  1. I'm not reacting to potates anymore either. It's great. I miss those Danish butter cookies too. A tin gets delivered every year in December to my work. But, I miss my dad's baking the most and it makes me sad especially at this time of year.
  2. I didn't realize they had to have the gluten-free label. Is this only for the US? Maybe the Imagine organic broths were making me sick.
  3. There is dairy-free chocolate, it is called cocoa and you can add sugar and almond or rice milk to homemade chocolate. The Silk brand of soymilk is the only one that I like in my coffee. Silk also makes a chocolate soymilk which is tasty. You can also get 85% cocoa dark chocolate bars which don't have any dairy in them. I thought going cf was hard...
  4. Does anyone know if Sunlight is gluten-free?
  5. Mrs. May's wabsite says their products are indeed gluten free.
  6. The US and Canadian Quaker gluten-free products are not necessarily the same.
  7. Thanks for your responses. I ate aged hard cheese two days in a row after being cf for about a month because I wanted to see if I actually was casein intolerant. The first day was no problem except for some abdominal disconfort and gas. The second day I had worse abdominal discomfort and many bm's. I am still not feeling well today, day three. So I was...
  8. I also have thinning hair. I think it has stopped thinning since I stopped eating gluten. The funny thing is, I was really going gray right before I went off gluten. The gray hairs seem to have stopped coming even though I keep looking for them.
  9. For those of you with casein intolerance, what kinds of reactions do you get and how long do they last if you consume casein?
  10. Que Pasa brand tortilla chips and corn tortillas are gluten free according to their website.
  11. Have you tried eliminating dairy or soy. I was like you I felt great for awhile and then not so good and back on the Immodium again. But I have been better since eliminating dairy. I tried some cheese again last night for the first time in about a month and I was back on the toilet for this morning.
  12. Maybe you are allergic to your fiance? Just kidding.LOL
  13. You are probably not going to want to work Tuesday morning. I was on the toilet for many hours before my colonoscopy. The worst part is the preparation, but you'll get through it. The actual tests are fine because you won't remember them.
  14. I only was using Always as a backup liner to tampons. I really think they were the best. But I've bought three different brands to try: Stayfree, Kotex and the other brand has slipped my mind. I don't think any are as good as Always, but not getting itching or a rash is well worth it.
  15. There was a post on another forum that I visit regarding Always products. Apparently at some point they changed there plastic layer and it has given many women rashes and irritation, including myself. If you use Always switch to a different brand.
  16. Okay, for all of the bakers out there. I found a vegan stollen recipe and it calls for 3 cups flour. Any suggestions on how much and what kinds of gluten-free flours I could use to substitute. Also, how much xantham gum should I use?
  17. I noticed both those things. I just made a modified lasagna tonight with Tinkyada noodles and ground turkey. Yummy.
  18. These may be Canadian brands, but Primo and Unico canned black beans are both gluten-free.
  19. Thanks for the brands. I was hoping they weren't Bob's because I have been having problems with that brand.
  20. What brand of cream of rice do you use?
  21. I have never had a problem with either Glutino or Glutano products. I eat the Glutino breakfast bars quite often.
  22. I have two bottles of balsamic vinegar at home. Bertolli brand has no ingredients, but contains sulphites so I assume it is 100% balsamic vinegar. The Sammarelli brand lists the following ingredients: wine vinegar, concentrated grape must, colouring agent E 150 d, antioxidant E 224. I just wanted to add my two cents.
  23. Thanks for the recipe. Chebe is not available in Canada.
  24. I have no idea but how about guinoa flakes. Mmm melted cheese.
  25. Claire, I really like your explanation of celiac disease and gs.
