  1. Yeah....please tell us Weezie is alright.
  2. I have Celiac and I had multiple large fibroids. I honestly don't know if there's a link--fibroids are very common.
  3. Just throwing this out there--do you use artificial sweeteners in the morning? I ask because I developed headaches (not typical for me) and through process of elimination I discovered it was Splenda that was causing them. It could be another sensitivity showing up, sometimes that can happen when you get the gluten out of the picture. The timing of...
  4. Hi and welcome Have you checked all of her topical products, supplements, and meds? If she's in school, could she be getting some gluten there? It's so frustrating....I also get elevated liver enzymes when glutened and sometimes you have to go back through everything she's consuming/using with a fine tooth comb. Companies sometimes change ingredients...
  5. Same thing happened to me--the first weeks gluten-free, I felt like I couldn't get enough sleep. I would get tired in the afternoons also and be ready for bed every night by 7-8PM. It did pass, and as I was able to get in a little exercise, it really improved. At first, though, I would just let your body do what it needs to do. There's a lot going...
  6. As annoying as it would be, I would have to go wif #1. I would be afraid to be blind, even fer 3 days.
  7. I would feel comfortable about using it. Frigo Ricotta is also gluten-free.
  8. Glad it's done and over with --and most importantly that every thing is normal.
  9. Yeah baby!!! Wow Nik....6 weeks?
  10. Glad she's on the case! Half the battle is having a doc that will try and figure it out and if not, steer you to someone who will.
  11. Khar-in wrapping things up Keep us posted, Nik The Russian phar-tay sounded like a rip-snorter! Glad you had a good time and a lot o' vodka So-o-o-o happy to hear that the boiler is workin again. I do Good Monday mornin sills.....having a hard time getting going. I wonder if Jan-it is taking Skeet to the doctor this...
  12. I use light olive oil in baking. It works well with no strong taste of it's own. As was suggested, Ener-g makes a powered egg replacer--that works differently depending on what you're using it in. For frosting, you could try Spectrum Organic Shortening. It is made from palm oil, and works just like Crisco.
  13. The peach cobbler recipe sounds great--I may have to try that. I like to make a spice cake out of the Yellow Cake Mix--I add a teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon each of nutmeg, ginger, and ground cloves to the dry mix and then make according to the directions. It's good topped with either cream cheese or butter cream (my favorite) frosting.
  14. I've been reading all of your experiences with interest. Before being diagnosed for probably 2 years I would wake up with severe hip pain--my right hip would hurt so bad that it was difficult to turn over in bed. I would get up, walk around--slowly at first, and take a warm shower. The pain would subside, and start all over again the next morning. I...
  15. Ooh!! That sounds like phun! Enjoy
  16. Leighsuagh!! Missed you Hope yer sillie shows up soon
  17. Mine did--I had swelling in my ankles, fingers, and face especially. When I first went gluten-free, it seemed that my whole body "relaxed". Swelling went down and all I wanted to do was sleep.
  18. That's right--come to think of it, we haven't heard from her today.
  19. Got in a few minutes ago and threw the load of towels I washed this morning in the dryer. Psyllie laundry
  20. Yer all alone Jan-it! But pseriously, it looks like you may just have dodged a big one with Skeeter. Could have been an allergic reaction starting up that her system was just trying to fight off. I don't have any experience with Reglan, but it must have quite the rep from the way the doctor responded. wow. Hopefully you can get her in tomorrow--I...
  21. My advice would be to jump start a healthy weight loss by cutting out sugar and anything made with white flour (rice flour, etc). Focus on lean protein, veggies, and a little fruit. Lots of water. If you want faster results for a special occasion, by strict with it--just protein, salads, and veggies for a few days. Healthier for you than pills in...
  22. Hi Evangeline, glad you found us Actually, many of your symptoms are symptoms of Celiac--I had 13 of them myself. Although it's common, people don't always present with digestive problems. Things like anemia, depression, headaches can also tip you off to the possibility of Celiac. Elevated liver enzymes is another symptom, and many find that after...
  23. Hi Don, and welcome I'm in Houston, so I completely understand about the Blue Bell! Their Homemade Vanilla is the best!! It's safe, as are many of their flavors--basically most of them except the obvious ones with cookie pieces or similar baked goods stirred in and -- very important-- their Chocolate ice cream has wheat flour among the ingredients...
