  1. Well, it appears you have it under control since you aren't visiting her house anymore. You can't fix crazy. And while I wouldn't advise you to divorce your husband, or leave your boyfriend because he has a crazy mother...I can tell you from experience that if y'all have children together you will be bound to this woman and you WILL be forced into situations...
  2. Oh geez. You LIVE there? Find second-hand fridge and put it on your room, store your stuff there. I'd find another way to get out of that house...get a place with roomates???? Even a gluteny slob is better than someone who intends you harm.
  3. I don't think it's so passive. Geez. Get away from that woman, don't eat at her house, don't stay at her house. And yes, if you have children with your boyfriend you will be stuck with that wacky woman for life.
  4. Yes. I was just telling my doctor how great I feel.. Around noon yesterday I started getting a headache....grew into a migraine....finally took Tylenol at 5:30 am....my period started....so now I am thinking it's hormonal... Stoll have a headache....Ugh. Yeah. Some days you slide back a bit. Bit overall it's much much better.
  5. Your child's risk is dependent upon many things. A half, single, or double copy of the gene...,other health issues, parental Celiac/gluten status.... The best you can do is test him periodically using the Celiac antibody panel, and pay attention to his health - is he thriving, having digestive issues, etc. I know you want an answer, but all you can...
  6. Keep your own cleaning supplies and start routinely cleaning suspect surfaces. Just be polite about it, see if it helps.
  7. Yep. Brain fog is definitely a part of it. Mine went away in apx. 1 week; however, everyone is different. You may also have some thyroid damage from prolonged gluten exposure, and that can contribute to brain fog. Definitely get all of this checked out when you get home. Stay safe and give your aunt a big kiss when you get home.
  8. It may not be the kitchen. Gluteny people touch things with gluteny hands -door knobs, etc. Sorry, I know that doesn't help ease your mind but perhaps it can help prevent some cc.
  9. It can take a while, butsounds like you're on the right track. You also may be getting glutened inadvertently, especially in your situation. Try to stay away from the obvious gluten, eat whole foods -plain meats, fruits, veggies, as much as possible. Stay away from sauces. Can anyone send you care package with gluten-free goodies like energy bars, etc...
  10. If you google thalassemia + celiac you find some thal forums dealing with celiac. I've searched them lately because thalassemia trait runs in my husband's family....and we are looking at Celiac testing for our son. If you suspect gluten issues, be aware there is also a dx called gluten intolerance where he can test negative on blood tests, yet respond...
  11. Ok, Got the genetic and other tests back. I'm really confused by the genetic tests. Help please??? HLA DQ allelles detected: DQA1*02;01, 05:01 DQB1*03: JWMA, 03:RCH _____________________________ DQ2 DQA1*05:01/05:05 Positive, one copy DQB1*02:01/02:02 Negative --------------------------------- DQ8 DQA1*03:XX Negative DQB1*03:02 Positive...
  12. My neck doesn't ache around my thyroid. Never has. Did your blood work show any vitamin malabsorption? As far as not absorbing thyroid meds, it is true from what I've read, that you only absorb a portion of it (differs pet person). Also, some people absorb some specific brands of thyroid meds better/worse than others. Thyroid can be difficult up treat...
  13. TMJ dx aonth before gluten-free. Mine was started with wisdom teeth removal at 18....one tooth didn't want to come out and they pulled really hard. It has improved greatly off gluten.
  14. My derm knew about the iodine connection...but didn't recognize my rash as DH. Granted, it did change "personalities", and I do remember him asking if the bumps had liquid in them..... At the time I didn't think so (that was when I used corticosteroid cream -and it made them look and act differently). The first outbreak I had after getting off the steroids...
  15. I'm one of those that overreacts. Recently to corticosteroids, antibiotics...., Ironically I can drink coffee all night and go to sleep in a blink. But give me ONE EXCEDRIN....and I'm cleaning my room and reorganizing drawers with a 102+ fever. I'm just weird.
  16. I use Vanicream. I usually find their products next to Cetaphil.
  17. Hives and skin conditions are linked with autoimmune problems and allergies. You may have luck lessening your hives if you address the underlying problem.
  18. Hi there! Well, the rash on your hands from cold may be "cold hives". Open Original Shared Link If you were diagnosed at a younger age with a wheat problem, your observations about your reactions are probably accurate. I'd find those medical records and see what they say. There's lots of info on here about dx, testing, etc. If your goal is to have...
  19. Refried beans are easy. Cook them in a crock pot, pur
  20. Well, first my husband would have pulled some stupid Cro-Magnon stunt by now (probably involving a head butt). Second, I would have popped my husband for being a jealous jerk and thinking I couldn't deal with Romeo. Third, I would have pulled a Julia Sugarbaker a long time ago on Romeo. I find its very effective. Fourth, avoid the fool.
  21. My TPO is down from 240 at dx to 60 after 2 months gluten-free. I have no idea what it was pre gluten-free, on meds. I haven't felt hyper or hypo, then again I don't know the difference since gluten-free is a new ballgame. I just know gluten-free life is much much better. I am getting to the point I can start working out - and need to do it. I have...
  22. Just give it time. I've been freaking out because I've had C for years, and now that I have more than one bm/day I think it must be D! Of course, yesterday I DID have D, but that could have been from anything and I'm trying not to freak out about it. I've been adding lots of supplements, and that has always "disagreed" with me. I am tolerating them...
  23. I agree thyroid supplementation, even with "slightly high tsh" can be hugely beneficial. I am a living, breathing example. I saw drastic changes in my mood, energy, and brain fog in DAYS on very low-dose t3/t4. It will be interesting to see if I can reduce my dosage now that I'm gluten-free.
  24. I have a brain. I have stamina. I DON'T HAVE A RASH!!!!!! My hair stopped falling out. I don't have headaches, migraines. I don't feel like I'm stroking the furry wall anymore!
  25. I'm so sorry. I hope they figure out what's going on quickly so you can resume your life. You'll get to Europe. Eventually.
