  1. I get the chocolate flourless cake all the time. I haven't had any issues. Like she said it can be trial and error. But so far it has been good! And yes it is delicous. It is similar to the chocholate flourless domes at P.F.Changs. Just a little desnser.
  2. I was rail thin (anorexic looking). I didn't have the wasted buttocks syndrome or the bloated belly thing. I was sick for 13 years before diagnosis.
  3. I had to have my gall bladder taken out a year ago. I never had pain on the right side. My pain was always in the center of my chest just below my ribs, on the right side and on my back between my shoulder blades. I also had a kidney stone on the left side, so that is a possibility for you too.
  4. Sounds like me when I was a toddler. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 13. My reactions were always random. Some times months would go by with out a problem other times it was every night for a week straight. When I threw up it was always in the middle of the night. But when I got the D it was random.
  5. I had a different test done once a week for a year. I was 13 at the time so they tested me for every childhood illness and then some. A few that come to mind is sickle cell anemia, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and MS.
  6. My daughter and I are both A+ blood type. I am diagnosed celiac and we know she gets sick from gluten. We don't have any other intolerances.
  7. I planned my cheat day, but it will never happen. I always said that if I was put on death row, that for my last meal I would eat nothing but gluten. But with my luck, I would get a last minute pardon. I would be begging them to kill me any way!
  8. Unfortunatley for me that isn't true. I was diagnosed with fibro about 5 years ago. I have been gluten free for 21 years. I wish I could find something to improve my symptoms.
  9. Your welcome and thanks!
  10. I've been gluten-free for 21 years now. Let's see, I will run through some of your questions. What is the best advice you can give somebody starting out? Be your own advocate. Don't be afraid to ask questions and don't freak yourself out. If you get glutened, yeah, it sucks, but it isn't the end of the world. Stand up and dust yourself off. Have you...
  11. I questioned for years whether or not I had celiac. My endo results were "inconclusive". I got ahold of my then 19 year old medical records. The results were in fact not inconclusive. I had blunted villi and it was completely gone in patches. So I know without a question that I am celiac. Have you considered having a scratch allergy test for wheat? Just...
  12. I tried it, still don't like it.
  13. I was a kid who suffered from illnessess too. However, I was sick my whole life until I was diagnosed at the age of 13 and a half. And even still it took me about 3 years to start feeling and looking healthy. The short of it... I was expelled from school for missing too many days. The school finally gave me a home tutor when it was too late into the school...
  14. I have an older pressure cooker, so I don't know if that will make a difference or not but this is what I do. I use a pressure cooker all the time to make stew. I brown the meat. Add the liquid (about 3-4 cups) with the seasonings. I bring it to a rock on high then turn the temp down to medium. I cook it for 20 minutes. I do the quick release of the...
  15. I was a a gluten free, diagnosed celiac for 20 years before I had any gall bladder issues. Yes, I had mine removed. No I haven't had any similar attacks since. So in my case, that theory wouldn't work.
  16. I was diagnosed at age 13. (been 21 years now). I was a late bloomer as well as I was super skinny, to say the least. If your daughter is willing to do a gluten challenge she is old enough to "choose" for herself. Her dad should be supportive of what she wants to do. She needs to stand up for herself and say HEY! I'm tired of being sick and I want to try...
  17. I was given steroids when I accidentally ate half a wheat pizza. Long story short, the waitress brought me the wrong pizza. I was told before hand that it was a new recipe and tasted way better. Boy did it ever! LOL. Any way the Dr. gave me 3 days worth of steroids. It prevented me from having a severe reaction. On the 4th day I had a little bit of a reaction...
  18. Starry Night By Van Gogh. Open Original Shared Link I love it so much that I made my own version. I call it Seattle Starry Night. It is the Seattle skyline instead of the mountain and village.
  19. You too? I turned my head so I wouldn't sneeze on the heater back when I was 13 a y/o kid. I'm now 34, I can still turn my head a certain way and screw up my neck- shoulder area for days. It sucks!!
  20. My eye lid twitches when my blood sugar is starting to get low. Sometimes it is a nice warning to go get something in me quick, before my sugar levels drop down to the basement.
  21. I have a question for you guys. I admit I haven't read through all 70 pages, forgive me..LOL. My mom is following the SCD and can't find the farmer's cheese/ dry curd cottage cheese any where. She lives just South of Seattle. Does anyone have a source for it? She might be able to get the QFC to order it in for her. She would be willing to buy a case...
  22. When I participated I didn't have to do a scope. They must be really getting down to the nitty gritty of this. Did they say whether or not the scope is done before or after the study meds? Just curious...
  23. The pills definately didn't cause the stones. (I had that same thought at the time). I had a few minor attacks prior to starting the pills. I thought it was from stress and or gas I just didn't know what it was at the time. I ate very fatty prime rib for Christmas eve dinner and that was what set off the "I think I'm dyeing gall attack". Apparently one of...
  24. I bought a sub and only received 2 issues. Then they claimed it was time to renew. Never got a response from the phone calls. I liked the mag but too spendy, especially for only getting 2 copies.
