  1. Zone 3. The temp is below zero of late. People do it; the heat would only be worth it if one had to, for sure. I do have a garden in the summer and freeze and can. This has really been a blessing for us. There isn't any gluten in the tomatoes, if I can ever eat them again. Diana
  2. Is there such a thing? And then I have trouble with corn too.
  3. I like the idea of testing nutrient levels and taking high quality supplements of nutrients you are deficient in. A case might be able to be made for taking supplements that other people with celiac need. If you have an intestinal problem you have less ability to absorb nutrients from food. As you recover you would need less. I am sorry about other...
  4. No problem: INstead of corn have a starchy food like potato, or have sweet potato, or substitute bread. Peanuts: Try Brazil, hazlenut, walnut, pecan, or almond. You can find nut butters made from these too. Watermelon cantelope: Peach, strawberry, blueberry, apple, plum, pear or other. Organic is expensive, so split fruits with your family and have...
  5. . : Corn substitutes: buckwheat, almond flour, bean flours Peanut: almond, hazlenut, or other nut butters Tomato: A touch of lemon juice was a flavorful alternative for me. If you can tolerate spices pizza spice, or Chili powder add hot flavor. Carrot:: Try a baked sweet potato. All you do is prick the skin, place in pan or foil, place in oven...
  6. Right, I grind my ownalmond and bean flours usually. It is flours such as bean and also carob that I think gave me this trouble. So, do you use no flours?
  7. Must I call every company for everything I buy or suffer the consequences? I hate to get started calling every company for everything I buy since my family already thinks I spend too much time on this stuff. Please anyone, short cut.
  8. "I"m pretty okay with being gluten free at this point, the only thing holding me back from going full out and never "slipping" (sometimes I eat gluten things that people bake or something) is that I'm scared of making the sensitivity worse. Since I have been eating gluten free (and then later mostly gluten free) it takes way less for me to have stomach issues...
  9. A yeast infection may make you crave dairy if you cut back on other carbs. I did experience hunger cravings when I cut out gluten. I don't think it is unusual or anything. Diana
  10. I tested negative for blood antibodies at 2 weeks post gluten also. I remained "gluten free" but several weeks later, I tested positive. I did have some inssues with cross contamaination and surprise sources of gluten between the tests. I forgot to mention that I have had many of the symptoms you mentioned having had. Fatigue, rosy cheeks, and cold...
  11. The forum won't let me say. They say this company spammed them. But I did have a good experience, so I don't quite understand it. I tried to PM you, but it showed up back in my own box. ?
  12. I keep trying to think back before I had symptoms. I keep remembering concerns way back. Fatigue was my greatest symptom. I remember laying my head on my desk in elementary school. I also remember extremely high white blood counts( without illness) that red flagged possible allergies. I remember anemia and urine tracing blood. I remember the enamel...
  13. I knew corn made me bloat before I knew about gluten. Now, I also react to rice. I agree with the infomation found on that website, if it is the same one that has been banned, that I tried to post about. Perhaps not all need to be that strict... but for me it works! I am still eating beans, but eyeing the reactions cautiously. The people associated...
  14. I had food allergy/intolerance tests done. I ended up doing what I so dreaded, namely going on a rotational diet. But it took about 4 days and my fogginess/fatigue left, I exchanged it for a calm after the storm feeling. When you focus on what you might miss, it is sad, and to be honest you will miss it. But all and all it can be such a cheerful exchange...
  15. I ran out of iron supplement lately and got insatiable appetite. I don't understand all of it, but I think I have hypoglycemia issues going along with it. Maybe it is just because I have been succombing to eating alot of fruit. Diana
  16. I had foggy mind issues when I was eating gluten, and when I was withdrawing from gluten. I also had them when I was repeat- eating foods I was intolerant to. By repeat -eating I mean more than once every four days. At first when I got glutened the brain fog returned. Now, I get diarrhea instead. Come to think of it I had brain fog when I was constipated...
  17. If I get a food I am intolerant of I sometimes get really sad even though I have good circumstances. Now, when that happens, I figure I just have to hold on for a couple of days and will begin to feel better again.
  18. I would like to know. I use to carry about 30 extra lbs of water weight around in my pre gluten free and pre supplement days.
  19. I had an Elisa test. I believe it looked for IgG, total IgA and IgE. I had IgG antibodies to Pracitically everything I was eating. I could not cut out eatting everything, so I am doing a rotational diet and eating them all.
  20. I hope you will soon be having a happy gluten free life! Keep your mind on analyze! Diana
  21. I hope you will feel better soon. Have you had your nutrient levels checked? Do you take supplements for any nutrient needs? Might you be taking in something with wheat in it? I have dealt with many of these in my own life. I don't have the pinprick feeling, but am numb. A doctor suggested that vitamin B12 might be short. I had blood tests and it...
  22. I haven't ever focused on the scale, but on eating what is healthy. This rules out sweets. I have had 4 cookies in 5 years, and those were in the first year. I don't crave sweets any more. I would rather dream about them! Make sure you take in good fats with each meal like olive, coconut, and butter (ghee). These will make you feel full and keep you...
  23. It may be a good thing to test nutrient levels. Then you can give only the needed nutrients. I did a nutra-val test for mine.
  24. Check if you can get sample results. Check to see if they explain the result. I used another company and was given an explanation of what the test means and counseled on diet. I felt they were very generous. Diana
  25. For the tests (I dummo if IGG or IGA) they look for antibodies to a varity of foods or allergens. It sounds like you were for sure tested for gluten. Often they run atleast 10 other foods with it. Diana
