  1. SNEET!!! Sounds like fun times.
  2. I get to pick and choose for a ring, December and June. I either want a black pearl and turquoise or alexandrite and zircon. While I absolutely love the tanzanite, it would look terrible next to June's stones. Of course, I have to stop being poor too. A girl can dream. For now I better shuffle off to the kitchen or the only dinner we're going to have...
  3. I got boned on my birthstone. Garnet? Seriously? It is the color of old, dried, crusted blood. Ewwwww! My oldest daughter lucked out, December and her favorite color is blue.

    ARCHIVED Crusade

We don't have money for fancy things at this point in our lives. I told my husband though that if he ever gets it in his head to buy me jewelry, I want green ribbon emerald earrings. There is nothing wrong with advocating for whatever thing... but seriously, as you said, who the hell is not aware of the 40985205846 kinds of cancer we're all supposed to...
  5. I'm not really sure when it happened. I grew up obsessed with purple. Not just a little but enough that I had tantrums when we redid my bedroom when I was 6 and got a purple carpet. Then... somehow I migrated to pink. Maybe it is in part because I look terrible wearing purple. But, more than half of my shirts are pink. Even my sneakers are pink! If my husband...

    ARCHIVED Crusade

I am also using one of those banners. But, having that doesn't shove it in everyone's face every day. Already my youngest daughter today asked if she should be tested. I haven't pushed the issue because my oldest has been very ill and needed to be tested before she got pushed off the insurance she was on. (They live with their dad, I don't get to just march...
  7. I forgot about the single gluten nightmare I had. I was at a fair and for some reason was wandering alone and meeting my husband somewhere. I was on my way to meet him and was starving. I passed by a corn dog stand and thought that sounds delicious! I had eaten half of one before I remembered that corn dog doesn't mean gluten free dog. I woke up in a...

    ARCHIVED Crusade

I have started a personal crusade this month. I have been waiting on pins and needles for May. I'm never silent about the fact that I have celiac and I don't hide it under the rug or behind the couch. On the other hand, my family is 2000 miles away and I don't get much of an opportunity to shove it in their faces which is very much what I want to do. Not...
  9. We're supposed to be getting a TJ's in the future. I roll my eyes a little at the when though. Could be months, all I know now is the shopping center they'll be at.
  10. Bahaha! That sounds about par for the course in this house. Many many years ago I worked in a small local hotel at the front desk. I worked the occasional night shift which I rather liked. All was quiet by about midnight and I could do my rounds of the hotel and read a book. Then the bar closed at 2, after which I would mop and lock up. Then, until I...
  11. If a significant amount of the fear came on after the glutening, it is possible that it is not simply because you got glutened that you fear gluten. Maybe it is a part of your response to a glutening. It is normal to have responses such as anxiety and nightmares. I have responses to gluten that last 4-6 weeks, different symptoms lasting different amounts...
  12. She looks highly suspicious. Tonight I am cooking a boneless turkey roast. I love easy dinners. Pan. Oven. Two hours. I can worry about veggies at the end or something.
  13. It isn't impossible, merely daunting. I am also an avid My Little Pony fan, and could cite what feels like a billion reasons why the show is now obviously made for adults and nerds, not for 8 year old girls. There really is nothing in quite like ponies to bring a smile.
  14. Open Original Shared Link I get the super seeded multi-grain, because that is what I have available to me in the store. Also, I like getting brown bread. Of course, I also like cheap bread! Having it preservative free though just is 500 kinds of awesome for me.
  15. In short? Open Original Shared Link Before the worst of it hit me several years ago I was very much a different person. I eventually became housebound because of a variety of circumstances. In short, it is because this stupid disease took too much from me. I am finally taking back. I have back now what it takes to do things for myself and leave the house...
  16. That is a good deal! I've been getting mine for a steal at Costco. I pay $7.99 for two loaves. I forget what brand but I'll look the next time I'm in the kitchen. It is a beautiful brown loaf of bread covered in sunflower seeds and with a pretty low carb count from what I am used to and with a ton of fiber. I also can't get over having preservative free...
  17. We're getting a hard freeze tonight. Last week I was leaving my plants out overnight a little. Not so much now, it has been too chilly overnight and certainly tonight will be too cold for anything alive. Fortunately things like tulips and daffodils seem not to mind and survived the last hard freeze intact so I'm sure they'll be just as beautiful tomorrow...
  18. I have come close to losing part of a toe many many times. Still, I never wear shoes in the kitchen. Impressive feat to manage to lose part of two digits in one night!
  19. That is my kind of price range! Now to just get on track to remember something that is a week away.
  20. Qapla' Or, for those who aren't complete dorks and don't know what that means, gratz on your success!
  21. Enjoy your spring thaw! I'm sure we all can't wait to hear the amazing things you'll have to share with us.
  22. So we were at the doctor's office today for my husband to have a checkup. He has diabetes so this is a pretty regular thing we go through. He has had some elevated liver enzymes and they are rechecking that to see if it has changed or not since last fall. I asked if they could do a full celiac panel since they were already drawing blood. The doctor then looked...
  23. My Grammy spent her entire life extremely healthy until she had lyme a few years ago. She still managed to always call me by one of her two daughters' names when I was little. One because I looked like her and the other because I acted like her. I managed to call my girls by the wrong name on occasion also. Today we brought some groceries home and while...
  24. Last week, or maybe it was two weeks ago, I can hardly remember now... I got my vinegar rinse in my eye when I was in the shower. Later the same day I was cutting some mildly spicy peppers and didn't wash well enough and rubbed my same eye. Burnt like hell omg! Then something like two or three days later my husband had to come tell me while I was in the shower...
  25. My best friend who used to be my roommate has always complained that I made her fat while we were living together. How? My insomnia. How does my insomnia make other people fat? Well, things like tonight happen. When you are tired and can't sleep you get bored. When you are bored, you get hungry. When you grew up baking and are bored and hungry, you migrate...
