  1. No, it is different from coconut milk. I think it hydrates better than water. It has extra nutrients (Potassium and Magnesium, I believe) , It is considered a sport drink, but it is without sugar. (Watch label) If you live in a tropical location you might get it straight from a young coconut. However, I buy 100% coconut water in a can. Last illness...
  2. I am going to watch this hoping to hear more. My bladder would be irratated with gluten for sure. For hyperactivity make sure that she gets enough sleep. I have noticed that children act this way when they are tired, even if they are normal kids. Also, keep junk food out of her diet. "The Feingold Diet for Hyperactive Children" is a plan my mother used...
  3. I tend to get dehydrated and find that coconut water is a good thing. I like a brand that is called "Coconut juice" or another brand called "blue Monkey." If you are use to sodas just consider that this is more like water. I am used to no sweets whatsoever and it has a wonderful sweet taste for me. Your body might be cleaning out. My doctor explained...
  4. I ran that idea by my Osteopathic doctor. He thought it might be too astringent. I still wonder, because I have seen so many aloe vera miracles with other things. He offered glutamine, but warned that yeast like it. Sure enough my son got his yeast infection back over time. Just to clarify my son did not have celiac, but small intestine damage due...
  5. Well, I had a simalar response last evening to eating somewhere else. I brought my own food. My foods were lamb, kelp noodles, and an almond muffin. All of the foods I have been okay in the past. All foods made at home from scratch. I am having some for lunch, but not the ones I took alongs, but some I left home. I am thinking that rules out a problem...
  6. I recall some discussion on dehydration in the past, so you might try searching for it. From my own memory in 2007(in my gluten days) I spent the summer drinking cup after cup of water and still feeling thirsty. The doctor checked for diabetes and kidney trouble, but they were negative.
  7. Sometimes when they take blood they store extra incase you decide to do other tests. Check with the lab. Diana
  8. Coconut water contains both potassium and magnesium.
  9. Daytime 10: Oh, eczema, I use to deal with that, but mine was in a few places only. I feel for you. The MD's inability to find the root cause made me to consider natural health care. I hope that you get consistently better, but you may experience bumps along the way. Keep up the good work and keep on toward recovery. There are many things you can...
  10. Refined means it has been heated. The raw coconut oil is supposed to be the most natural and nutritious. When you say regular coconut oil I think it would be refined.
  11. Yeah, keep on track. I have had adventourous eating out many times lately. I sit in the parking lot of the fast food place my family is in. I eat in the car. Last time the temp outside was around 4 degrees F! Don't worry, I kept the heat going. Oh, the yummy food I have tantelized my family with while driving. I have a car oven and the sweet potato...
  12. I found I needed to read the labels on salt carefully. I am okay with sea salt and no caking agents. One company used corn to get their anti-caking agent and my body didn't tolerate that. Beet chips (Or potato, or sweet potato.) I have made leafy vegetable chips like this also. 1/4 cup oil 4 servings of beet or veggie slices potato 1 pinch salt...
  13. What was I thinking? I know the symptoms of bloating, fatigue, and fogginess were there 30 years. The doctors couldn't seem to come up with any answers when I thought I needed them. I had eczema which could not be solved. I had vomiting and nausea in pregnancy and that could not be solved. Anyway, so I didn't trust doctors with my health. I turned...
  14. I sure think that with your symptoms you would want to check into it. Celiac can be helped by diet, so if you have it, you should be able to get well. I am hoping you will get some definative answers with the help you need. Diana
  15. Oh, so sorry you have to suffer this. All I can say is to keep giving yourself every chance to heal. I did college with a cloudy head, long ago. I am so glad that you have discovered what is wrong. Get Well Soon*** Diana
  16. I hope that you will be motivated to follow the diet, find a doctor that can get to the root of your problem, find this forum and substitutions for dairy, AND get better. I don't think your symptoms are all in your head, perhaps the doctor cannot figure them out, but it doesn't mean that fogginess, fatigue, and diarrhea are normal. Hang in there and get...
  17. Hang in there. I usually feel my absolute worse just before the sun comes through the storm clouds. I say any reaction (good or bad feelings) is a good one. Something is happening. I hate to have to see anyone have to go through the hard part, but it is the way for you it seems. I had one week of bliss after beginning gluten free, so it is possible...
  18. Hi! Perhaps the ill feelings are particially due to withdrawl. Don't listen to them too much. Just do your best every day. I hope you will feel better soon and get some definative answers. Diana
  19. I am so glad that you doctor picked up on this! I am so glad that now you know how to solve your health problems. I hate to see anyone go through withdrawl, but it is good to know that sometimes when you feel the worst that the best day is coming soon. That has been how it is for me. Keep on looking for answers and the keys that help your problems....
  20. I have had symptoms of celiac for 30 years during which I had 5 whole, healthy, children, albeit I had an early misscarriage before the five. I am happy the Lord gave me all five of them. I didn't know I had celiac disease until recently. Watch your nutrient level and get some good supplements to optimize for the little ones. I hope you will do well and...
  21. You can have your nutrient levels checked to see if you are deficient somewhere. I printed off your write up. I found it really interesting about when you have the Neurological things you rarely have the GI things. I noticed a couple things of late about my experience. I had very little GI stuff over 30 years of symptoms. I did have bloating big time...
  22. Thanks for trying to do the best for your daughter and having compassion also. You have taken a step on a journey- and now keep walking. Good health for your daughter is ahead. Keep making progress. There are several things that help heal. The whole foods, you have already started.will help. You will want to stay engaged in learing about it. You never...
  23. ONly a comment from my own experience. Meat is digesting best with me and veggies really aren't. Not knowing what is really going well for you, I would continue a varied diet. I have had stuff coming through unchanged. I am taking digestive enzymes and soon a product to help heal my gut. I also take quality supplements which are easier to digest then...
  24. I didn't begin to lose the bloating until 6 months grain free.
