ARCHIVED Starkist Mexican Tuna Pouch?
squirmingitch replied to Elle4916's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The ingredients in that product are: Ingredients: Light Meat Tuna, Jalapeno Peppers, Sunflower Oil, Red Bell Peppers, Vinegar, Water, Salt, Sugar, Maltose, Natural Flavors. I would suspect the Jalapeno peppers. I can't imagine a damaged gut handling jalapeno's too well. -

squirmingitch replied to AaronsWife's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Bone broth. Made this way: Open Original Shared Link Many, many people have found this is one of the only things they can get down & will stay. It's rich with nutrients and nourishment. Fresh pears but you might want to cook them in some water to make it easier for him to digest but don't try the canned ones as they will be full of sugar. -
ARCHIVED Possible Celiac, Negative Blood Test
squirmingitch replied to kitty-el's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Kitty, if any of your relatives who have celiac are first degree relatives then you should be tested every 2 years or sooner if symptoms present and with you the symptoms are presenting. Be SURE to tell your doc you have celiac in the family. We can't stress enough that if you've been eating gluten free or gluten light then you will need to do a gluten challenge... -
I'm sorry, I didn't see your post earlier when I posted. I don't think it's the Riceworks mainly because I had not eaten them in a couple weeks. I am realizing now that it's more a problem with the oats reaction ie: oat cc. So I'm going to be on a learning journey again on how to protect myself only this time there are not the same rules as dealing with...

squirmingitch replied to ckd0822's topic in Super Sensitive People
I agree with Barty. -
I called Udi's this morning. They of course have products containing cert. gluten-free oats such as cookies, granola bars etc... Because oats are not one of the top 8 allergens they do not clean the lines between runs of oat containing products and those not containing oats. So the lady I spoke to told me there is the possibility of cross contamination with...

ARCHIVED Gluten Intolerance?
squirmingitch replied to Victor10's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yes, it's possible. It is quite common for celiacs to have really severe reactions if they have gluten after having gone gluten free. Besides needing to stay on gluten for the tests this is why we tell people DO NOT go gluten free until testing is complete & that includes an endoscopy. Despite our advice a lot of people decide they will go gluten-free... -
ARCHIVED Recently Diagnosed And Needing Advice
squirmingitch replied to Zachm's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
All of the above is excellent advice. Also you can be wonky for anywhere from a couple months to 6 months or a year. Your body is going through a big upheaval process. Even though gluten was going to kill you - your body is rebelling at not having gluten. You can expect good days & bad days. You didn't get sick overnight and you won't heal overnight... -
We do the snack packs of pudding too. These days we don't eat enough of it to make it ourselves. Used to be we would make a package & wipe the whole thing out in 1 sitting but not anymore. Does your store carry Against The Grain frozen pizza? No soy oil -- no soy at all. We LOVE it! Oh, wine? What's that? i'll have to try that sometime.

Thanks Arlene. Well, next time you have them I can tell you a nifty thing to do with them. It's sort of a twist on Chicken Cordon Bleu. Cook the tenders, then wrap them in deli ham & then wrap in swiss cheese, put back in the oven or toaster oven & bake a few minutes until everything's hot & cheese is melted.

Does anyone eat this product regularly? Recently? Open Original Shared Link I've been cc'd somewhere & I'm trying to nail it down as to what product it was. We have a gluten-free household since my hubs is celiac also. We never eat out. We recently added this product to what we eat. At the same time, we added Udi's bread and Wild Riceworks Sea Salt...

ARCHIVED Gluten Intolerance?

If those threads are old they could be worthless. Ingredients change & one has to check, not just rely on old threads or someone's suspicion or paranoia. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Intolerance?
squirmingitch replied to Victor10's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If you go off gluten then you will have to do a gluten challenge which is specified here: Open Original Shared Link Where in the world did you get that Gas X chewables contain gluten????? They do not. Here is a link for you to read: Open Original Shared Link -
ARCHIVED Gluten Intolerance?
squirmingitch replied to Victor10's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
MAKE SURE YOU CONTINUE EATING A FULL GLUTEN DIET UNTIL ALL TESTING IS COMPLETE. Here are the tests for celiac disease: -Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA and (tTG) IgG -Deamidated Gliadin Peptide (DGP) IgA and (DGP) IgG -EMA IgA -total serum IgA and IgG (control test) -AGA IGA and AGA IgG - older and less reliable tests largely replace by the DGP... -

ARCHIVED Positive Blood Work, Negative Biopsy?
squirmingitch replied to Bttrfly62's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
The bottom line here is that the vast majority of GI's STILL don't understand celiac disease nor how to diagnose it and apparently have their heads up their ass when they think it's okay for you to keep damaging yourself until THEY can see the damage. It's a very sad state of affairs. Those of us who have been on here a while have heard it over & over... -

And don't stop eating a full gluten diet until ALL testing is completed otherwise it invalidates the tests. -
ARCHIVED I Want To Get Tested
squirmingitch replied to cherries's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
cherries, it's imperative that you eat gluten (1 to 2 slices of bread per day) for the 8 to 12 weeks or else you will have a false negative on your blood tests. We really can't stress that enough. -
ARCHIVED Cheerios
squirmingitch replied to lpellegr's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Barty!!!!I am so hoping this is no fluke of any kind and that you go on feeling no pain forever! Heaven knows there are enough people out there who say they've tried this & it works like a charm so I'm going to believe it will for you too. Positive thoughts can't hurt right?
