    I think both could have been an issue. Most likely the Rot. Chicken from Walmart. I KNOW that the ones at Sams have wheat in them - Sam Walmart.. KC Masterpiece could have hit you as well.     Yes, you sound just like me. I get very shaky to the point that I can barely type. Hair loss is very common and muscle atrophy are both symptoms of malnutrition. Make sure that you take a good multi-vitamin. I have found the large does of B-12 seem to help with the shakes. Your body will take what it needs and dumps the rest. If you are not absorbing...

    Modified Corn Starch is gluten free. In the US Modified Food Starch is generally derived from corn. If not from corn it will be listed as "Modified Food Starch - Wheat". Enjoy the banana and carrot cake

    Stefi: I don't really live in DC, but I used to. I am not familiar with the restaurant that you mentioned and it is not in the Gluten Free Dining Guide. I would recommend that you get some dining cards that are in several languages. It has always been a big help to me. I am sorry that I am not much help. Lisa

    Cheers to you Karen..emotionally, but well said. Small advances are advances, but this was a BIG One. Relish in the glory. We alone can not bring celiac to this national level or recognition. We need to be grateful, not dissect it.

    Kraft Mayo will always list gluten. Hellman's and Dukes are also gluten free. Hellman's is my choice of flavor. PS..now silly questions here!

    I think that when recepies call for dredging it is because you may need some "crust" in order to make a gravey or sauce. I have found that gluten-free flour does not thicken as regular flour will. When I need to, I use corn starch to thicked. When flour is needed, I use Bob's Red Mill flour mix.
