  1. Destiny: What do you need help with? I guarantee you that unless you have a dietician that works with the few Celiac centers (like Columbia, or Maryland's, etc), that you have a very slim chance of finding a dietician that knows anything remotely about Celiac. The dietician that works for Dr. Fasano (a leading Celiac researcher) spoke at a recent support...
  2. If you are on a strict gluten free diet and have been for an extended period of time, and are still having problems, then it appears that you have non-celiac issues going on ... or damage from being undiagnosed for a long time. Either way, you may need medical follow up. (I wouldn't want other issues to be going on that get lumped under "celiac" as we all...
  3. Geoff, Thanks so much for sharing...it is good to have encouraging stories like this on here. I appreciate you taking the time to post and telling your story. Its good for the newbies, good for the oldies, and good for you!!!! Laura
  4. Did I mention that I LOOOOOOOOOOVE Dr. Fasano and Dr. Patterson?!!!!!!!
  5. Jessica, I am so sorry for your loss.
  6. Use tinkyada noodles (gluten free) and use your favorite recipe...you should be fine.
  7. Most Pam do NOT have gluten. The only one that I knwo of that does is the one that specifically says flour on the front.
  8. If you were already positive for Celiac via biopsy, you have the gold standard of diagnosis. You are and have been a Celiac.
  9. Unfortunately, the medical community just doesn't know enough about celiac, non-celiac gluten sensitivity, etc, etc etc. You will find a variety of people on this board: some are diagnosed through biopsy, some have unclear test results, some never have any testing....the common theme is that they are on/trying the gluten free diet. Although it isn't the...
  10. If these are the ingredients: CREAM, SKIM MILK, MILK, SUGAR, CORN SYRUP, NATURAL FLAVOR, MONO AND DIGLYCERIDES, CAROB BEAN GUM, GUAR GUM, EGG YOLKS, CARRAGEENAN, BETA CAROTENE. COATING: SEMISWEET CHOCOLATE (SUGAR, CHOCOLATE PROCESSED WITH ALKALI, CHOCOLATE, COCOA BUTTER, MILKFAT, SOY LECITHIN, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS), COCONUT OIL, PALM OIL. I...
  11. I use Hunts and have used generic brands...I have not seen a tomato paste yet that is not safe.
  12. Walter, Did you check the ingredients on the chips? Unless you KNOW it is safe, don't eat it. My two main guesses are: In cleaning up, helping, etc you might have touched something, ad then touched your mouth. My hunch though, is that since you are still new to the diet, you haven't healed, so your body isn't properly digesting food yet. So even...
  13. Thanks for posting this. Even though I'm the Celiac, my husband has worn it everyday for the past year and a half.
  14. Rach, You are more than welcome. Considering how much you postthat is helpful, I'm happy that I can make a contribution. I have the letter from MDL that they sent back when we sent in the wrong type of sample. I'll get it tomorrow and post specifically what type of samples they can take, so that when you call, you can ask to make sure it fits the guidelines...
  15. Donna, that is WONDERFUL news!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Rachel, To my knowledge, they usually don't schedule a specific procedure to take a biopsy for Lyme, but if its available, many doctors ask for it. This goes for if you have an organ removed (gallbladder, tonsils, etc)---they will ask to keep it and then send it off for testing. Also, I don't know how long they keep samples. My guess is at least...
  17. isn't that the truth!!!!!
  18. Patti, you get the award for best celiac.com moderator for the above post
  19. Open Original Shared Link is the lab. I am actually going to try to find out if they still have my tissue samples from Alabama....if so, I want them tested also---to see how long I potentially have had this. All this being said, the testing is like a Celiac biopsy: if its positive, its positive...if its negative...doesn't mean you don't have it ...
  20. Re: tissue testing for Lyme. I am in the process of having that done. So Bev, your LLMD is on top of his stuff! The Bells Palsy article is very good. I just had my Aug/Sept endoscopy samples sent to my doc. When you have it sent, you have to have the PARAFFIN BLOCKS with the samples, not the slides that regular labs analyze. (I learned this, bc...
  21. Steve...happy slightly over one year of being diagnosed! This board truly is a lifesaver, I agree! So many very helpful and KNOWLEDGABLE people. Only requirement is that you stick around and pass it forward
  22. Celiac affects the small intestine, not the colon.
  23. She needs the full celiac panel run....find out what tests were run, what the score was, and what the reference range is. Serologic panel Of the commercially available serologic tests that aid in the diagnosis of celiac disease, no one test is ideal. Using multiple serologies increases the diagnostic yield. Therefore, in the United States, screening...
