  1. I think she is actually onto our plot, which is the reason she lives up in all that snow. Mere self preservation. She'll leave as soon as the snow is gone, flying away like a little bird, out of our reach for the summer. I have my beef macaroni, which I swear isn't a casserole in the fridge that I can have for dinner. I have no idea what my husband will...
  2. Tonight was leftover pork roast with some garlic taters. There were veggies to go with it for me, and some mac & cheese. Other than cutting up a tater and throwing it in the oven, dinner was 100% microwavable. It was that kind of day. The good news is that I'm still semi-vertical-ish. Tomorrow will be a better day.
  3. sneeting..... *snicker* I do not miss the sneet from back east. Yesterday was a perfect Utah spring day. It was sunny all day with a blue sky and a few white puffy clouds and a nice 60F. We have had daffodils blooming a few weeks here, so I imagine they'll be gone soon. Yards are green everywhere now. Every time I leave the house or open a...
  4. I don't know what my pain issue is. MS? CRPS? Something else? We're trying to find out but have very limited means at the moment. It was moderate with my left leg for a while. Then in January started getting worse and spreading to my left arm and shoulder. It is worse than bad. I've dealt with the fibro thing, this isn't that. Heck, this makes the all over...
  5. That sounds like a fantabulous day. (You know, not counting the waking up part.) Hopefully you can avoid that allergic nonsense as much as possible though. Not anyone's idea of a particularly good time I am sure. Plus, 100% is overrated. Then people just expect more from you. It isn't so much what kind of percent we wake up with, it is all in being...
  6. I'm doing a melatonin, zine and magnesium cocktail for bed now. There was some study in Italy or something, I read about it and decided it can't be entire useless and bought the stupid pills. Never heard of 5-HTP but I guess I can research it. I saw the doctor on Thursday and he says the fact that I am dreaming so frequently is good. I was like, omg,...

    ARCHIVED In N Out

I know people have talked about In N Out before. I know the general consensus is that they are safe, maybe don't eat the grilled onions. I did contact them a while back about soy, just to make sure I could still eat there. I wanted to be sure what kind of oil they used in their fryers and what was in their shakes. Turns out I can still eat whatever I want...
  8. Anything that awesome deserves celebrating! I've questioned things similar to this with my kids. One of them doesn't like mint at all, no kind of mint, not mint teas, not mint chocolate brownies, nothing minty. I asked her if she was maybe switched at birth. The response of course was "mooooooooooooom!!!!" The other one who found out she is lactose...
  9. So, I know I was just here, but I found this cause someone posted it on facebook. I was thinking this looked good for supper. I may have paraphrased some of the directions, and I also clearly remember that a "box" of macaroni comes in either 8 or 16 ounces and have figured out that works out to 2 or 4 cups of my pasta uncooked. Not sure what size box they...
  10. Well, I guess it is fitting for that to be Irish. Probably playing with her bike streamers. It is good to see more people around here, liven the place up a bit on our down days. I have no idea what I am cooking today, I am up earlier than normal because in my brilliance last night I forgot to take my flonase and I woke up stuffy, sore throat and coughing...
  11. At first I waited to see what foods I would like best before deciding on what types of cookbooks to buy. I was a pasta and bread junkie. Over time I have learned that the internet is my best friend. My "cookbook" is a three ring binder of printed out recipes, I only keep what I like. I also use my old Betty Crocker and Better Homes and Gardens cookbooks extensively...
  12. I was on that for a while, but keep in mind that it will be different from every manufacturer. If you contacted the manufacturer and the have verified it is gluten free, as opposed to having just read on the internet that it is, then you are most likely suffering from side effects. If they are more than you want to put up with, make a new appointment with...
  13. I found this hysterical. My husband may think I'm crazy because I'm always off in my corner laughing. I managed today to roll myself out of bed, get dressed and ready and get dinner in a crock pot all before 1 so I can take off to the doctor. I even managed to apply a blow dryer to my head so I don't look like a mangy animal when I leave the house...
  14. I'm really careful with all of my personal care products that I use from the neck up, my lotion since it goes on my hands and everything I use in the shower. (I have a terrible habit of doing moronic things like putting my razor handle in my mouth while applying shaving lotion.) I figure with makeup, which I wear pretty rarely, if I am getting my face cleaner...
  15. They sound interesting. Sadly most convenience foods are off limits to me (especially vegetarian) because of soy. Oh well, at least someone has something they can enjoy that is simple. I know how much that is worth.
  16. Tillamook is sooooo good!! And buying it in huge bricks at Costco is still half the price of the cheap cheese at any other store. I know it is just cheese and some people would talk about how it shouldn't matter, the kind of thing parents saving money lie to kids about, but it really matters what brand you buy.
  17. Tillamook medium cheddar. My husband prefers a milder cheddar and I am all about the sharpest I can get my hands on so we compromise. I usually add a little something else, but was feeling too lazy to shred my mozz tonight. (Yes, even though I have the KitchenAid attachment.)
  18. There are a lot of natural cleaners, you can generally find one that suits your preferences online with a little poking around. I haven't started having a problem yet with my scrubbing bubbles so I am still using them so far. Keeping my fingers crossed that it holds out as long as possible.
  19. I think I have an addiction. We had a late lunch with burgers, and I smothered mine in fried shrooms, onions and peppers with some cheese so I didn't even think about supper til late. By the time I was hungry all I wanted was mac & cheese. This is the danger in buying a 5 pound brick of cheese at Costco. I wasn't super hungry so all I had was the mac...
  20. I don't drink at all, but I won't deny that some nights that sounds like a good plan!
  21. I haven't developed any new food allergies, but got a new allergy anyway. I guess I decided to be allergic to penicillin last summer. I can not begin to describe the joys of that. I believe I am also developing some chemical allergies as sometimes around certain types of colognes and perfumes (I haven't identified which, but certain people for sure) I find...
  22. Our area is pretty limited, but I can certainly do something about the lighting on latest nights. The reason there isn't any earlier wiggle room is because one of the people gets off work and gets home just in time already, it has been previously discussed. The in game place we go to right now is pretty dark, so that is covered too. Unless we get a first...
  23. They did check my thyroid and everything checked out fine. The only reason I am sure it is fine is because after it was tested I made them read back the test results because I wanted to make sure they actually tested me and not just pseudo tested me. It is about the only thing in four freaking years that entire clinic got freaking right. I have plenty of...
  24. Last week was perfect weather. Yesterday was chilly, with rain all day and just ick. We've got snow falling in the mountains and it I know there is a wind advisory. I haven't been out or even upstairs yet today to look out at what it looks like out there. The weather report says snow, rain and 42 today. EW! I have plans to get the last of my medical records...
  25. This is going to sound stupid to a bunch of people who don't understand, but I'll try to explain anyway. On Friday and Saturday nights is my sole and exclusive social activity. This takes place from 10 pm until 1 am in a video game. Several years ago I quit doing this (on a different schedule back then) and spiraled into a deep and near suicidal depression...
