  1. Hi Lots of good advice so far-- Before I was diagnosed, I was sick for many years. During that time, I tried various things on my own to try and feel better. For several years, I was a semi-vegetarian (my term). I ate a lot of beans, rice, salads, veggies, fruits, cheese, yogurt, etc. Chicken maybe once a week--that was the only meat I ate...
  2. Yes! Could you imagine Or Jerry Seinfield--I'd love to hear his take on gluten-free foods!
  3. Hi Laurie, Actually, this is a very good reply They are telling us that any gluten ingredients will be clearly listed. All we need to do is read the label--no gluten-free list needed!
  4. I bought the Science Diet at Petco
  5. It's 69, sunny and breezy right now. It's the most comfortable I've been in months
  6. I don't know if all of their cat foods are gluten-free, but I just put my cat on Science Diet Senior. Open Original Shared Link
  7. The Whole Foods Sandwich Bread has milk in it On the rare occasion I eat bread, I like the Gluten Free Pantry French Bread Mix. It's super simple to make--just mix it up in a big bowl, and bake it in the oven
  8. Yes, the first thing I thought was--maybe he has a problem with gluten!
  9. Yep--Nikki's right! I just put my cat on Science Diet Senior over the past weekend. He seems to love it--and has not thrown up once since starting on it!
  10. Hi Ciglee, Everyone has already given you good advice, I won't add anything else--I imagine you're feeling pretty overwhelmed today! I just wanted to welcome you to the board, and to let you know we'll be here for you
  11. Celia-- (See above)
  12. Yea Laura, I'm with you on that! I love having my hair done.
  13. I saw it on TV today--I was only half paying attention, but they made a big deal that it had an on/off button. When the button was pushed, he laughed and talked, waived, sat down (I think) and then collapsed on his back and laughed some more. It was kinda cute
  14. Hi Tiffany I also stay away from scented things. Just walking down the cleaning isles at the grocery store can turn my stomach! For laundry, I use Purex Free and Clear or All Free and Clear. All makes drier sheets that are free of perfumes. I like the idea of the more natural products from the specialty stores, but I tend to do a lot...
  15. Hi Susie, I went through the same thing last spring! Had no idea what to eat or not eat any more. I consulted with an allergist. When I asked him about the Igg testing for intolerances, he told me that those tests result in a lot of false positives. The reason he gave me is--every time we eat a food, our bodies make antibodies to it. After...
  16. In the back of the book "Dangerous Grains" is the longest list of symptoms I've found to date.
  17. Yo Ho Ho And A Bottle Of Rum!
  18. Not a chance!
  19. I know I reacted to wheat starch--and I didn't even eat it! It was an ingredient in some hair gel I was using before I knew better--I tend to bite my fingernails when I'm anxious, and I glutened myself that way. The mystery afternoon gluten episodes ended once I tossed the hair gel.
  20. I like that! I had wondered what it meant
  21. M-m-m wouldn't you like to know....
  22. That's great, Carrie! The kind of news we love to hear
  23. Hi Nire, welcome to the board Hard to say, but since no test is 100% accurate, and in Celiac testing, there seems to be more room for error, I think you have nothing to lose by trying the gluten-free diet. Make sure that you do it 100%--that's the only way it will work.. Give it 6 months, and see if it makes a difference. We have many people here...
  24. Thank goodness you stood your ground on the board! Can't imagine what I would have done without it this past year
  25. Hi Vincent, I was wondering how the little guy was doing. My kids, if I remember correctly, usually felt a lot better in a week or so. Maybe not completely back to normal, but significantly better. Not to be a pest, but if it gets toward a week, and he's still not doing much better, it might be a good idea to just have his ears looked at-...
