  1. LOL I think I got it from riding a tractor in my bathing suit.
  2. I used to get them all the time. Going gluten-free helped quite a bit, and they decreased even more after cutting out corn. Now I get one a month (hormone related). Things that I have heard as migraine triggers include red wine, aged cheese, nuts, caffiene, and chocolate. Have you considered keeping a food diary? It might be worth a try.
  3. Me too, I was pleasantly suprised. I hadn't expected a response at all. Very nice.
  4. I took it constanty at first, because it can take months for the diet to clear up your skin. Now I take it only when I've had an accidental gluten ingestion.
  5. Dapsone didn't work for me. Not only did it not work, but it made me terribly sick and landed me on bedrest. BUT the good news is that if you find that you can't take dapsone, there is an alternative. I take 500mg of tetracycline and 500mg of B3 twice a day and it controls any outbreaks that I might have.
  6. I started having stomach problems when I was 17, but looking back I can see all kinds of non-GI symptoms throughout my childhood. I developed DH in 2003, I had a very small surgical procedure on my arm that got infected and I ended up getting a bad case of impetigo from that. That is when the DH appeared, I took antibiotics for the impetigo and just when...
  7. That place looks cool! I'm sorry that I can't help, but if you find anything out or if you go please post! I'm interested.
  8. Search the boards for Bigelow, I'm sure that someone posted a response from them not long ago. I'm almost positive that they are gluten-free but just check to make sure.
  9. NO WAY!! That is one of my all-time favorite candies, I guess I just assumed that I couldn't have them. I could eat an ocean of swedish fish.
  10. I knew that it was going to be my last hurrah, so I went out for mexican. I had a big carnitas burrito on a flour shell with everything. It was delicious. Then my doctor called me with my lab results about an hour after I ate. But it was good.
  11. I can't eat corn either. Small amounts don't bother me too much, but I avoid it as much as humanly possible. No need to feel sick if you don't have to, right?
  12. How about a taco style pizza with lettuce, tomatoes, seasoned meat, onions.......etc?
  13. Nut thins are my favorite, but I've tried the Glutino and Ener-G saltine style crackers too and they aren't bad.
  14. 1. Chebe Bread 2. Nutella 3. Trident salmon burgers 4. Leg-a-Sea imitation crab meat 5. Blue Diamond nut thins (clearly most of these aren't gluten-free "specialty" foods, but just stuff I like that happens to be gluten-free)
  15. I had never even heard of the stool tests until I came here, a month after diagnosis. I also had never heard of celiac disease or DH until the day they drew my blood for the tests. I'm sure that many people are in that same boat.
  16. So do they have anything gluten-free that is worthwhile? There is a Boston's here, and I've gone to their bar with my husband (they have a poker tourney) and was pleased to find Woodchuck available. I wouldn't mind eating there if they have anything decent.
  17. Yeah, I feel like that sometimes. I get cravings for things that I never even liked in the first place, or if I see someone eating something (again, something that I never even liked anyway) I just want it SO bad. I know I'm only wanting it because I can't have it.
  18. Didn't NPR do a segment on Celiac not too long ago? In fact, I think I've heard at least one other reference to it on NPR. Here: Open Original Shared Link
  19. I've been struggling for months to figure out what *else* is making me sick (besides gluten). I'm now 100% sure that it's corn, and for some reason cornstarch and corn flour (tortillas for example, or chips) are the worst. Damage? I have no idea. I just know that it makes me feel sick and very tired.
  20. That's one of the shows that I Tivo, and I had to go run and watch it after reading your post! They did indeed mention gluten-free pizza. One of the daughters' friends was "allergic to gluten" and they were having a sleep over.
  21. I don't think that it has gluten, but it totally made me sick. It wasn't like a gluten reaction at all, but I tried it on 2 separate occasions and it made me barf both times. Just a heads up.
