  1. page 12 of this report says a DGP-IgG blood test is 99 to 100 percent accurate. Open Original Shared Link
  2. Well that doctor never heard of DGP-IgG How messed up things are that the patients have to know more than the doctor. She should know that your low IgA invalidates your blood test results. I went through a similar situation. I went gluten free in October 2010. I felt better and I went to see my doctor. She didn't want me to be tested. She said...
  3. Were you eating gluten prior to the endoscopy? Maybe the damage is in a lower part of the intestine. One more shot would be a Celiac blood test or just the DGP-IgG. After that keep a food diary - pain diary to figure out the links. I got some foods figured out. It doesn't hurt to go gluten free and to eat the right foods for your body...
  4. Off topic: to Meatballman, Nope - I wish LOL.
  5. They might be lurking
  6. I agree with what Meatballman wrote about big pharm and doctors. I suspect when this drug or better ones comes out, the doctors will stop being in denial about Celiac and will get a good educational push from big Pharm to diagnose more people for Celiac. That's what bugs me the most. They don't listen to undiagnosed Celiac patients now but will listen...
  7. You found a good student. Keep on teaching her and she'll be able to help others who have Celiac symptoms.
  8. Just thank her for having been receptive to your Celiac and wheat concerns. Be enthusiastic: Oh thank you for understanding my problem, do you think you can test me for this? If I have to see a specialist I'd like to have the tests to confirm this is my problem. (show her the celiac panel you want to do.)
  9. I have a lot of medical issue also. I think it's best to go there goal oriented. Your goal is to get tested for Celiac so just tell her a few of the classic symptoms she can understand. Don't expect the doctor to understand so much, just the basics. This line you wrote is convincing: "Clear response to a 12-day strict gluten-free trial - exhaustion...
  10. Good on Not me! ha ha. The gastro doctor I saw at the start of may said I don't have Celiac, I have IBS without ever scoping me. I don't know what IBS means anymore. I BS U ha ha. GFreeMO, I rarely eat process foods because it's so hard to know what ingredient in that box of junk causes a problem. I eat mostly produce and meat. Exceptions would...
  11. If you can get a copy of the reports then that would be helpful when seeking a second opinion. My total IgA serum was also low normal which makes me doubt my negative IgA blood tests. Did you get the DGP-IgG Celiac blood test? If you are still eating gluten, I would say to ask your PCP for that blood test. Good luck and keep us posted.
  12. Here is the story of a little girl with Osteoporosis that was posted on this forum. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/101118-questions-re-blood-tests/ When it comes to Celiac, don't take anything for granted.
  13. It's good that your son's doctor is being so thorough. Do keep us posted on the test results.
  14. I hope they did more than just the tTG. Do let us know the blood test results. Good luck.
  15. Hello Hala, Do doctors give copies of the test results in the UK? I once read in my Celiac book and online that there is an association with pancreatic damage and Celiac. ......................................................................................................... "There has been some suggestion wheat plays a role in juvenile diabetes...
  16. I just wanted to let you know that sometimes the doctors will test a child for Celiac with the tTG - IgA test and that this test is prone to false negatives in young children and babies. DGP-IgG is the better test for young children.
  17. Were you gluten free prior to the blood test? That will give you a false negative result. The other tests you asked about are: DGP-IgA and DGP-IgG Later after you've done the Celiac blood test panel, you could try a digestive enzyme pill.
  18. Welcome bayba792 Did the doctors do these blood tests for Celiac? Total Iga tTG-IgA DGP-IgA DGP-IgG Good luck and keep us posted.
  19. You might want to ask your doctor if these blood tests are appropriate for your symptoms: CBC Protein Electrophoresis Immunofixation Electrophoresis Immunoelectrophoresis Do see a doctor. Good luck and keep us posted.
  20. The other Celiac test to do (again?) are DGP-IgG and DGP-IgA. I started asking for copies of my reports which helped me find another problem a specialist wasn't telling me because that organ wasn't his specialty. It's good to ask for copies of reports and tests and put them in a binder.
  21. Hi Janpell, Are you a Canadian too? Thanks for that lead about genetic markers vs a genetic testing. That makes sense. Another thing to study - it never ends LOL. Good for you for controling your ESR and CRP with diet. Your comment about the soy turned a few gears in my head. I remember taking Whey (milk) protein and getting quite a...
  22. Kareng there's no DGP tests listed - sigh... why can't they accept the DGP? (did I miss it in the list?) carisima, I saw a gastro enterologist about 2 weeks ago after waiting months to see him and he told me: you don't fit the Celiac profile, you just have IBS, If I scope I won't find anything etc. And this was a young doctor! OK... back...
  23. I carry Sesame Snaps 180 calories so that can keep me going and it's in a small package that is handy to carry. I also cut a banana in half and put it in a sandwich box when I go out.
  24. I agree with tarnalberry, it could be a high blood sugar reaction. Can you mix vegetables in your rice?, like steamed broccoli and carrots - yum.
  25. Hello lapaz, Yes those symptoms are consistent with Celiac. And I think it's best to be tested to be sure that is your problem. I'm doing a gluten challenge and I too have waves of fatigue and none when I was gluten free. Here is the Celiac panel the lab I go to uses: Total Iga tTG-IgA DGP-IgA DGP-IgG You have been eating wheat bread...
