  1. My oldest, who has gluten issues, although he tested negative on the tTG IgA, had his mild asthma disappear within months of going gluten-free. I suppose it could have been a coincidence but I'm not a huge believer in medical coincidences. Thanks for the link squirmingitch. Here is another: Open Original Shared Link
  2. I've added protein powder too. It does help. Yeah, thanks for the nudge towards the diet. I've been really happy with it and can foresee doing it for a long while. Thanks. I'm glad you are still doing well and finding what works for you too! Neat how you are so in tine with your body now.
  3. Ugh... This is why celiacs suffer for so many years. They MISSED the damage in the biopsy so you don't have celiac?! Sigh. I agree that you most likely do have celiac disease. A negative biopsy does not support your positive tests. That's it. It doesn't mean that it cancels them out.
  4. Keep in mind that steroids may likely cause false negative celiac tests... that may be something to keep in mind.
  5. You've got it all back down into normal range, and low normal at that. Perfect. You've definitely been eating gluten-free.
  6. I would do the tests too, but you may need to up her gluten intake. I imagine for a young child it would be about a slice of bread per day, or equivalent, for a month or two.. If she continues to eat gluten, you'll need to retest her every couple of years or as soon as symptoms appear. Celiac can show up at any stage of life. And going gluten-free...
  7. Our doctor refused to run any other tests unless the tTG IGA came back positive, in which case they would do the EMA IgA. Pretty sad.
  8. I get the sore tongue too. I think it's just a pineapple thing.

  11. Be aware that food sensitivity reactions can happen within minutes to 3 days after consuming the offending food. Especially the types of symptoms that you describe. best wishes.
  12. Generally speaking, a positive is a positive when it comes to celiac disease. The tTG IgA is positive and it is about 95% specific to celiac disease. Those 5% of false positives are generally caused by thyroiditis, diabetes (T1), crohn's, colitis, chronic liver disease or a serious infection like Lyme. 95% of the time a positive tTG IgA means celiac...
  13. Update on me... It's all about me, ya know. I'm still doing a ketogenic diet and loving it. My hair and skin are better. My knee OA is way better and my hip OA is somewhat better. My blood glucose levels are generally down, although my FBG has been bouncing into the prediabetic range over the last week, but I think that might partially be caused by...
  14. I was wondering if you'd be sore today after yesterday's hours of guitar. I'm so glad you are still well. I agree about the prednisone, avoid the steroids when you can. I think mild steroids are part of the reason that I ended up with insulin resistance.... It did help my other health issues though.
  15. Mmmmm, grilled cheese.
  16. This is an email that GM sent Gluten-Dude a few months back: I just wanted to share an update with you on Gluten Free Cheerios, in the interest of continuing the dialogue with you. We know there have been some concerns in the celiac community, and one of the ways we want to address those concerns is through increased transparency. I know you’ve seen T...
  17. Yeah!
  18. Looks like it was just a flu. My boy is getting better and not a spot on him.
  19. Good. And never worry about lying. You can always just say you need to be very strictly gluten-free for health reasons. If a nosy person asks if it is celiac you can always say yes, or just tell them you would rather not discus your health issues. Get a glycerin based hand lotion like glysomed. It works well. I use a foot cream for my body since...
  20. Mine is pretty mild, and technically I don't have reactive hypoglycemia because I haven't had it confirmed by a doctor. LOL I've had a pretty big weight loss since going low carb (about 25lbs in 10 weeks) but I am eating at a caloric deficit and want to lose weight. One thing to keep in mind with a very low carb diet is that carbs enable you...
  21. I almost think being told that it is stress or all in your head should be a celiac symptom... It's a pretty common experience. Best wishes.
  22. Woohoo! I'm glad for you!
  23. The electricity could be a peripheral neuropathy. I've never suffered with that myself, but it is not an unusual celiac disease or ncgs symptom. Unfortunately, symptoms dealing with the nervous system are often the slowest to improve and can take at least 6 months to start improving. I can't remember, has your thyroid been checked? Slowed digestion...
  24. I agree with everybody else. He probably does have symptoms but doesn't realize that they are related, but he won't change unless he wants to. Perhaps go through this list of symptoms with him: Open Original Shared Link I bet there is something in there. Hairloss? Anemia, Osteoarthritis or osteoporesis, dementia, or fatigue? Vit D deficiency? Maybe...
