  1. How long have you had symptoms? The longer with a problem the longer healing. Many people are not completely healed in that time. I suggest testing for nutritional needs and supplementing, considering digestive enzymes, and check for other food intolerances. Then give it time. Get well*** Diana
  2. I think yes, I don't feel giddy just now, but I sure hope this feeling right feeling lasts.
  3. I had exzema throughout my teens and early twenties. It went away. I did several things that might have helped. I did not know that I had celiac at the time. I began a supplement program as recommended by a chiropractor. I covered my hands with rabbit fur gloves as soon as the weather cooled in fall. I learned how to make homemade soap. Now, I won...
  4. "Restaurants use to be a fun place to go, now they just seem like torture." Juliedove Yeah, which is why I will not go there. Maybe once at the end of the vacation. There is no way to have me at a restaraunt. I don't have room for everyone's food in the family in the car oven. So if you see a person sitting in the car eating her dinner at Chipotle...
  5. So, would you consider it your choice to not dine in restaurants? I was recently told it was my choice and it did not sit too well for me. Choice seems like whatever one prefers to do? But I would rather eat with the family (rather than in the car by myself) and have someone do the cooking for me. However, I can't take that risk on vacation? Is that...
  6. I had a nutrient blood test and was found short of pancreatic enzymes, so that is why I decided to take them. I am almost certainly swollen, but have been arguing with my doctors about it. I say swollen, but they just say I am the shape I am! I didn't get a marker test for swelling. I keep wondering if I "should" look emaciated, but I am not. I haven...
  7. I recently started rotational diet, pancreatic enzymes, and vitamin B 12. Sorry all of you scientific people to start 3 things at once, but that is where I am at. 1 My tummy is noisy, noisy, noisy. 2 I am experiencing some pain in the lower abdomen. 3 My pants are getting too short. Okay, what I think I mean is that I am losing tummy and must pull...
  8. I do have problems knocking out viruses. I am hoping that continously getting the right nutrients and probiotics will help recovery and eventually help the immune system recover. I hope you will have success in overcoming it. Sorry you both have to go through this and I hope it will be better soon. Diana
  9. For sure until I stop eating whatever got me. It took weeks before I figured out the buckwheat being cross contiminated.
  10. Today I got into meat broth of the day. It is cold in MN and since I feel cool whether I am in or out warm broth seemed to hit the spot. I had boiled pork roast for dinner last evening. I left the broth cooking all night. In the morning I had concentrated broth as good as I have ever tasted. For supper tonight I made some chicken stew. The scraps and...
  11. Yes, the gluten in the medicene might mess you up a whole lot. You found that now and have changed it. Look for other sources, be on your guard, and get better. Diana
  12. I had a nutrient absorption blood test called Nutri-VAL from Genova labs. This found I was very low in pancreatic enzymes. I will check if it has the threee mentioned seperate, but I think I need all around help with digestion. I highly recommend taking such a test, so you can find out the best way for you to heal. Diana
  13. It is hard, isn't it? We can't readily see the damage going on inside.
  14. I went from 19-45 years with anemia. However, when I was put on a supplement it raised it inspite of untreated celiac. I never went for the cheapest, but had my health professional select for me. IF you stay on a gluten free diet and continue work on healing you will take a while to overcome withdrawl (if you have it) and cross contamination issues. I...
  15. Barley has less gluten. Hmm?
  16. I am getting into a rotational diet. I feel better. I think I have been trying it for about a month now. I was intolerant to nearly everything I was eating. I must eat things I don't tolerate well, so I eat them in rotation. I try not to repeat a food for atleast 4 days. I start my day at supper and end with the following lunch. That way I can have...
  17. I found out Thursday that I was also deficient in vitamin D. Oh, I thought, I look even more like a celiac then ever.
  18. Ahh, I could have wrote this about foods myself. I can't eat grains, dairy, or store bought flours recently in my refrigerater. However, I now have a two month plan with a 4 day rotational diet plan. I don't think I will be starving. Tonight I had: zucchini sweet potato carrots fennel bulb Buffalo patty butter olive oil. WOW. I don't usually...
  19. I am sorry you are in such a state. It is possible you inadvertantly ingested some gluten or are having withdrawl symptoms. Try to stick with unprocessed foods. Meat, eggs, vegetables, fruits, these are easiest to see they are gluten free. Poached eggs go good for me. Put a substantial amound of water in a pan and bring to a boil. Put warm eggs, (these...
  20. I just discovered my buckwheat and another big bag of food are not good for me. What do I do with it? I don't dare have it here, for fear of cross contamination or reacting to it in the air. It is 30+ lbs of food in each bag. It has dollar signs of wasted stuff for me. I guess the food shelf won't take open products. Diana
  21. Greetings LJ, Fermentation is adding bacteria or yeast to food. They change it to something else. For example bread, cheese, and acoholic drinks are fermented. Fermentation in many foods brings out a sour flavor. Sour Crowt and sour cream are examples of that. Good foods for me. I tried to start a post on this, but it started and ended with me...
  22. Yes. I used it at first to replace my gluten flour, but when I stopped eating it, my body reacted like it did to gluten withdrawl. But many people seem to get by great with it.
  23. Awesome job caring for your loved ones! Keep up the good work. I would not know if it is celiac, but I know this. Once you are gluten free and your body has a little chance to recover, it can give a more forceful sign when it gets gluten again. If one does not have a problem with gluten time away and back should have not effects. I hope your family...
