You're very welcome & no, you're not crazy but dh will surely make you think you are! I totally get the boots thing. My hubs has dh too & the first place his ever appeared was on both calves after he had been wearing socks -- exactly where the socks had the elastic. We went crazy buying this kind of sock & then that kind of sock & then...

Yep, have a last wild fling! Drink your fill of you most favorite beer. Eat those fabulous Christmas baked goods with total abandon. It's good that your partners are on board with the fact that you may need to take time off. Please keep us updated on what happens. -

Open Original Shared Link Since you've only been off for 5 or 6 days & I'm betting you got cross contamination during that time then I don't think you need to go a full 12 weeks but I nor anyone else can exactly how much having been off will affect you. It's so hard to say. The thing is, you want to be SURE and don't want to ever doubt your test... -
Hey Cheryl, Nope, dh can & does present any old where in the body that it takes a notion to. It can present on the trunk, feet, hands, neck, face, scalp, well, you get the picture. Let me ask you this...... does it present on both sides of the body? Bilateral. DH does like to flare where there are pressure points --- you described breasts due...

Great advice from notme! Please be sure to follow the links contained in the Newbie 101 that notme! linked you to. You'll need to get a new toaster or toaster bags, and a new, dedicated cutting board, dedicated condiments or squeeze bottles of them all and do numerous other things. Better let your wife read it too. -
ARCHIVED Not sure what's going on.
squirmingitch replied to Lilbarista's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I know it's hard. That's the killer with this dx business. We have to hurt ourselves to get the dx. Sigh. Hang in there a little while longer. {{{HUGS}}} -

I am sorry but they are wrong. The damage is not noticeable with the naked eye unless the damage is of the most extreme kind. They may see inflammation but that can be caused by other things. The only way to dx celiac with the endoscopy is to take biopsies --- 6 to be precise and those biopsies have to be sent to pathology to tell the state of celiac damage... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Gum and Breath Mints
squirmingitch replied to BoiseGirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Tic Tacs use rice starch in them & there is nothing in the ingredients list to set off an alarm with me. I use them & have never had a reaction but I have only used the white ones. I did call them just after I went gluten-free 4 years ago & they said there are no gluten ingredients in them. -
ARCHIVED Can't gain weight at all. Help?
squirmingitch replied to Annoyed's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I just thought of something. Grits & cornbread with lots & lots of butter. I found this awesome company that is completely gluten free from farm to packaging. Palmetto Farms. Just Google them. They grow it, harvest it, truck it, mill it and package it. They even sew their own bags! It's a family affair. There is no wheat, barley or rye anywhere near... -
ARCHIVED Can't gain weight at all. Help?
squirmingitch replied to Annoyed's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Planters is a Kraft company and a trusted company. They will always disclose gluten or any allergens. If you pick up a can of them & read after the ingredients it will say something like, "Manufactured on equipment that processes peanut, other tree nuts." That's what my can of cashews says. I'm a cashew freak. Kraft & therefore Planters always gives... -

Great suggestions above. Nuts! Eat nuts. Whatever nuts you like. Macadamia contain a lot of fat -- maybe more than any of the others. Eat before you go to bed so you don't burn off calories but instead sleep on them. -

ARCHIVED fatigue while adjusting to gluten-free?
squirmingitch replied to elizabelle's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I was suffering from extreme fatigue as a product of celiac and then it got even worse after going gluten free. Mine lasted about 2 months. There is such a thing as gluten withdrawal & fatigue is one of the most common symptoms. -
ARCHIVED Only 1 test positive??
squirmingitch replied to SpeechM's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Do you have copies of the celiac panel? Could you post the test results along with the reference ranges? It could be (often is) that your doc did not perform the current FULL celiac serum panel. -

ARCHIVED Starting Out On A gluten-free Diet
squirmingitch replied to SuzieQ1234's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Well you can go gluten free now at least. Kudos for sticking with it for 6 weeks; I know it wasn't easy. They usually can't see the damage with the scope; that's why biopsies are necessary. Let us know how they turn out please. -

squirmingitch replied to Bfofaceliac94's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
IMHO the best way to handle this is for you to only eat gluten when you're away from home. Brush your teeth very well before kissing her after you've eaten any gluten or any of her allergens. It's wonderful that you are supporting her so! Read the Newbie 101 in the Coping section & that will give you a lot of tips. Be sure to follow & read... -

Hello MissL from a fellow Floridian. I'm in north central FL. Yes, you can enjoy pizza again! Your local Publix carries Against The Grain gluten-free pizza & it's delicious!
