  1. Hello! I am writing an article and would love a quote or two. If you use solar, wind, or water based energy as opposed to electric, I'd love to 'talk'... Please let me know. Thanks!
  2. Depends where you are. I know a place in Calgary is carrying it, I read. No LCBOs or Beer Stores are, if you're from Ontario. Luckily, I live 3 minutes from the border!
  3. Wow! What an old thread - I wrote this two years ago! Nice to 'meet' you, Andie. It's a wealth of info, here.
  4. Yeast intolerant and yeast overgrowth are two seperate things. Right now, I've a large candida overgrowth in my body. You might want to google 'candida' and read more about that - it is possible, but perhaps you are just healing if you do have damage to your villi. You should probably also see your doctor, GI, or naturopath.
  5. Perhaps you got 'glutened'. Canker sores were a huge symptom of mine pre-diagnosis. I had them constantly for my whole life - hardly without one. I've not had one since.
  6. After four months of different treatments, I went to my naturopath and it turned out I have candida. When I talked to the doctor the next week (I had seen her consistently), she said she was going to suggest the naturopath, anyway (which was awesome, in my opinion). Like Burdee, I had 'real' tests done. The so-called saliva test and so on are bogus.
  7. I use Pomona's Pectin, which is gluten-free, if you can't find your answer
  8. Mine reached above 800, then stayed there for a month. After that, they lowered to 400, then they did a liver biopsy. That being said, I don't think that 59 indicates disease, as mine didn't and they were much higher. Either way, see your doctor. But I really don't think it's a big deal.
  9. Everything by Dove is gluten-free, except for one with oats (I think it's a body wash or cream). It is a Unilever brand, and will label gluten. They label the derivatives of the ingredients in brackets. I am gluten and casein free, and I use all Dove, except my hand cream, which is Vaseline.
  10. I was diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy due to celiac disease from my neurologist. The longer you are gluten free, the better you will feel.
  11. Lisa, That was perhaps just your local Kelsey's. I never eat out, but my mom does and she is gluten and casein-free. She goes out to Kelsey's relatively often with friends and has never had an issue. Our Kelsey's does not have a 'gluten-free menu', but the staff has helped her. However, she doesn't eat the foods you mentioned, but I wanted...
  12. There are no pills without lactose - but some people on here take it with no affects. I personally don't / can't.
  13. If it's the same stuff that orthodonists use to secure the wires behind your teeth (post braces) then it's gluten-free.
  14. It could also be from anal fissures.
  15. I use all Dove's products. I think just one hand cream has oats, and they clearly label everything.
  16. I'm allergic to rice and buckwheat and always have been. I'm not sure about the bread, but I've never bought anything pre-made. Just stick to whole, fresh foods, and you can always bake your own goods. Use quinoa/millet and other grains instead of rice in your favourite recipes.
  17. I'm a vegan and slowly adopting a 90% or so vegan raw diet (I'm just having trouble with giving up tofu and coffee, and currently battling candida, too, so I am at a diet stand still). Wheat berries and wheat grass, barley, rye berries, all of those are often sprouted. Other than those, it's generally safe. I never, ever eat out though.
  18. The first six months after my diagnosis, I didn't know that the gluten-free symbol had to be on the package, either. I was eating the carob daily and got sicker and sicker - nearly death. The day I took it out, I gained back 10lbs in 1 week. I trust their products, never react, and always remember to look for the symbol EACH time I re-buy anything just incase...
  19. Hey Jessica, I made smoke salmon sushi, sesame summer rolls (i soaked them in a beet juice / water mixture and they all turned hot pink!), hummus (it was pink, I added some beets), with homemade flatbread and veggies, little ham skewers with kalamata olives and cherry tomatoes, fruit trays and tonnes of watermelon, an egg salad mix that was created pink...
  20. Thank you for everyone's ideas. The event was today and it was a success! Your creative input helped keep my inspiration alive. Thanks again.
  21. Coffee Mate is gluten free. Tylenol is, but I don't know what "Meijer Brand" is. I live in Canada, but I think Wild Oats has a gluten-free list on their website.
  22. They should be fine - pretty sure others have mentioned EggBeaters are safe. I use a similar, Canadian, product.
  23. I used to use all 'salon' products - Bed Head and Redken and the pricier ones... I find Dove just as awesome, and they label gluten - I've never seen any in their hair care, I think just one body wash.
  24. Seaweed flour (carrageen) is used as a thickener. Not sure about the chicken but that ingredient is safe. My thing is to always call - better be safe than sorry.
  25. Thanks for the replies. A few things have inspired me, so thank you! I think that is pretty much it, so thanks again.
