  1. Hey guys, okay so...my family has not been supportive about the gluten free thing at all really...almost a year later and they still don't even know what celiac disease really is. They also refused to get tested themselves (citing that they'd "rather die" than give up gluten - nice...) so since I live with my parents still, it's a very toxic environment both...
  2. I got a photo of it! (No, I won't post it - lol. Though I guess anyone that's curious/might be able to help me figure it out can PM me to see it.) but I feel better knowing that I actually got it on camera. What a relief.
  3. WHOA! KCG91 - you might have hit the nail on the head! I googled 'fat malabsorption' and came up with the name "steatorrhea"..and then did a google image search. Not going to post an image here (Sorry Irishheart - LOL) but the very first image that comes up closely resembles what I was seeing in the toilet! That is the first photo I saw that even remotely...
  4. I'd love to get a photo of it! URRGH! It's very difficult to explain, and I looked up photos to try to see if I found anything that looked similar, but nothing matched what I saw. And now that I'm trying to take a photo of it, it's stopped. Of course! Could I still have malabsorption if I am eating other foods that I have an intolerance to, besides...
  5. Thanks guys! I agree about the photo, but I've been bringing my phone into the bathroom and I haven't seen it! It's like it's camera shy. Arruuggh. I plan on mentioning it to him regardless, even if it doesn't happen again.
  6. Bwahaha. Well, it wasn't crawling but it was swimming like a fish. I didn't think that was worth mentioning though? Lol. It's so confusing, I wish I could explain it better. Like...it doesn't look like the actual consistency of mucus....it looks more like balled up (white) seaweed. So strange. I've read that yeast is usually white, so it could be...
  7. I've been doing a few elimination diets to try to pinpoint food issues. I took a test and I will get the results back on 5/30, but I wanted to be proactive and test foods on my own before hand. (Note: I am aware that the results are apparently inaccurate, that is partially why I decided to start elimination diets on my own) I seem to have an issue with...
  8. HAHA! I don't want to see it either :'( I don't think I'd be comfortable posting it online even if people did ask, haha. Blech..it's gross, but taking a photo for him might be a good idea though. I'm hoping it's just the candida passing through but I have no idea
  9. (I'm sorry this is so gross, guys! I just am desperate for answers.I'm trying to be descriptive without being 'too detailed' if you know what I mean.) I've tried googling this already, but I can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for. This is very confusing and a bit unsettling. Note, I do have an appointment to see my doctor at the end of the month...
  10. That looks great! What a weird coincidence...I was talking to my boyfriend about going paleo just today, and I asked him if he'd eat the stuff I'd cook, and he brought up how there probably wouldn't be paleo pizza (he loves his pizza) This sounds fairly easy and the pizza looks really good, I'll be trying this at some point!
  11. I can't have vinegar, not due to gluten but I've realized I have a problem with yeast. (It aggravates my rosacea, and in some cases makes me incredibly nauseated) Also, because I am considering the fact that I might have a corn intolerance, I've read that Vlasic pickles contain high fructose corn syrup. Maybe you have a yeast or corn issue?
  12. **Wow, I just realized in my above post I said coconut oil, I meant coconut milk of course! Haha. That really does sound good. I'm going to have to try it at some point. :)
  13. Oh...thanks Karen! Lol. I was typing my response for awhile and didn't post it until now - I didn't see yours first. That is an idea. I would love to find more natural remedies, but sometimes medicine is necessary.
  14. Thank you! I'm looking into it. I'm just super confused right now. For example, there is 'sucralose' in the ingredients...I have no idea if I will react to that or not. I posted a question about Gas-X causing me to bloat, (severely, it was terrible) and that turned into a conversation about all of those sugars...xylitol affects me so badly I stopped chewing...
  15. Thanks to the help of another poster, I realized I am having issues with artificial/natural sweeteners (xylitol, sorbitol, etc) I currently take Zicam, but I realized it has mannitol in it. Can anyone recommend a sweetener free/gluten free cold medication and pain relief? I don't yet know if I have a corn intolerance, but I am considering the possibility...
  16. I have a nagging feeling that corn is an issue for me as well. i didn't want to believe it, I still don't - but all of those sugars are derived from corn, so it's a possibility. I want to cut back on corn anyway because it apparently feeds candida, but cutting back on it is one thing - having an actual intolerance/issue with it is another. I've read...
  17. Okay, I now have another question involving the sweeteners (xylitol, sorbitol, malitol) What do you take for cold relief? I've been taking Zicam for a few years because it's quick and effective...it did always make me kind of feel a bit sick in the stomach (but I always attributed that to the fact that I was already feeling sick) I never noticed extreme bloating...
  18. You did? Every time I try to search on this forum it never shows me results, lol. I'm glad it wasn't just me! Did you figure out the reason it was causing you to bloat? It does seem to be gluten free, based on the ingredients and it is on a bunch of gluten free medication lists. Do you think it was the sorbitol for you? What do you take for bloating...
  19. Excellent. Thank you so much! I'm so glad I asked about this. It would make sense, given my history with the xylitol issues. I'll keep an eye out for all artificial sweeteners now too, phew! Will the list ever end?
  20. Also, any ideas of sorbitol/sweetener free tooth paste? Do I need to be concerned about the amount in tooth paste at all? I just googled the one I use from Tom's of Maine...it has both sorbitol and xylitol in it. Whoops
  21. Wow! You might actually be on to something there! Back in my freshman year of college, (so about 8 years ago now, way before diagnosis) I chewed a lot of gum...a lot of it must have been sugar free because it all contained 'xylitol'. I was having major cramping/bloating issues with how much gum I was chewing...sometimes I'd run to the bathroom and have to...
  22. Has anyone had any experience with this? This was awhile ago, but I wanted to share this experience to see if anyone had any insight. Since before being diagnosed, I have had a horribly distended stomach/tons of bloating issues. I am a size 12 in pants, but my stomach (sometimes) looks like I'm 9 months pregnant and at least a size 18+. I gained weight...
  23. Okay, great! Thanks. I read some of the reviews - most of them were really good. I need to take enzymes so I don't see any harm in giving them a shot!
  24. Hi All! So I've taken digestive enzymes before, but one of my doctors recommended that I try a specific brand called Vitalzymes. I've included a link to the ingredients/product information for you: Open Original Shared Link Does anyone have any experience with this brand or product? He wants me to take 3 pills per meal. It is supposed to help...
  25. Hi all! The non dairy ice cream "So Delicious" (made with coconut milk - though they have a soy variety as well) IS very good! I got off the SCD diet when frustrated with it - but I have gone lactose free and mostly dairy free, apart from my almond cheese (no lactose, but has casein) I noticed that yeast seems to trigger GI symptoms..(bloating, "the big...
