ARCHIVED Bronco's Trip To Seattle
VegasCeliacBuckeye posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Ok, So my first trip to Seattle was 2 weeks ago. Let me start by saying that Seattle is soooo green and beautiful and has lots of clean air and is soooo green and WOW! I was sort of suprised at the amount of traffic up there, but as long as you get to where you are going and stay there for a few hours at each location, it is fine. I made the trek... -
ARCHIVED Bleu Cheese
VegasCeliacBuckeye replied to Sweetfudge's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Soory it took me so long to chime in, but between the computer troubles and my crazy week at work, I have been swamped. Ok, here is the "skinny" on the issue. When Bleu cheese was origianlly made (and made in some expensive cheeseries - Stilton, Maytag, etc), the culture that produced the bacteria to make bleu cheese was started on bread. The mold that... -
ARCHIVED Carl Budding?
VegasCeliacBuckeye replied to chgomom's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I don't care for the ones in the 50 cent packages (small servings), but I do like the Car Buddig Butcher's Cut Deli Meats in the releasable bads -- they usually sell for around $4 and come in pound or so packages... Bronco p.s. All Carl Buddigt Deli Meats are gluten-free (unless they say otherwise) -

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Beer At Outback!
VegasCeliacBuckeye replied to Guhlia's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants

ARCHIVED Going To Seattle
VegasCeliacBuckeye replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Thanks for the advice guys... Apparently, the people who used to own Kaili's Kitchen now own Da Vinci's and it is 100% gluten free. I would love to go to Vancouver very soon. My mother was recently there and fell in love with the city. Tiff, my gluten-free and I are not the most expereinced hikers/climbers, so I probably need something easy... -
Well, The gluten-free and I have officially planned the trip. I am looking forward to seeing the Space Needle, Peugot Sound, Pikes Fish Market and hiking in Snoqualmmie Falls. I have heard that a lady has reopened a new gluten-free restaurant in Seattle called DaVinci's, so I will likley go there for a couple of meals. Any other recommendations?...

Open Original Shared Link Too bad the author didn't include rye and barley when defining that gluten is. Actually, it seems like she thinks gluten is interchangeable with wheat. Sometimes they don't do the research.. Still nice to be in the press...I suppose -

ARCHIVED Going To Have Thai Food Tonight
VegasCeliacBuckeye replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Well, I went...it was one of the best meals I have ever had!!! Thai food is strange in that it is very spicy, but very good. Almost everyone at my table was sweating, but we could not stop eating. Truly a bizarre (but awesome) eating experience. We had Pad Thai, Pepper Grilled Shrimp, Sauteed Garlic Squid, some type of coconut curry with rice... -

ARCHIVED Going To Have Thai Food Tonight
VegasCeliacBuckeye posted a topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Ok, So I am going to place in Vegas that is supposedly the "Best Thai Restaurant in North America" - Gourmet Magazine...(Boss is taking me out) Anyway, I need some help. I know I have been able to give out advice on just about every kind of restaurant there is. However, I have NEVER eaten Thai before. My limited research tells me that much of... -
For what its worth, I would advise against ordering chicken at these places. 1. Is the grill clean? 2. Marinades? 3. Clean tongsd/gloves? 4. Where do they keep the chicken? CC? 5. If they keep the chicken in those little "6-pans" where they just pick up a lid and place the chicken on bread, then the chance for CC is HUGE -- things...

Luckily for you, In Vegas, the casinos have people that will carry you to each slot machine and bar...quality service! Its so much easier to sit down at a slot machine, sip on your special sippy cup and point to your mouth every time a cocktail waitress comes over...5 minutes later, a drink arrives...No reason to think or talk. Just play and drink..... -
