ARCHIVED Can Celiacs Use A Heat Bag Made Of Wheat?Cathey replied to MissBonnie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease I use to use the wheat kind but the smell in the microwave bothered me and it just got old. Last year I brought the Carex Bed Buddy around $8-10 it's filled with oat and rice and you don't have to put water in the microwave. You can also freeze it or microwave.

ARCHIVED Pls Tell Me Your Favorite gluten-free Products!Cathey replied to Aly1's topic in Super Sensitive People I was a huge snacker, prior to October. I don't eat a traditional breakfast or lunch never did, loved my cookies and milk late night. We always have done whole foods for dinner and still continue. Most nights I'll skip the starch and make double vegetable and a salad with the protein. Milk is still an issue, so no more cookies and milk late night, also...

ARCHIVED Schar Ciabatta Parbaked RollsCathey replied to pricklypear1971's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications I googled Schar and found my local Meat Farms (Long Island, NY) carried it. I'm so excited they are soft and not dense. I won't open till ready to use and then fridge or freeze the rest. I'll report later. But, to my surprise I found that store has a G.F. section. It carries brands that my DH goes to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods for. So excited everyday...

I wasn't sure of what I was using with all I had read. That's why I came to the experts with the experience. The cost is not bad if it last 90 days it comes to $12 a month, the Aloe drink is close to $60 month. I probably will use the Aloe for a couple months and just stay on the...

Last night late I made Nacho's and oh how I suffered...

I just started using and was going to recommend nutra-Metrix Probiotic / Enzymes (brought @ the Doctors office) using it along with Ultimate Aloe drink. It is a vegetarian mixture with no wheat, gluten, soy, yeast, starch, milk, salt or preservatives. My dilemma, I started researching other recommended Probiotic...

ARCHIVED How To Use Frozen BreadCathey replied to 1974girl's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips When I buy fresh bread (we only have Udi's available here) I put 2 slices in a ziplock sandwich bag and then back into the original bag it came in and freeze. It's easy to take a ziplock out each morning and defrost or toast. Just found a bakery 15 miles away and the loaf of bread is huge, I cut the slices in half. It all comes with time and what works...

When I was diagnosed late Oct, my Dr. said no milk or lactose for 3 weeks. Time to give the villi time to heal, the enzymes in the dairy are not good in healing time. Thanksgiving weekend I had cheese cake and then 2 days of grilled cheese sandwiches. OMG what a horrible time the pains were unbelievable. Even now I will only have cheese in moderation...

Thank you all for your responses, I will have to tweek it next time with extra cream and more egg yolks. The bread was much drier than regular raisin bread. I did not get the custard I was use to. The boyz enjoyed it and it was nice to continue Christmas breakfast gluten-free.

Help.... I make a baked french toast w/ raisin bread for Christmas morning. You layer the bread and pour the eggs, cream, milk and let it soak all night, then bake in the am. It gets a thick custard top and bottom. My question, has anyone had experience with baking Udi's Raisin Bread in a recipe like this? Should I not soak it all night, will the gluten...
