  1. Next time you are in just ask to read the bottle of syrup. I think the label of ingredients is on there. I usually get a chai so I am not as informed about the syrups. Hez
  2. My understanding is that couscous has gluten which makes it a no go. If you go to the celiac forbidden list on this site you will see couscous listed. Below is a link to the page. Hez https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodi...-15107217727.b3
  3. I was told growing up not to eat potatoes that are green. However, I have no idea why. I am curious. Hez
  4. I have also noticed this change in the packaging. The website states that some things are made in the same factory as wheat. It was not clear why the removal of gluten-free on the package. I sent Mission an e-mail asking why they have done this. If they reply I will post their answer. Hez
  5. It used to be that I would know I had been glutened within an hour. Which made figuring out what glutened me very easy. Now it is different. I think my lag time can be a couple of days. I find it very frustrating. It is almost imposible for me to figure out if it was something I ate or if it was cc. I wish I could be of more help. I am frustrated too...
  6. Quinoa is a great substitute for couscous (which is a no no). Hez
  7. I highly recomend you order these donuts before the heat of summer is upon us! Otherwise the chocolate will melt off the donut. Hez
  8. This is also why most main stream cereal is off limits to us. Almost, no all, of my favorite cold cereals have malt in them Hez
  9. Welcome to the board. There are alot of great people on here that offer wonderful support. First, take a deep breath and realize everyone of us at one point, is where you are. Feeling overwhelmed and alone. The good news is that you are not alone. It takes a long time to figure out the gluten-free diet. It might be best to keep to simple naturally...

    ARCHIVED :(

I completly understand how you feel. Most of us feel the same way from time to time. Life would be so much better if there was no gluten! Hez
  11. Thanks for the info. Next time I go out (which is hardly ever!) I will call the Red Robin near us. Hez
  12. Does Red Robin have a gluten-free menu? I went to the website and could not find one. Thanks, Hez
  13. I chew trident. It took forever but here is what the webstie says Is Trident
  14. What a relief it must be for both of you to have this surgery behind you. Sending good thoughts for a speedy recovery. Hez
  15. I had thyroid papillary cancer before my celiac. My mothers doc is convinced they are related. For me thyroid cancer was not a huge deal. It has an extrememly high cure rate and little side effects to treatment. I had surgery to remove the thyroid and lymph nodes. The cancer had spread to the lymph nodes but again it is not a huge deal. For some...
  16. Since I am the cook in the household our dinners are gluten-free. I am very sensitive and need to be careful. So, I do not mess with gluten. You will need to find what works best for you. Make sure you butter tub, mayo and other condiments are not contaminated by gluten. I have my own and just mark it with a sharpie! Welcome to the board! Hez
  17. Everytime I call about yogurt I get the same answer. Only the natural, no flavor is guarenteed to be gluten freel I have heard the above to be true about Dannon but not yoplait. If you do a search on this site there are alot of threads saying what I have said. Yoplait is made by Kraft, Kraft is a company that discloses gluten on the label. You do not...
  18. Most yoplait yogurt is gluten-free (I think there is one with a granola), they are a Kraft company and will clearly state gluten. I use a natural Hormel deli meat that is prepackaged that says gluten-free on the label. However, I think the Healthy Choice lunch meats are safe but I am not positive. Are you reading the labels everytime you buy something...
  19. There is also a company in Wyoming called Gluten Free Oats. They also test their product. I have used their oats in the past and was happy with the company (family member has celiac). Hez
  20. I like Kinnicnik and some of the Glutino breads. How can Whole Foods screw up so badly? Hez
  21. Welcome! I got rid of some of my non stick cookware that had deep scrathes but kept my stainless pots and pans. Just gave everything in my kitchen a good scrub. I did go through my make up shampoo to make sure they were safe. Hez
  22. I would also be concerned about the chips. Most are fried in fryers where gluten is also fried. You really need to ask. There is never a "safe" option at a resturant. It is always necessary to ask questions. Hez
  23. You should have no problems visiting Disneyland. Call Disneyland and ask to speak to Chef Chris. First ask for the food/resturant department and eventually you will find Chef Chris, the nicest guy in the world. He will walk you through what and where you can eat. Have a great time! Hez
  24. I just made today pineapple wrapped in bacon. Very quick and easy. Hez
  25. I have not seen these yet. I will be on the look out! I would love to try them. Hez
