  1. I used to get those every once in a while. I don't think I've had any since going gluten-free though. I also would get them on the inside of my forearms. Tiny red blisters that really itched. I don't know if they are connected to Celiac or not--just that I had them when I was sick, and have not had them again.
  2. Jen, so the Lundberg Rice Chips are good? I've seen them, but am having "chip issues" myself lately and wasn't sure. Thanks!
  3. Carrie--Obviously, I can't be of any help with finding stores since I live in New Jersey ! But I wanted to say congratulations on the new job!!! I know you've been looking for some time--that is really great! Best of luck with the move and the new position. They are lucky to have you
  4. I had those bruises, too! I remember I was seeking help from a chiropractor/accupuncturist, and he mentioned them--and asked me questions about my husband while checking points on my body that might indicate fear/anxiety! The bruises that were obviously caused by slight trauma were purple, but I would also get brownish ones for seemingly no reason at all...
  5. Yea--the Cliff Nectars are very chewy. I agree that their chocolate one is better than the Lara Cocoa one.
  6. You'll need 2 packages for a 2 layer cake. Bless your mom's heart--joining an excercise class! Hope the party preparations go smoothly, and the event is a great success
  7. Hi Betty--I use The GFP Cake and Cookie mix. It's very good, --I have not had much luck baking a cake from scratch gluten-free. Hopefully, others will have some great recipes, but I just use this and it turns out good every time. Open Original Shared Link free.com/glu/showdetl.cfm...ID=1474&CATID=1 A big happy birthday to your Mom!
  8. My sense of taste (and smell) is always affected when I get a cold or a sinus infection. It can last for 2-3 weeks. Do you have a post nasal drip? That could explain the taste.
  9. My gosh Tiffany--ouch!! I hope it's not too uncomfortable--feel better soon
  10. Thank you for this recipe for chips--I love them, but also seem to react to commercial ones. It is hit and miss with me--some bags are fine, some not. Probably depends on what they processed last.
  11. I use Monistat for the occasional yeast infection--it does irritate the area initally--I'm not sure why. As for your discharge, it does not sound like yeast to me. I would give the doctor a call--I know you don't want to, but if it is another type of infection, you should find out and begin treating it as soon as possible
  12. I do the same thing! I put some natural peanut butter on my bars--gives them an extra protein kick--and I stay full longer.
  13. PLEASE EVERYONE--Before this goes any further, let's just take a deep breath! This has been a great discussion so far--we need to stick to the subject of the thread. Thanks!
  14. I use The Gluten Free Pantry French Bread Mix. I mix it up in my Kitchenaid, and bake it in a loaf pan in the oven. It is really good! I slice it after it cools, and then keep it wrapped in the fridge.
  15. I know exactly what you mean--I didn't hear voices, but there was always a struggle going on in my head.
  16. Depression and anxiety are definately symptoms. I had both to the point where some days I would not get out of bed. Anxiety was one of my worst symptoms--I started having panic attacks in the mid 80's. The gluten-free diet has slowly lessened these for me. Depression is not a real problem anymore, and I get anxious when accidently glutened.
  17. I wish they had told the story differently, but I expected this kind of thing from House. It's how they handle all of the medical mysteries--and I think it usually makes for an interesting show. They take everything to the extreme.
  18. It's on at 9 PM Eastern.
  19. Yes! Carriefaith has a fantastic stuffing recipe that I made for Thanksgiving. It is on here in the recipe forum--you can do a search for it--I'll see if I can find it. Here it is (Post #3) Open Original Shared Link
  20. Jen--I've never heard of Klaron--hope it works out for you! Let us know... I don't go out in the sun much for any length of time because I'm very sensitive to it but I will use a little Calif. Baby when needed. Most of the time, the sunscreen in the BE is sufficent for me. Was this the new derm. you were going to see?
  21. Ha! That's the one "gluten" thing I do, too! I make my husband and son's lunches--I wash my hands immediately after, and have been fine. I actually would rather do it myself because I can contain the crumbs, keep everything on the plastic, etc. And when I clean up after, I know it's really clean
  22. Hi! Welcome!! I had to laugh when I read your post--I can relate I get a lot of things from Open Original Shared Link free.com/ I have a ton of other food intolerances, and am able to use most of their stuff. I love the French Bread Mix--it's excellent. Their piecrust mix, cake and cookie mix and brownie mix are great, too. Best of luck...
  23. Hi Danielle--If you are open to eating meat, I would suggest getting some "clean" hormone free, minimally processed chicken. They carry it at Whole Foods, if you have one near-by. It could be that you are now sensitive to soy, and that's not unusual. Unfortunately, these additional intolerances take a bit of "trial and error" to see what is actually causing...
  24. I went dairy free with positive results 2 years ago. I have been gluten-free for almost a year now, and I am more sensitive to dairy now than I used to be. A little bit will make me ill.
  25. Another great throat-soother is to combine a little honey and fresh squeezed lemon juice, warm a bit and take by the spoonful as you need it.
