ARCHIVED Gluten Free Dog Food Again..
jkmunchkin replied to Yenni's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I feed my dog Wellness. I know it doesn't have wheat, but it does contain barley. Rather than look for gluten free dog food & treats I just wash my hands 8 billion times a day. -

jkmunchkin replied to torontosue's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
The graham crackers from The Grainless Baker make the most delicious graham cracker crust. Especially for cheesecake. That is what I always use. -

ARCHIVED My Doggy On Petsugar
jkmunchkin replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Hehe!! I will say, very cute pose your dog is doing He's a medium size dog. He comes up to about my knee. Only weighs about 25 - 30 lbs., but looks like he weighs a lot more because he's so hairy. -
ARCHIVED My Doggy On Petsugar
jkmunchkin replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Hehe! Thanks. I do brush him every night, which only takes a few minutes. If I let it go for a few days and don't brush him, he can get mats which then become an absolute nightmare; and very time consuming. Right now he is in the stage where he is getting his double coat so I have to pay more attention to it than normal. -

ARCHIVED New Glutino Crackers
jkmunchkin posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Glutino recently came out with flavored varities of their "Ritz" style crackers. They come in Cheddar, Vegetable and Multigrain. I figured I would try the Vegetable first and see how they are. I'm going back for more!!! They are delicious! Even better than just the plain flavor ones. I think next I'll try the Multigrain. -
ARCHIVED Terra Chips
jkmunchkin posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Does anyone else get sick from Terra Chips? I had them a couple years ago & got really sick (felt like I was glutened). I hadn't eaten them since until yesterday. I read the ingredients and figured I'd give them another try because they look to be completely gluten-free and I'm pretty sure others eat them. But lo and behold I got horribly sick again.... -
ARCHIVED New Cookbook From Annalise Roberts
jkmunchkin posted a topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Hi all. I was checking out Annalise Robert's website yesterday (www.gffoodphilospher.com) and noticed that she has done a revised edition of her cookbook. It still has many of the same recipes, but this edition now has 42 new recipes. I emailed her to find out details and she let me know some of the new recipes are: -

ARCHIVED My Dog Is In Lucky & Glamour!
jkmunchkin replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Well it has nothing to do with how my dog ended up doing the shoot, but I actually work for the company where those mags are published, so I kinda don't want to do anything against the rules. I'll see if I can compress the file and upload it onto Flickr though. That should be ok. Basically long story short, I have a friend that works for a regional magazine... -

ARCHIVED It's Not The End Of The World.
jkmunchkin replied to lsmall05's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
When people try and pity me and make it like, "you poor thing." I am the first to say, "It's not the end of the world. It's really no big deal. There are worse things in life." However I think if someone is newly diagnosed they are entitled to wallow in some self pity for a bit. Yipeee for you that you are asymptamic (sp?) and were only sick for 3 months... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free In Valhalla, Ny
jkmunchkin replied to Ms. Celiac's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
None specifically in Valhalla that I know of, but there are a bunch of places in Westchester with gluten-free menus. Last night I went to Maud's Tavern in Hastings. Food was ok, but good enough that I'm willing to try it again. There are 2 Chinese restaurants in Westchester with gluten free menu. Golden Wok in Ardsley (my favorite; I'm there atleast... -
As other have said there is an IGA in town. There is also a health food store that has gluten free cereals and stuff. It's sort of off the beaten path of town. I can't remember the name but someone should be able to direct you to it. I generally bring my muffins from The Grainless Baker for breakfast and their rye bread. I go to the IGA and get pre-packaged...

ARCHIVED How Do I Stop Anorexia Comments
jkmunchkin replied to nikky's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
At 30 years old I am finally a normal weight that I don't look anorexic. I'm still thin, but I no longer get the obnoxious comments that I heard my entire life. I finally got to the point that when people would exclaim, "OMG, you're so skinny! How much do you weigh." I would retort back, with, "Excuse me. But I don't say to you, OMG you're so fat. How... -

Not sure if anyone has posted about this, but I recently discovered the most delicious bread crumbs. They are made by Aleia's. It is a bakery in CT; and until recently only available through them, but are now being carried by many Whole Foods. I haven't tried anything other than the bread crumbs, but definately plan to. The breadcrumbs are very, very...
