  2. We live in a small town and I have gone early to ask to view the ingredients. All appeared fine. It's not all that healthy, but what would a good movie be without popcorn. Every threater may be different. Always check first.

  5. After over three years on the diet, I consider myself in "remission". Reaction time can vary and sometimes, not at all. In my case, I believe it would take repetitive glutenings over an unknown period of time, for me to be symptomatic with digestive issues. I have reacted within a 24 hour period with neuro symptoms, that would make me a bit unpleasant...
  6. Maltodextrin in the US is derived from corn. If otherwise, it would be listed "maltodexrin (wheat)" It would not be a gluten worry.

  8. Open Original Shared Link I have always chuckled at the Dannon created term "Bifidus regularis". But I haven't tried it. Above is a Consumer Report on Activia.
  9. It should not be a gluten problem. (except for those highly sensitive to trace amounts of distilled grain based vinegar)
  10. Hi Charlie, Too late for this weekend, but I HIGHLY recommend the Triumph Dining Cards and you can find them at the Gluten Free Mall on this website. Remind the chef that you can also get sick from cross contamination. If a utensil, preparation or cooking surface for foods I can't eat, please clean it before using it for may food. Also, if water or...

  14. Eric, As the original poster, you might already know this but, politics do not fare well here. It usually generates quite a bit of emotion to be discusses on a site for Celiac Disease. We tend to avoid topic that might be controversial. Regarding the history of Celiac Disease, this link might be of interest to you. No liberals were mentioned in...
  15. According to what I understand, we absorb 70% of our fluids in our small intestines. Many times excess thirst is a symptom of undiagnosed Celiac or early on the diet. Perhaps that contributed, in part, to your constipation and once healed, it will be "relieved".
  16. Welcome to the Club! If we can help you in any way, please feel free to ask.
  17. Open Original Shared Link I don't know if you're in northern or southern Virginia, but these good people can help you, or direct you to someone who can. Good luck.
  18. Hi Dylan, Can you go back to your doctor and get your meds "tweeked" a little bit. Maybe your meds are "off" a little bit and adjusting them a little could make you feel a lot better and less anxious and obsessive. You remind me so very much of a dear friend. Often times, his meds needed adjustments and after that he was able to do a lot more every...

ARCHIVED Group Letter to Dr. Fine

We share a common denominator as we have come to this place, but we have arrived with varied different attitudes about the health care we have experiences. Many have had wonderful experiences and others, quite the opposite. Some times we need to remember this when we post on a forum directed to everyone. I need to remind myself quite often.
  20. Hi Jonine, Assuming your sons have a gluten issues, it takes time and 100% accuracy in removing gluten from their diet. Non food product can hide gluten as well. Scratched pots and pans, used toasters, wooden cutting boards and spoons, lotions, lipbalms, meds and vitamins and even some school supplies can all be sources of gluten. And dairy can mimic...
  21. Most people who visit this forum have been ill with various digestive issues for many years. To me it's common sense to be tested with a colonoscopy and endoscopy exam to rule out more serious concerns, if not for a baseline test for the future. To have an endoscopy/biopsy post positive serologic testing is a personal choice, and in my opinion, a wise...

  25. From what I conclude from this study is that patients with mild enteropathy (intestinal disruption) but positive endomysial antibodies (from serologic testing) react well to the gluten free diet. No argument from me. It has always been stated here that positive blood work IS a diagnosis for Celiac Disease, regardless of a positive biopsy.
