  1. Some people use lemon juice in cinnamon roll frosting. I use it on King Cakes and like it.
  2. Homemade icing for cinnamon rolls is the EASIEST. Just mix gluten-free vanilla (tsp), sugar of your choice (I use powdered) and milk or water to achieve the right texture. Very EASY. I used to make cinnamon rolls, but haven't for years. Don't even have the recipe anymore. Hmmm....
  3. Funny! I have one of those books where you hide purees in food for kids...had a similar reaction with a few recipes. My son started asking "what's in it" every time I made something. He was 5. I don't do that anymore.
  4. Oh shoot, don't tell me that! I'm saving them for the weekend so we can all try one! Tried donuts - Kinnikinnick (sp) wasn't horrible but Glutino is awful.
  5. I think Bob's Red Mill has a recipe using their pizza dough mix.
  6. Geez. What's the universal doctors problem with DH???? I googled "rash iodine" and the only stuff I came up with was DH and iodine allergy. I don't think we have an iodine allergy from the positive results of going gluten-free. What other rash is helped by withdrawing iodine????
  7. That sucks. I'd leave. Seriously. Go to a natural market and see if they have a substitute pronto!!!
  8. I signed up through Medic Alert. I wear a bracelet now when I'm out. If I ever get the DH figured out (who am I kidding, it's DH) I'll need a new one. Bracelet is getting crowded. I like their service because you have a profile where you can update info, phone numbers, etc.
  9. Funny you ask. I bought some Udi's yesterday. So far that's my recipe. I know someone here has one. Google gluten free cinnamon rolls recipe and I'm sure you'll find several. I think I saw a box mix yesterday - one of those where you can make 5+ things with it. I'll think about it and see if I can figure it out.
  10. Interesting. I've noticed since I got on thyroid meds when I get sick with something like the flu it's milder than everyone else around me. I'm also the last one to get it. I had the "regular" flu and then swine flu...both were milder than everyone around me. I can't believe the difference thyroid meds made for me. Before thyroid meds I got sick at the...
  11. Thanks. It's getting better and I just have major gas. I won't be eating the leftovers. Am also being careful because I know from history that once my stomach does this I have to baby it for a week. Lots of water and mild food or I'm in for major acid attacks.
  12. Peanuts are something that sets off some gluten-free people. Sometimes your body thinks it's gluten. Try almond or another butter? Coffee, same thing. Body can think it's gluten.
  13. Add carbs like rice. Lots of rice out there. Fruits - calorie rich and good for you unless you are intolerant. Add some vitamins - at least a good multi.
  14. I thought about this. I love my pans. We have a relationship it took years to build. I don't know if I can do it. I may have to keep the old ones, even if I get new ones. Ugh.
  15. Yeah. Trader Joes carries gluten-free stuff. I noticed this week, suddenly labeling changed to "no gluten ingredients", which is more accurate because 90% of what I pick up says it was made on lines with wheat, etc. I did find some creme br
  16. Ouch. How do you feel about that?
  17. Hey, it was all gluten-free!!!!! Okay, I admit I brought this on myself.
  18. Ugh. I have not had stomach pain in YEARS. Almost 3 months gluten-free, all going well (DH clearing) and NOW my stomach hurts?!!! Started yesterday with raging D I attributed to B complex I was taking. Ate dinner and now it's back - feels exactly like it did 12 years ago. SERIOUSLY???? Maybe the hot links, sauerkraut, and gluten-free beer was a...
  19. She is clueless about gluten, celiac, and thyroid. I don't care if you have to find another doctor, get that Hashis test, try a t3/t4 combo, get a celiac panel. And the right t3 level is the one that makes you feel good. Which may be impossible without going gluten-free. Try a Naturapath for the testing. See what it says then get to a GI if needed...
  20. Once mine did. Just to pop up 4 months later. Reducing iodine is extremely effective.
  21. I'm trying Bard's tonight with sausage, sauerkraut, apples, potatoes, and onions! Yum! I'll look for Estrella. Have you tried a BevMo or Total Wine?
  22. I know I posted this on another similar thread...but here it is again. Get a Dr. John Lee book. Get some progesterone cream. Try it. Works for me. Mine went zonko around dx time. 4 months of cream around days 14-28 fixed it right up. Helps with pms too!
  23. Grilled brats, sauerkraut, apples, onions, garlic.... and perhaps a gluten-free roll. I don't think a lot of kissing will be going on tonight!
  24. So, finally got the DNA test today, along with a zillion vitamin tests to see where/if I'm deficient. Can't do the Enterolab test yet... maybe next week. Recovering from my B12 incident (oh goodness... too much is NOT a good thing ).
