  1. Just out of curiosity, how did your symptoms of psoriatic arthritis begin (this is for anyone to answer)? I always thought that I had eczema on my fingers, and while I believe that I do in some places, I think that the rest of what I thought was eczema might actually be psoriasis. I have started to get very pitty and malformed fingernails where the eczema...
  2. Does anyone know of any safe restaurants in the area?
  3. I really like to use the Chebe Bread mix. It makes a wonderful pizza crust.
  4. I really like using the Chebe Bread mix for pizza crust, and you can freeze the dough for up to 30 days. I was thinking about making myself some pre-made crusts, freezing them, and then just adding toppings when I was ready to have one. There are also those Amy's frozen pizzas but they aren't cheap.
  5. Hm. Nice to know we are being made fun of when we try to go out and eat. Anyway, I think that if you put your efforts into making some really fabulous gluten-free food, you would be successful. Just look at the reaction here when someone finds a *really* good gluten-free product, or a special restaurant. Celiacs are very loyal and appreciative customers...
  6. I used to use Aveeno lotion and a wheat containing hair product, and they had no effect on the severity of my DH. It seemed completely random. I do, however, get rashes from other things. I can't use any scented laudry detergents for example, or wear colored underwear.
  7. I like the Nature's Path rice crispies.
  8. I actually eat at Famous Dave's pretty frequently, and the Texas Pit sauce and Georgia Mustard are safe. If you ask the manager, they should have a list of all the things that you can't have.
  9. Corn (for the most part), soy (for the most part), and milk and ice cream (but not other dairy). Corn and soy make me feel ill; indigestion, headaches, etc. but I can tolerate them in small amounts (I can eat a little soy sauce, but not a hunk of tofu). Milk and ice cream upset my stomach, but for some reason other dairy like cheese and sour cream don...
  10. Great, thanks! I got some of the black olive tonight and I was pretty sure that it was ok but I always have to ask when it says "spices" or something.
  11. Anyone know if these are gluten-free?
  12. Bummer. When I was in school all it took was a note from the parents and they had to let you go.
  13. celiac3270, won't your parents let you off from school for that?
  14. Hey broncobux, we match!
  15. Sometimes. When I go somewhere and my only choice is a salad with no dressing, while everyone else is eating pasta, that makes me feel pouty. Or when people eat things that I used to love in front of me while saying "Oh this is SO good. Too bad you can't have any. I would just die if I had that." (of course, that usually makes me more angry with the people...
  16. Check with the chef/manager. There is a local place that uses white sauce in some dishes, it's gluten-free.
  17. On my dad's side Scottish and Irish, on my mom's side English and German.
  18. I have found that the canidae store locator is not reliable, it doesn't list the store where my mom buys it locally. If you have time, go through the phone book and call the pet stores and feed stores in your area, you might luck out. Not only is it gluten free, but it's a great food.
  19. They have a list, ask the manager. I don't know about cf, but I eat there and I always get the country roasted chicken (there are 2 sauces that are ok, Texas Pit and Georgia Mustard) and unseasoned green beans. Never had a problem.
  20. Canidae is about $28 for 40lbs, but I'm not sure where you can get it.
  21. I agree, complain to Walgreens about that guy. My local Walgreen's has always been very helpful.
  22. I like Burt's Bees stuff for personal care (peppermint body soap, carrot lotion, hand salve), and I use Bare Minerals makeup.
  23. I don't know if this is weird or not, but I've always found raw carrots to be very helpful in that department.
  24. It is Oct 6-8 in Green Bay, WI. I was thinking that if anyone else was planning to go we could meet there.
  25. Well, it sounds like you haven't been gluten free anyway. If you are still eating spelt bread and other sources of gluten, I would think that would be enough to get the testing done even though you aren't eating wheat.
