  1. Hi Jerri, First of all - I am quite concerned about the fact that your doctors aren't concerned, themselves. I lost a lot of weight when I was first diagnosed - are you sure you aren't 'slipping' up somewhere? I got down to about 78lbs, and was so thin - when I look back at photos, it really was horrifying! Are you eating calorie dense foods? if you...
  2. you have to call them PER product, as they constantly change their suppliers. they will tell you not only if it's gluten-free, but also if the facility is.
  3. Close! Niagara
  4. They are not safe. What's your diet like? Eating a balanced diet is important. Can you do any strength training or yoga?
  5. I would think cross contamination from eating out. Feel better!
  6. I will suggest a probiotic (bio-k makes a dairy and gluten free one that I use and love). Definitely eat prunes - that is a great idea. Try eating higher fibre foods, too. What's your diet like? Are you making sure to eat a lot of fibre?
  7. Sometimes with celiac disease, we tend to over analyze and think every ache and pain comes from it. I would think that the combination of the meal you had might just have resulted in your pain, since you didn't mention if you were getting symptoms, or just felt brutal. Either way, feel better.
  8. I know Dove Energy Glow is safe (well, it was last year), which is a little similar to tanning spray. I'm sure someone else might know of another.
  9. Some brands are gluten-free. Bob's Red Mill is and is made in their gluten-free facility.
  10. I take Dairy-Free Bio-K. Fantastic. The dairy-free version is made with soy, but they say on their site that the non-soy is completely casein-free. They also make a pill version - I'm not sure what's in it though.
  11. I wouldn't risk it either - the convenience isn't worth spending a few minutes to do it yourself. At my grocer, they prepare things in the same area with gluten containing foods.
  12. I use either the flax method or Ener-G.
  13. Open Original Shared Link That's my recipe. I have often used egg replacer instead of the eggs and whites, and sucanat instead of the honey. The flours combos are very forgiving. Enjoy!
  14. I don't eat anything pre-made (if that is what you mean), and I am gluten/casein free, but I keep this list on hand. Open Original Shared Link
  15. I don't know much about a Crohn's diet, but here are some low fibre, healthy ideas. green and yellow beans, spinach, squashes eggplant and potatoes without the skin, beets and carrots, all cooked. ripe bananas and melons. white rice based noodles (both asian and pasta) or other rices (like basmati). wild rice, too. eggs, white toast all fish, shell...
  16. No it's not. Flax flour is flour - flax seed meal is milled /ground flax seeds.
  17. there are two tazo teas that are NOT safe.

I'm a vegetarian and I also do not consume dairy and eggs. As long as you are well informed and knowledgable about how to eat balanced and healthy, there should be no problem. Produce, nuts/seeds, quinoa and amaranth and tofu make my diet - because none of that is prepacked, really, I never have to worry.
  19. Pam is fine, it's from corn. There is a Pam for baking with wheat flour, but regular Pam is okay.
  20. technically their statement is true, but to guarantee absolutely NO cross contamination would make me skeptical. that's really your perogative, i guess, but i would stay away, personally, when there are so many other options that you KNOW are safe available.
  21. Calorie dense foods include nuts, seeds, nut butters, other good fats such as olive oil and so on, if you can have dairy, then a lot of dairy are a little higher in calories. Why don't you post your 'normal' eating, and I can help you tweak it? Also, if you have any other intolerances.
  22. Be careful - when I was diagnosed, I was not overweight at all (125lbs, 5'7''. I was a runner). I lost so much weight in 2 months, I truly almost died - I was in the hospital, and my organs were shutting down, at 78lbs. It was rapid. Are you still eating a balanced diet, replacing your 'old' foods?
  23. I wasn't trying to start an arguement, so instead of hijacking the post, can further discussion be involved via pm? (not with me, please, as my question was already answered). there is a post in the 'teen' section involving alcohol, and i'm quite certain that most teens on this forum are american. that's just as illegal. this was a general curiousity...
  24. Thanks for the thoughts. We were having a discussion and I just assumed that someone on here would know.
  25. I was having a discussion with someone and this came up. Would this be a concern? (Other than someone, say, rolling it and causing said contamination... I mean, from the source itself... The field/plants... Potential filler).
