  1. Hmmm, sounds more like a bug, especially if you both got it at the same time. It is possible that you also have some kind of gluten issue as well though. Glad you were both enjoying getting out, hopefully you will both be feeling better soon.
  2. I'd agree it is probably worth getting nutrients checked first. Start taking a gluten-free prenatal vitamin suppliment well in advance of when you start trying. In the UK i really rate books by Zita West on fertility, not sure how widely available she is. I also wanted to say I had 2 miscarriages before my 1st child, several more before my second. So...
  3. I am so sorry you have been treated like this. The doctors behavior was disgusting, especially what he said to your son. I had a similar experience with my son recently when I asked for a celiac blood test for him. She asked which symptoms he had and when I mentioned that I understood behavioral issues were common she said in the most patronizing tone...
  4. Lamb steak, white rice, mushrooms, zucchini.
  5. Hello there I am in the UK too. Thank you for sharing your story. I, like you have found this site a revelation, as knowledge seems patchy here. My observation is that 'classic' cases are dealt with better than more complex ones. I strongly suspect that my mother in her 60s and grandmother in her 90s have the condition. I am working of persuading...
  6. Laura This is brilliant, what a wonderful change for you Thanks for sharing your story, this newbie is very happy to hear a good outcome. Wishing you the best for 2013
  7. After my gluten challenge (I only lasted 3 weeks but had very similar symptoms) it took about a month for the gut pain to go, and another couple for the other symptoms to go. I now get 1 or 2 migraines a month. I think what I thought were period problems were gluten too, as I now get those cramps if I get glutened. I also get more bladder urgency when...
  8. I am learning to just be as matter of fact as I can be, and let others read in what they want. I'd say something like we did discuss all sharing the same food, but it turned out too complicated. I know you wouldn't want x and y to get sick at Christmas so this time we brought our own. Would anyone like to try a gluten-free cookie? If you get a chance...
  9. I was at a kids birthday party in the afternoon and had olives and stilton. I fell asleep before dinner (yawning smiley)
  10. Or maybe the wasps are getting bigger and more adventurous
  11. Unpronouncable liquiors from overseas in bright colors in odd shaped bottles

  13. Pork and veg stir fry, rice. Greek yogurt with vanilla and honey
  14. Just seen the news. Thoughts and prayers to the families. Dreadful tragedy.
  15. Hi I will certainly be sending positive thoughts and hugs your way. Of course it is scary, but I'll have fingers crossed for you and the neuro to make the BEST plan to get you healthy again. Let us know how you are getting on Many many good wishes Mw x
  16. Wow thanks everyone. I have wondering about Hashimotos. I think once I get my genetic testing results I will have a chat with my doctor. How exciting, another condition to research. Tarnalberry that is really useful info. I am in the UK, towards the bottom so I will check it out. I think Santa will have his work cut out sourcing something for me
  17. Peter Sorry to hear about your loss. I am glad Bob's funeral went well, it makes such a difference when you know they would have been happy with it. Take it easy x
  18. Hmmmn. Ah, I see, just like it is their choice not to eat rat poison? People just say dumb stuff dont they?

  20. Great you got a good reaction from family and that her GI is clued in - well done you Can't help on the prednisone, sorry
  21. Thanks! I always have loads of lights on, maybe that is why Maybe Santa might consider one for me... Is best to have it on in the morning? I get dreadful fatigueabout 2 in the afternoon, and then have insomnia at night. I'll look into the D3, been thinking about that one. I'd be useless in Norway. I went to Finland at midsummer...
  22. I am guessing a magazine wont cut it with an 11 year old. I already miss the days when a single sticker was enough for bribery
  23. I haven't got to that stage as we are still waiting for blood test results. I am kind of going with staying in denial until we get bloods. There seems to be a lot of variation everywhere on what is needed for diagnosis. I think to get the prescription gluten-free food you may need to. Maybe someone else can chime in? I must confess I was sneaky...
  24. My 5 year old had his blood test last week on a paediatric day ward. The nurses were fantastic at dealing with a nervous child. I found it different having nurses well used to dealing with kids. I thought no way would we be able to do it as he melted down before his skin prick test (nut allergy) 15 minutes before. It took maybe 4 minutes. Sounds...
