  1. This diet has completely changed my life ... I just hope this lasts ... No more mobility issues as of Sept 2006... I can WALK normally all of the time ... No more myoclonus No more insomnia (unless I have caffeine ) No more GERD, "D", "C", bloating, gas, etc Color has returned in my lips permanently (I first thought this was a food...
  2. One of my chihuahua's had ezcema until I put him on Nutro Lamb and Rice. It was gone in about 2 weeks.
  3. The walking is going great, wonderful, fantastic ... I am walking normal all of the time no matter how tired I am or how far I walk. I absolutely love being able to walk !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was speed walking in and around people the other day and had to stop myself. For some reason, the people I was mowing over DID NOT understand .... ...
  4. Thanks for the info on rice. I only knew about white, brown and wild.
  5. Marshmellows have corn starch ( I looked - I knew it was corn something ) and tea has caffeine. Both are problems for me and a lot of other people too. Otherwise, kraft marshmellows are gluten free ... not sure which teas are gluten-free....
  6. And for some reason he looks happy
  7. Thanks, Yum ! Those sound good. I actually had my own sweet potatoes made with brown sugar and cinamon and was happy with them until I spooned out some of my daughters for her. Then it was just too much for me. BTW, what are short grain rices ? I love ginger. Have your tried crystalized ginger on your baked potatoes with EVOO and raw cashews...
  8. Rice pie crust, yummm ! I didn't get any pie this year. I'm not nearly as sore today as I was yesterday, but the rash is worse. So, at this point, it still was not worth it. On the upside, we at least have some ideas as to what foods to avoid
  9. My muscles are sore and I have a rash. Not DH, just about 40 bumps all over my abdomen, back and scalp. Mostly on my abdomen. I haven't eaten these kinds of foods in any quantity in over 6 months. But by the time I had Thanksgiving dinner ready, it was full of known sensitivities/allergies and it was all just to much to resist. In my stuffing...
  10. I've found that I can digest tea if I water it down to about 90% water and 10% tea. But, the caffeine will keep me awake for hours. It's fun while I am awake, but not at 2 am. I get severe pains in several areas, but usually only one area at a time. I get it on the left side like you, but also on the right near my appendix and in my chest sometimes...
  11. I'm still on the elimination diet too ... Sounds like you can handle small amounts of soy. But the negative reaction you had to the tofu and soy milk is not considered acceptable. Food should not make you uncomfortable. I can eat a small amount of soy too in chocolate, but if I drink soy milk, I get tons of phlegm in my throat immediately...
  12. I just went through this too and it was upsetting to give up my safe home made foods. I'm not familiar with the places you mentioned, so I can't help you there. BUT, I was forced to eat out last month for about a month (bathrooms were being remodelled so I left town) and I found I was ok as long as I checked all of the ingredients and even had some...

    ARCHIVED "the Trigger"

I actually think I have had this most of my life. I was a skinny, spacey kid with undiagnosed ADHD (I'm blonde, so it was expected ) My ADHD has gone away since going on this diet, but, I am still a little spacey. If not since childhood, my other guess is that it all started back in January 1990 when I caught a bad virus / flu (mono? ) on...
  14. My daughter and I actually had ours yesterday so she could be with her dad today, But I am still eating like a pig ... Mine was completely gluten free, since I was the only adult. I made gluten-free dressing from Food for Life millet bread and my daughter said it was the best stuffing she ever had. Baked hormone free chicken, asparagus, cranberry...
  15. Ursula, Bummer !! I don't think I can handle eliminating any more foods at this point. But, who knows what I will be motivated to do after the holidays. Marcia
  16. I am thankful for all of you and the support you have given me over the last year. Group hug Marcia
  17. I agree with the others and I just wanted to add that you could tell your professor how important your education is to you and you need to know what you have to do to keep your grades up. I would explain celiac, just so he knows you are not trying to bs him. Marcia
  18. Ursula, Are you hypoglycemic too ? If this keeps up, I would like to learn more about adrenal fatigue. Marcia BTW, my symptom that my blood sugar is low is shakiness more than dizziness.
  19. My hypoglycemia is out of control too. I've switched from eating raw nuts and something sweet (Bob's candy canes ) when I would feel it get too low to pb and crackers and it is helping for now. I have been through so many changes while healing on this diet, that I am hoping this is just one more. And this too shall pass. I think part of mine...
  20. AutumnE, Sorry, but I can't remember if it is good for all allergies, but I found this website that gives a lot of info about honey. Open Original Shared Link I need to research this one again myself. I have sooo many allergies.. I was told that I could eat mellons, but I just had to wash them thoroughly with soap and water first before cutting...
  21. When my neice made fun of me at a Japanese restaurant for being so careful about my food, I reminded her that "celiac is genetic". I loved watching her mouth drop open. I wonder if she has been tested yet ... Hopefully, your family will come around once they get used to all of this. Marcia
  22. AutumnE, About the honey.... I read that if you eat honey that is produced in your area that it can help with your allergies. I can't remember exactly how it works other than the bees carrying pollen, blah blah blah and you are subjected to tiny amounts of allergens. I would certainly start slow though. Your local health food stores probably...

    ARCHIVED Omega 3

Sorry, I just found this. I don't remember the name. But, I got them from my local health food store and they were expensive. I remember the term they used was tocopheral. Marcia
  24. I had myoclonus (jerking) and problems walking (ataxia), but they went away after going gluten-free. The myoclous went away after 10 months and the problems walking went away after 1 year. Actually, the myoclonus may have gone away earlier, I just didn't know it was possible and kept on taking my meds (Klonopin). I didn't realize I was getting better...
  25. I had a great time at the mtg .... Everyone was very nice and knowledgeable. All of us are in the same boat dealing with the same things we deal with on this board. It was great to meet and talk with other celiacs. BUT, the food was absolutely to die for. There were two white breads there that taste better and were more moist than regular bread...
