  1. Sorry I've taken so long to respond. I've been out of touch for a while --- buying a house & the deal went south when the survey revealed the septic drain field was on the neighbor's property. It's wonderful you are feeling so much better Patti-ann! To answer your question, it took many, many months before I wasn't continually starving. We are...
  2. Okay. Thanks Peter.
  3. Okay, I finally found instructions. I found this but there is no box that appears to allow me to select the file on my computer that I want to upload. Sooooooo I'm still lost. Attachments Depending on where in the community you are posting your message at, you may be able to upload attachments to your message. There are two types of uploaders available...
  4. I would like to upload some photos. I have gotten a pop up that says "My Media" but my My Media is empty. How do I access My Media for me so I can upload some photos to it? Or how do I upload photos to a thread? I see where some people have posted photos directly on a thread without having to put a link to photo bucket or some such. A couple weeks...
  5. I'll second that emotion.
  6. Geez, I totally forgot to post back on this thread. The Jimmy Dean sausages do not use iodized salt.
  7. I'm really sorry you feel that way. The conversation didn't get squashed; it got moved ---- to here: and it takes a moderator to move it. I am not a moderator. You DO have ideas to contribute, things to discuss, photos to share & I hope you will reconsider your decision. No one said you could not do all those things. They just need to have...
  8. Oh Gawd! The scalp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's horrid just horrid! There are crusts & where there aren't crusts there is oozing. The hair gets stuck to your head. I will wake at night & the pillowcase is so wet with oozing I can't find a dry place for my face. In the morning the pillowcase is stuck to the pillow. It's disgusting & makes me feel disgusting...
  9. Yes, I find that happens to me too. Also I have noticed that when a dh flare is really getting going I actually have a little bit of a temperature. The temp. goes back to normal in a day or two.
  10. Very interesting article Lisa. Thanks for posting that. And our OP said she was going to the doc on Wednesday. Today's Thursday. Any news OP? How are you doing?

  12. Yeah they are aren't they? We were really surprised that none of their cookies taste "weird" especially since they don't have any of that stuff in them! They taste like regular old gluten cookies! Here's a link to the company website: Open Original Shared Link And we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their chocolate bars & chocolate chips! And here's a link for...
  13. Leeches it IS! I'll run right out tomorrow & get a couple thousand.
  14. Gluten-Free, If you are going to avoid iodine for the dh rash then most if not all of the cookies listed above are going to be on the no-no list. Dairy is iodine, as is carageenan, eggs b/c of the yolk & I could go on. But since hubs & I are doing it I will tell you what we found. Enjoy Life cookies. they are GREAT! No sandwich cookies but really...
  15. Yup. A dh punch biopsy is what you need. And a derm who knows what the heck they're doing. AND DO NOT GO GLUTEN FREE OR GLUTEN LIGHT UNTIL THE BIOPSY IS DONE & YOU HAVE THE RESULTS BACK & KNOW THE DERM DID IT RIGHT!
  16. Wow! great find. Great info. Thanks DFAnn!
  17. I feel your pain Gluten-Free. I'm going through one of those myself which began in early Sept. & stillllllll going. I think ....... but won't finish the sentence for fear of jinxing myself. I did that once before & actually said it & BAM! the dh went nuts. So shhhhhhhhhhhhh...... Okay. DH can present at any time for up to 2 years ...
  18. Boy, you sound like a prime candidate! Okay, first off this is really, really important. You must not stop eating a normal gluten filled diet until ALL testing is finished including an endoscopy/biopsy. If you do, you will run the risk of false negative results. Here is the current FULL celiac blood panel: Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin ...
  19. If it were me I would eat more than a "bit" each day. You want the best chance you can of getting an accurate result. 2-4 slices of gluten bread per day or 2 good bowls of pasta is what I would do. Your Family Dr. can run the blood work for you. As to what the rules are in Canada on your insurance I have no clue as I am in the U.S.
  20. Kat, keep eating gluten until the testing is done or you may get another false negative.
  21. I think it's highly probable. It sounds like you've done your homework when you state the sarcastic "right" re: your uncle growing out of celiac disease. NOW, I just hope they did all the correct blood work on you. So many do not know what the full celiac panel consists of. And I applaud your desire to give gluten-free a good solid try even if the blood...
