  1. There's a new improved Norovirus going around. It's wicked.
  2. I don't advise weights at this point. Your soft tissue probably can't handle it. Google isometrics, Pilates, stretching and start there. Don't think you can't push yourself doing those? I dare you . And regardless of what your labs say, you are deficient in vits/mins. They don't test for everything - there isn't a test for everything. That's celiac...
  3. I have a half gene of both. I am genetically at lower risk than average (according to LabCorp)....yet here I am. Worry less about risk, more about what works. If gluten-free works, it works.
  4. Exactly! Ironically, now that I can eat more sugar/carbs without my blood sugar going nuts I find it still makes my stomach feel bloated and uncomfortable...and of course, that's after binging for a month after making that exciting discovery. So where am I? Back to eating a little sweet, here and there. Usually grain free. Sometimes I'm a slow...
  5. When they test her thyroid is it just tsh or do they do free t3/t4 and reverse t3? Because my tsh would look great but I still had issues (that I used to attribute to celiac). Only after being gluten-free and working on adrenals/thyroid with different supplaments and exercise can I see which is which. I couldn't believe how many digestive issues I had from...
  6. Is your dairy fat free? If it is it may help to eat a fatty one to slow down sugar conversion. Or dairy may be, like you observe, your kryptonite. Veggies are key for me. I hate it. It's like my body is flipping me the bird. Don't get me wrong, I like veggies...I just hate having to eat so many, so early in the day. Every day. It's like taking medicine...
  7. While many of us can use some improvement on our diet (we all have our goodies, don't we?), I think sometimes we forget there's more to it than food and exercise. Celiac is an autoimmune disease. They don't know what NCGI is, exactly, but I assume like AI diseases, it affects more than just one body system. AI is tough on your body. Lots of us are...
  8. For me I need vegetables and I need them for breakfast. I hate it. I've learned to sautéed a big handfull of spinach in a pan, then make a crepe/omelet and stuff it with the spinach for breakfast. That's how I get veggies in the am, for example. If your yogurt is high protein, sugar free it may help. It may also just be the fruit. I had to really cut ...
  9. Really??? Walgreens sold them to me, no problem.
  10. If you really want to know what's going on with your blood sugar buy an inexpensive blood glucose kit and strips (strips are the expensive part). Test before meals, 1 hour after, 2 hours after. Chart it. I found I felt bad when I had the biggest swings. I never technically went hypo (even when I felt horrible) but it is documented people feel hypo without...
  11. Start a food and symptom journal, and keep the label from any food she may have reacted to. Once you have a few episodes start comparing labels of what she's had in the last 24 hours. I say 24 because we are known to react up to 24 hours. Also, you may try her on digestive enzymes with meals, if she isn't on them already. It will hep break down her food...
  12. She may have a temporary or permanent problem with milk: lactose or casein. Many Celiacs can't tolerate milk in one or both forms. Sometimes it's permanent, other times temporary. You may try taking her off milk products and trying them again in a few months. It isn't unusual to have other food intolerances, unfortunately. They can be temporary or permanent...
  13. Thanks for the breakdown on the ice/heat. I always wonder...and I'm glad you healed so quickly. Of course, would be easier if I knew what I screwed up...since both ligaments and tendons are wonky....but oh welll.... I have found, for what I damage, ice is better. Hot showers are the extent of the heat.
  14. I'm so glad you're doing well and having fun. Makes all the difference, doesn't it?
  15. Prior to your visit google "orthopedic massage" for your area and see who comes up. It may be difficult to find a therapist on insurance. But trust me, it's worth it. Orthopedic is a particular modality. The practitioner must be trained in the technique. Mine explained how in areas I'm tight, I'm also loose on the other side. My upper chest muscles...
  16. I know the heat feels good but you really do need to ice the inflamed areas to reduce swelling. Sorry. I hate ice. I understand. Wanted to gut my husband every time he pointed it out to me. But it does work. And if you know you're hypermobile in your pelvis you definitely need to work on your core. I'm sure it will help you stabilize your body, not...
  17. Lots of people order from NutsOnline. Open Original Shared Link To the OP, I hope you've been reading the responses to your other posts.
  18. Hellloooo! Yeah, thought I'd stop by and toss my $0.02 in!
  19. I know what you're talking about. The need for more calories after working out is normal; however, it's either exaggerated for AI people or a part of the adrenals being off... I know I have adrenal problems, not just because I'm AI (celiac, Hashimotos, endometriosis) but because I had very sudden onset of problems after undergoing steroid treatment for...
  20. Honestly, if its gluten causing the pain I sleep it off. It's the best fix. After that, I've found exercise burns it out of me. Bit she's a child and she may feel differently. I usually treat the symptom. For me, if my stomach hurts its acid...and I live French fries for it. Or a loaded baked potato. But she may get low acid so she may need betaine...
  21. It's going to take a whole to build up your activity level. When I started working out I'd nap every day. Took about 2 months to get past that. My doc told me to exercise no more than every other day. That said, my routine is different from yours. Since you take a short walk daily, is there a way you could add just a bit to that? Start with mild some...
  22. My son cycles through foods. He'll want one thing for breakfast for a few months then inexplicably refuse it and demand something else. Right now he wants pancakes....with sausage. He previously wanted an egg omelet, plain. Before that was Chex. He'd still take the Chex but I won't give it to him, which is part of the egg problem, I'm sure . ...
  23. And add a reverse t3 to that panel.... And find a doctor to work with you on making you FEEL better, not look good on a lab sheet. There's a definite difference when it comes to thyroid disease. And must I state the obvious??? If you have Celiac it won't matter how many supplaments that doc tosses as you...you won't absorb them like you should. Heck...
  24. I wonder if her thyroid is controlled? I read she's on meds, but is it working? I had hideous C before I started thyroid supplamentation. And it would fluctuate with D. Of course, I was on gluten... I also was sick all the time prior to thyroid meds. I would ask to see the celiac tests they ran , to ensure it was a full panel. She definitely is...
  25. The problem isn't that you are/not absorbing sugar. It's about how many of us have side effects from celiac...ancillary damage. I've been told its liver and pancreas and adrenal and hormones and thyroid (of course) all in a whacked-out loop that makes me trend hypoglycemic. Your body can't regulate the sugar as well as it should. The better my adrenals...
