  1. I was going to say something similar. Sounds like you already know what you want to do
  2. I have safely eaten oats, however I only buy oats from companies that guarantee they are pure, uncontaminated oats. I have used the oats from Cream Hill Estates without any problems.
  3. Thanks all. I didn't have DH before being gluten free, so I'm not to conerned about that. And as Larry said, I understand that the risk of cross contamintion with an oatmeal shampoo is very small, but you never know, and I just figured I would get a general consensus of what some others use or do before trying it. We did use Johnson & Johnson baby...
  4. My dog has been itching a lot lately (he doesn't have fleas, mites, ect); and before I start switching his food to see if that's the cause, I want to try some sort of shampoo that can possibly help with the itching. (His breed very rarely has food allergies, so I really think it is more likely just topical - atleast I'm hoping). I know oats are safe for...
  5. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATTI!!!!!!!
  6. LOL!! Thanks. Yeah he is an absolute cutey; and tons of fun. He LOVES people and playing with almost all other dogs (there is 1 neighborhood dog and his owner that are mean and all the other dogs dislike him). But other than that he is super friendly. He even loves my inlaws cats. Unfortunately they don't feel the same and he gets kinda upset when they...
  7. I second the suggestion for buying the Authentic Foods Superfine Rice Flour. Until I started using that I also found that everything I baked had a gritty texture. IMO, that is by far the best flour product out there and well worth the extra money.
  8. I just saw a news clip about how the price of wheat has gone up more than 50% and so the cost of everything we can't eat is shooting up. Granted gluten free products already cost so much more than their wheat counterpart, but it still made me smile inside knowing that for once the rising cost of something doesn't affect me.
  9. This is the absolute best molten chocolate souffle. Open Original Shared Link
  10. The lady who waxes my eyebrows always feels the need to comment that my "diet" is just like the Atkins diet. I always just politely say, not really... but I hear ya'.
  11. I actually used that on my salad during lunch yesterday and had no reaction... so I'll confirm it as gluten-free
  12. Absolutely!!! It's sad that some people are just so money hungry and will do anything to make a buck.
  13. A quality magazine takes a lot of money to create and generally several years to become profitable. And by a lot of money, I'm not talking $1 million dollars. I think she just wanted a pet magazine. I know no one agrees with me, but it's her money and she should invest it how she wants. She has created a very successful business with products she is passionate...
  14. Namaste chocolate cake mix. I like to make cupcakes with vanilla frosting.
  15. There is a restaurant in the city that specializes in all kinds of mac n' cheese and upon hearing a rumor a few months that they were going to offer gluten-free mac n' cheese I contacted them to express my interest / support. Well I got an email update this morning that included, "3. Also, in the coming weeks, we will be able to offer all of our mac &...
  16. Very interesting. Sounds like the study is really moving along well. Someone might want to let the news anchors know what gluten is though. I think they might have thought it was sugar (glucose); because at the end they said you can always see the gluten content of what you buy in the supermarket listed on the back of the package. Last time I checked...
  17. [quote name='kenlove' date='Feb 12 2008, 04:13 PM' post='397121' There are 19,000+ members here as well as other celiac groups which should make an impact on someone? A paid circulation of 10,000 members would make a lot of magazines happy!
  18. That's why I posted the other day that it will take a lot more than a few votes on a blog to get this magazine published. It take millions and millions of dollars to make a publication of her quality; and a bunch of votes is not going to be the deciding factor. It will entice them to do more market research and find out if this truly is a real market and...
  19. I can't speak much towards the content, but I doubt Martha Stewart would be disappointed to hear the magazine had a ton of ads. That is how the magazines make their money, not from the subscriptions. You need the subscriptions (and newstand sales) in order to entice advertisers, but your $14 subscription is not what makes money for them. Although, like I...
  20. My guess is if they did do this they would publish it as a special issue, maybe twice a year. Or possibly even have it as a supplemental, polybagged with one of their other relevant publications. I think it would take a lot more than voting on a blog to convince them to spend millions of dollars to do this. None the less... I'm voting
  21. Have you tried the graham crackers from The Grainless Baker? They are sooooo yummy!
  22. I don't have any suggestions for France, but in the US I love the bread by The Grainless Baker. It is slightly smaller than "normal" bread, but I eat sandwiches on it all the time; and it doesn't crumble. My favorite for sandwiches is the mock rye, and I like the cinnamon raisin bread for snack or breakfast. They also have the BEST graham crackers.
  23. I couldn't even begin to come up with a spread, as I never watch sports; but as a good NY'er.... GO GIANTS!
  24. I would definately look into the IUD. Personally I'm on the pill (have been for about 13 years); but I have friends who use the IUD and are very happy with it.
