  1. Nicole, I'm glad its getting looked into further. These "Mysteries" can be so difficult to pin down. Colleen
  2. Errs, Did you mean to include meat in the casein category? There is no casein in meat, Casein is only in dairy. Maybe you meant something else regarding meat? The only way casein can get into meat is intentionally putting it there by a manufacturer. Then it becomes "mystery meat" lol. Colleen
  3. Hi Quest, You said a Colonoscopy showed damage? Did you mean an Endoscopy? Only the Endo will show Celiac damage. The Colonoscopy would show a completely different issue. If all this started in the last month and your routine hasn't changed then maybe you are dealing with another issue. Colleen
  4. Made steak and cheese quesadillas with tons of sour cream and salsa for dipping. Hubs was amazed how I could flip those suckers loaded with stuff. I said I am the new and improved Chef Colleen and then promptly let one of them slip off the plate and land right in front of my waiting Toy Yorkies. Still working on the delivery
  5. Thanks Addy and YES, everything is better with bacon!!!
  6. Having nightmares about Panko Open Original Shared Link
  7. I knew Irish wouldn't last long...lmao Thanks for the recipes and YES I want I will email. I will whip up my first batch with one of those recipes this weekend and I'm going to make Maple Butter for them too. Yummmmmm. Colleen
  8. Hi and welcome to the Forum. Are you talking about the Vagal Nerve in your neck? This would explain your issues. If you ate gluten free since June then you would test negative in October. You must be eating Gluten for an accurate test. Colleen
  9. Addy, forgot all the soy issues. Here I am trying to poison Abbs...Sorry Abbs. I still love Ghiradelli anyways. Colleen
  10. Squirmy, I am glad you said this again. I have noticed a trend in posts of "newer" celiacs or gluten intolerants lately. If a restaurant has a gluten free menu then It must be ok to eat there and people are flocking to eat out all the time. I think its crazy! You can choose a gluten free option at any restaurant, that's not the issue. The issue is...
  11. I am completely sold on Ghiradelli Chocolate. Colleen
  12. Abbs, I got a Rival. I chose regular as opposed to Belgium because I like waffles a bit firmer, crisper instead of doughy. If you get one ask Irish for her waffle recipe. She told me I would love it. Colleen
  13. Yes, I'm learning that these smaller details make a big difference. I'm excited to make the butter. Does it matter if the butter is salted or not salted? And will a drop of vanilla extract work instead of a bean? Thanks, Colleen
  14. Hey Love2, Remember you mentioned Maple Butter the other day? I would really love the know how to make it. And I have my new waffle iron in hand, now I'm all ready for when Irish gets back and I get her recipe for waffles. It's breakfast for dinner here tonight. Yummmmmm. Thanks, Colleen
  15. Abbs...I took a lot of Art History myself. I saw the painting pic this morning. I rather like it. I learn something new everyday !!! I'm glad it's getting better Take Care, Colleen
  16. Hey Abbs, I was researching DH this morning and I came across a guy named Jean-Paul Marat. He lived in the late 1790's. Anyway, It was the opinion, after his death, that he was suffering with a horrid case of DH. He was a Doctor himself. Of course little was known about Celiac/DH so diet change was never a concern. I was reading that he spent most...
  17. I think Lays finally realized how good it is to dip French fries in a Chocolate shake The potato/choco combo can't be beat. Colleen
  18. Abbster, Just know that we are all here to help you get thru this !!! I hope you are able to see some improvement as quickly as possible. I see more baths and foot rubs in your future All my best, Colleen
  19. Listen up you two Funky girls. Healing is a process and can be a dreadfully long, aggravating and painful process. Abster, re-read the DH threads and what Squirmy has has told you and concentrate on being as comfortable as you can. Get as much rest as you can. No iodine, no wheat products on skin and clean diet. You have to get through this part...
  20. Dextrol is from the Aloe Vera plant. I don't see any information that it would be good for energy. I saw a show once, I think it was Anthony Bordain, it was a third world country and they would drink pure aloe. It was funny how people would try to choke it down, it's really slimy. They used it as a kind of fix all elixir. I do have an aloe very plant...
  21. You might ask to have your thyroid tested also. Colleen
  22. You said "So my question to any expert is that if it is normal to still have those symptoms even on a 97% strict diet" It is very normal to still have symptoms when you are 97% gluten free. Celiac Disease requires a 100% gluten free diet otherwise the immune system will not stop attacking. Keep working at cleaning up your diet and you should start seeing...
  23. There is a bright side....Your still alive November, December and into January are Notoriously difficult to get Dr. appointments quickly....Holidays. The up-side of the sleep apnea machine? Keeps you alive during the night. Make it work for you. When things are incredibly crazy for me, I use everything in my "tool box" to get through it. Meditation...
  24. Those are great Karen. Thank you so much.
