  1. We're all different, but I never had a problem sleeping with steriods. (I've even had the long-lasting kind that are injected) Since you took the first dose at 9:45, Can you take the second around 9PM? See how it affects your sleep--if at all. Tomorrow, take the first dose earlier--with breakfast. Then continue with it at dinner time. That...
  2. Well, I would take the first dose with breakfast and the second with dinner for the first nine days, and take the one at breakfast for the remaining 7 days.
  3. Beef stew, Nini's Chicken, steak grilled outside and baked potatoes, meatloaf (made with potato buds), baked pork chops--roasted potatoes done alongside, Tinkyada Pasta with gluten-free meatballs, pot roast with carrots and potatoes, grilled Cook's ham steak with sweet potatoes, pork roast with german potato salad, stir fries, homemade chicken soup, etc.
  4. I was going to suggest talking to Chelsea, but I see she's on the case So, you're considering a tattoo, Julie?
  5. I met my husband in July, got engaged in October (Halloween!), and married in April! That was 31 years ago--obviously not right for everyone, but it worked out well for us
  6. You should take this exactly as directed--what does it say on the label?

    ARCHIVED Glutened?

Ha--my doctor did the same thing--14 months ago! When I stumbled onto this board a couple months later, I learned more than I could have ever imagined about this disease. I'm glad you found us--you'll do fine
  8. That's interesting, Julie Actually, makes perfect sense! How've you been?
  9. It's gonna be ok, Lister. I think you agonized so much about the pills, you gave yourself an anxiety attack! Hope you can lay down, take a few deep breaths and relax. If you're at work, get caught up in something--stay busy so you won't have time to think about it.
  10. Tiffany-- Yes, that is a symptom. He's not absorbing, if he's Celiac, and his body is sending "signals" to send in more of what it is lacking.
  11. Hi Betty Don't blame you for being confused--considering you're still in so much pain! My guess is that the pain is from your ulcer and the emptying problem *and* from the Celiac. Celiac can certainly cause the kind of pain you describe--at least mine can! Granted, it dosen't happen to me very often any more--and I don't have the other conditions...
  12. Lister, You seriously need to relax. Really. Bites can take a day or two to itch--it varies. It sounds to me like a very typical reaction--in a couple days, they'll be gone. That has nothing to do with the meds you were supposed to start taking days ago. I've given you my thoughts--if it were me or one of my kids, I would start the meds, and try...
  13. It's always best to call the manufacturer directly and ask them. I've never had a problem with a pharmacist or nurse at any drug company that I have called. I've not had luck with my doctor or the local pharmacy (CVS)-- As far as antibiotics, I always get D and nausea with them--my doctor suggested I take them with a meal--not just a snack or a few...
  14. Rinne, Very interesting info about flouride. The article talks about elevated Billirubin levels--mine did go up slightly last year--the year I was drinking the filtered water from the fridge. I also have patches of eczema which have cleared or are finally clearing up, as well. I still use a toothpaste with flouride (I believe it's the only source...
  15. Lister, More likely than not, the doctor said 2 weeks as an aproximate--the extra is because you need to wean off of them slowly. This would account for the extra couple of days. Take them, already!
  16. Kathy, I have two thoughts-- Have you had your blood pressure checked? Even though high BP usually dosen't cause symptons, they can cause this type of headache. I used to get them, and when I was put on meds to bring down the BP, they went away. Another thing is stress--could you be under a lot of stress during the day? That could make you...
  17. To be on the safe side, I don't lick envelopes. If my husband or son aren't available, I use a moist, wadded up paper towel--gets the job done!
  18. Lister, I can't believe you haven't started your meds yet! A lot of us care about you on here--we wouldn't tell you that these are a good idea for you unless we really meant it. I've personally taken those pills--they provide a lot of relief when taken exactly as directed. It's just one course--the serious conplications come into play over the...
  19. Shirley--Yum!! I'm going to try that as soon as it cools off here
  20. Tiffany, How nice of them to include that mix for free! I checked out their site--unfortunately, they use tapioca and soy--so none for me The kicker is that they are available at Lois's Health Cupboard--which is 3 miles from me! Enjoy your goodies
  21. Armetta, Look very carefully at the penguin's face. I want to wish you and Lynne a wonderful, safe trip! Have fun--I'm so happy for both of you!
  22. Well, I think chocolate chips would be delicious in these. But then, I would put a little chocolate in just about anything! How you doing, Susan? Haven't talked to you in a while!
  23. I think the itching has to be connected. I get the itching with no rash or skin redness--it's gotten better the longer I'm gluten-free and have fewer reactions. I also use laundry detergents with no dyes or perfumes like All or Purex Free and Clear. That helps, too
  24. Wow--good one, Paulina! I'm gonna remember that
  25. I had both prior to going gluten-free. It took a few months before I noticed a positive difference. I wouldn't say that mine got worse after I started the diet--but the first month or two, it really didn't get any better. I still deal with it--after a year. It's not as severe, I'm able to deal with it, most of the time.
