squirmingitch replied to bartfull's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I hope you get it all figured out Barty and that it's not something like Lupus or psoriatic arthritis. I know both of those would really put a cramp (pun NOT intended) in your guitar playing & therefore your living. Thank goodness you got a doc who actually listens!!! Hooray for small wonders. -

I'm livid too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh man! Not again!!!!! This kind of thing has happened before. I just thought this time he knew what the heck he was doing. Okay, so now I'm thinking when you get the "celiac serum panel" back it won't have been the "celiac serum panel" - at least not the complete panel. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sorry. ... -

She survived to 14, she's survived many infections, she survived the trip to the UK to get the transplant, she survived TWELVE hours of transplant surgery! Eloise believes... -

Psalm 139 The Inescapable God To the leader. Of David. A Psalm. 1 O Lord, you have searched me and known me. 2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away. 3 You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. 4 Even before a word is on my tongue, O Lord, you know it completely. ... -

Raven, is this the double lung or the pancreas or all of them - do you know? And while we're at it folks, let's not forget that some child lost their life and that's why the organs are available so let's remember that child & that child's family in our prayers too. -
ARCHIVED Any Chance This Is Dh? And Biopsy Question
squirmingitch replied to davenbacker's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
I know you would really like to have a formal dx but the odds against that are pretty astronomical unless you do a gluten challenge. Yes, you have to be consuming gluten for a dh biopsy just like with the celiac blood panel. Sorry. There have been no studies that I have seen where someone with dh who was gluten free for a long time & got cc'd & ran... -
ARCHIVED Chicken
squirmingitch replied to blahblah's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
If the grill was clean then grilled chicken breast is gluten free. That is assuming there are no sauces on the breast. if there are then you must make sure the sauces used are gluten free. Wild rice is gluten free! HOWEVER restaurant foods are always chancy. There is much potential for cross contamination. You need to become very proficient at grilling... -

ARCHIVED I Need Help Deciding What Flours To Get To Make Gluten Free Bread
squirmingitch replied to glutenfreemomma188's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
This does not use a bread machine but it's GREAT gluten-free bread!!!!! The only thing that will break when you bend it around a hot dog is the crust. Otherwise it fits all your criteria. Open Original Shared Link The basic flour blend recipe is there & scroll down for the bread recipe. It's best if you use gluten-free bread pans as they are higher... -

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just when it was all going so well. Some dumbass comes along & throws a pipe into the spokes of the wheel. Okay, so when you get the blood work results back that was just done the other day -- the full panel -- then you can go from there. Hey, you might not have to go any farther at all. If the dh biopsy... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Or Ncgs?
squirmingitch replied to Bttrfly62's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
And because you keep asking the question then I will assure you of the answer. You DO NOT have NCGI. There is no test for NCGI as of this time and NCGI will NOT show any positives on the tests you were given. You do have celiac disease. Now, all your first degree relatives should be tested every 2 years. Celiac can present at any age. AND there is such... -

squirmingitch replied to mmontequ's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Just to make you aware of the symptoms of celiac disease here is a link to the list -- it is LONG. You see, there is more to celiac disease than stomach pain, skin rash & anemia. In fact half of all diagnosed celiacs did NOT present with any GI issues. Don't feel bad that you did not know that because most doctors don't seem to be aware of it & that... -
