  1. I use to use the wheat kind but the smell in the microwave bothered me and it just got old. Last year I brought the Carex Bed Buddy around $8-10 it's filled with oat and rice and you don't have to put water in the microwave. You can also freeze it or microwave.

  3. I was a huge snacker, prior to October. I don't eat a traditional breakfast or lunch never did, loved my cookies and milk late night.   4. I googled Schar and found my local Meat Farms (Long Island, NY) carried it. I'm so excited they are soft and not dense. I won't open till ready to use and then fridge or freeze the rest.   6. I was told after diagnosis to cut out milk for 3-4 weeks, I used carnation flavored liquid in my coffee and no other milk. After 6 weeks I had a grilled cheese sandwich and cheese cake, OMG the pain... Even now 3 months gluten-free, I only have milk in my coffee. When I do have cheese it's in moderation.   11. The last few years I made 2 pots of soup every weekend to help feed my in-laws ( a hearty and nutritious first dish) and made vegetation chili for our son. I cool the meal then cool, put in 2 cup or 4 cup plastic containers (buy @ the dollar store), freeze. I throw out the container after 3 or 4 times use.   13. When I buy fresh bread (we only have Udi's available here) I put 2 slices in a ziplock sandwich bag and then back into the original bag it came in and freeze. It's easy to take a ziplock out each morning and defrost or toast. Just found a bakery 15 miles away and the loaf of bread is huge, I cut the slices in half. It all comes with time and what works...
  14. When I was diagnosed late Oct, my Dr. said no milk or lactose for 3 weeks. Time to give the villi time to heal, the enzymes in the dairy are not good in healing time.   15. I wish I could help more, but less then 3 months gluten-free all I can say his hang there. You will feel better. I was on over 10 different Gerd medications the past 3 years.   17. Check with the hotel about a getting a fridge in your room. The hotel will also be able to tell you about local markets, ask the hotel if they provide a courtesy van to take you. If you are flying pack a soft sided cooler in your luggage with ice packs (you will have to check the luggage not carry on). You could take your own bread, crackers, canned soup...

You have many suggestions from others, roasted vegetables (red potatoes, carrots, parsnip, brussel sprout, sweet potato) add a little EVOO and seasoning.   20. Happy today because my husband made me an awesome dinner tonight, he is on vacation this week but I have to work. He made Scallops Provencal, saute fresh baby spinach and fresh green salad with nuts and cranberries. He's my # 1 support and I'm so thankful for all his support.

  22. I made several Quiches for Saturday morning breakfast. The Whole Foods gluten-free pie crusts were awesome, buttery, good texture and crumbled. My family couldn't believe they were gluten-free. I'm going to use them next week for my baked Brie.
  23. Thank you all for your responses, I will have to tweek it next time with extra cream and more egg yolks. The bread was much drier than regular raisin bread. I did not get the custard I was use to. The boyz enjoyed it and it was nice to continue Christmas breakfast gluten-free.
