  1. Oh no. Ice packs, Vanicream (I know it's gluten-free, check for corn) and Vaseline. Try to wear a bra as little as possible. Use a mild deoderant - nothing with scents or strong ingredients. It burned mine. Try to wipe it down with wet clothes a few times a day. You will notice more bo, but that's normal because of the skin and scab accumulation...
  2. If you can do nuts I highly reco an Elana's Pantry recipe. There's a triple chocolate chip recipe that's un-freaking-believable and is milk free. And isn't there a way to move to a different cube??? Ack!
  3. I can't make sense of DH at all, honestly. There are iodine and sals in everything. Well, at least almost everything. Some people are more sensitive than others - I don't know why. I'm not sure exactly HOW the iodine interacts with iga - I've heard it described as an activator and necessary, but perhaps it's better descrIbed as an exacerbate? https...
  4. I eat out about once per week. Sometimes more, but I try not to. I go to high end restaurants that others have told me do gluten-free or publish a gluten-free menu/statement. I also have tried BJ's, Pei Wei, etc. and been fine. I did have one horrid glutening experience, I think - a local place that had a gluten-free menu but I'd read reviews they...
  5. What would we do if we could watch our intestines? Hate to find out!
  6. I got so obsessed with tracking my underarm rash I drew dots around the perimeter with a sharpie to track its growth.
  7. Well, at least you have somewhere to start. You can develop allergies to meds at any time, same with foods. When you go gluten-free your body starts resetting, healing - for lack of better terms. The first 6 months are really a free-for-all. Anything can and will (apparently) happen. The good new is sals are cumulative. Bad news is sals are...

  10. It means you have the most common genes associated with Celiac disease, and your blood work indicates egg and milk allergies. It does not mean you HAVE Celiac. It means you have about a 30% chance. But if you have a full copy of both 2 and 8 your risk goes up. Im not great with the genes, hopefully Skylark will chime in with more details.
  11. Regarding your stomach issues: You could be going through withdrawal. You could not be eating a balanced diet with enough fiber - its hard to change your eating habits quickly, but you'll get there. You could be uncovering other food issues now that you've eliminated two biggies - it happens all the time. It can just be a part of healing - most of us...
  12. Can you sub in lower glycemic sweeteners like honey, date sugar, stevia, fruits etc. and still fulfill your craving? You may try weaning yourself off. Have you monitored your blood glucose?
  13. You might want to read about salicylates. I was looking at this for someone else and saw gum rash and nasal polyps. Open Original Shared Link
  14. Here's a recipe I found for gnocchi - been meaning to try it. Don't know if it will help or not. Open Original Shared Link I have a bookmark somewhere for a blogger who went round and round with it and finally came up with something. I specifically remember the "dissolving" part. If I find it I'll post it.
  15. This is a product website, and while not scientific, does sum it up pretty well. Open Original Shared Link Here's info about symptoms: Open Original Shared Link Here's a list of how to cope: Open Original Shared Link I read about Sals in relation to aggravating conditions or being "a mysterious cause". It's one of the things I considered was causing...
  16. Read this about coconut oil: Open Original Shared Link I know it is stressful and upsetting to see new sores form. I think iodine accumulates, btw. It took me a week to break out from the multivitamin. You know, something to consider is salicylates: coconut is VERY high in sals, and I had a slight problem with it in the beginning. I seem to be ok now...
  17. Nuts, meats, legumes, vegetables. Stay away from anything high in sugar without cutting it with a protein/fat.
  18. He may be talking about the vaccination trials in Australia. The approach is to desensitize people the way you get desensitized to allergies - shots. It is supposed to be DNA dependent. So of you aren't dq2, it won't work - at least the first vaccine won't. I'm half dq2, half dq8. I have no idea if it would work on a freak like me .
  19. Gluten does different things to different people. If you see a correlation, then it's probably there. It's potent stuff.
  20. I would guess "cook" would be a better description.
  21. This isn't a grated cheese, but a sauce. I haven't tried it but I may. Open Original Shared Link
  22. Have you considered that maybe you're hypoglycemic?? 62 is getting down there.... I've found my body doesn't like to swing more than 15 points. I've read that diabetics with wide sugar ranges have more difficulties - perhaps this applies to non diabetics too? At least you recognize a pattern and your doctors aren't screaming at you about diabetes....
  23. I'd look into adrenal issues, and also keep a food diary to try to find out if something triggers the vertigo in general. I was getting vertigo episodes before gluten-free - they have stopped now...it's possible there's something else triggering it. Even environmental allergies (I get headaches and ear fluid when allergens are high, but nothing like they...
  24. Yep. It's hard to figure out. I never would have guessed gluten caused my rash because it was never obvious - I never ate a piece of bread and noticed my rash flare. Someone had to tell me to drop gluten based on my ai history. I think the most common way to figure out an intolerance is to do an elimination diet - a month or so without a food, and see...
  25. Would make sense since some believe that all ai stems from the same root. I don't know ai is the cause or effect but when I help my hormonal and endocrine system (progesterone, DHA) I see rapid and obvious improvements. Exercise helps me tremendously. That may be the sugar factor for me, or it may be because exercise helps stabilize hormones, or...
