  1. Thanks! Yes, I do have the neutralizer, too. I bought it last summer when I had a terrible case of poison ivy. I believe it helped it to heal faster. I agree about the chemicals--there are so few ingredients in there as it is. I will definately try the neutralizer as a hair gel--I can't find a natural one that I like.
  2. Karen, When I first saw the link--before I clicked on it--I thought it had to do with being a golf caddy!! I immediately thought, how will she manage out there on a huge golf course without a bathroom nearby?
  3. Elonwy--Sorry you got glutened, but glad that the Nulev worked for you!
  4. Franceen--I don't have DH, so I can't be of any help there. I just wanted to say I read your story, and it never fails to amaze me how clueless doctors can be! I got a similar runaround for years--it took 20 years for me to get my Celiac diagnosis. Welcome in--I'm sure others with DH experiences will weigh in soon
  5. I use potato starch. It's worked fine for my needs--but I've not used it to make the dishes you are wanting to make.
  6. Lynxear--I appreciate you going to so much effort to clarify that for me! You're right, among our group, you will run into many instances of additional food sensitivites! Ya know what they say--'you can't please all of the people all of the time' . Arrowroot does indeed look like a whole different animal than tapioca. Since other tubers, like potatoes...
  7. Tony--Thank you so much! I did not know it was the same as tapioca. Tapioca makes me very sick--I was thinking about trying arrowroot--you saved me from finding out the "hard way"!!
  8. Lord, yes! I used to take Prednisone for my "sinus" infections. Within a day, my face would balloon up--I looked like a frying pan. The injections of Decadron, which last 6 weeks are what made me gain the most weight. Over a period of about 4 years, I put on 30 lbs.
  9. Tiffany--you said Lawrenceville? That's where we used to live! We lived in the "Saratoga" subdivision. It was off hwy 29. Lived there almost 8 years, still have friends there. Sounds like you had a great meal
  10. Hi Betty--Been out today, and didn't see your post until now. I'm so sad that you're in so much pain! This is a tough thing to go through. For the life of me, I can't figure it out, either. I thought giving up gluten was going to be the answer to my longstanding health problems. No sooner do I master that, and the other intolerances make themselves known...
  11. That's exactly what used to happen to me, too. I thought I just was prone to viruses! If I had a trip or a special occasion coming up, I would avoid crowds and try and stay healthy. It happened right at the beginning when I went gluten-free. It hasn't happened since, though.
  12. Wow--thanks. The Prevacid does seem to help me, though. I can't believe we got the exact same diagnosis--I was beginning to think I was weird or something because my GI told me it was gas, and to take an over the counter gas med. He seemed uninterested in the whole thing . How do you handle it?
  13. Rusla and Molly--I'm happy that you both have such thoughtful people around you, you are both very lucky, indeed
  14. Yea--definately don't try it, it would be a waste of money. I have that partial box in the cabnet--more money wasted on something that didn't agree with me! What stores do you have to choose from? Do you have a small, local health food store? The one in my town has a very knowledgeable owner.
  15. I bought Culturelle at CVS. It was around $22 for a month's supply. It did not agree with me, and I stopped taking it after a week. I believe the problem for me was the lactose. If you have a problem with lactose, it would probably not be the right one for you. There is a lot of info. on probiotics--just google it--that's where I found out about the...
  16. I've never seen Gluten Free Living--where can I find it?
  17. Carrie--Those look really good! I love that they don't use gluten in anything. Thanks
  18. Thanks for posting that, Moongirl. When I suggest BE, I always follow with "their skincare line is not gluten-free". The skin rever-upper is also not gluten-free. No matter what product you use, it's always best to check the label
  19. I think my feeling of hot/cold have leveled off some since gluten-free. This past winter is the first one in memory that I didn't wear socks to bed. My feet used to be freezing. It will be interesting how the summer goes.
  20. Hi--I was having the same thing--I don't know, for me, if it's Celiac related because I began to have it about 5 months into the diet. That's the confusing part . But I wanted to tell you that I have a new Allergist who diagnosed me with bronchial spasms caused by reflux. He is treating me with Prevacid and Zyrtek. I've been taking them since Monday...
  21. I am a bit concerned about colon cancer, but it's because my dad had it. Luckily, it was caught very early (my dad is good about checkups and screenings) and he's still doing well after 25 years. My colonoscopy was normal last year, so that was a big relief!
  22. Rinku--Just checking! Nausea and dizziness are the worst Anyway, hope you're feeling better soon!
  23. I'm right there with ya, Deb--especially on the Tapioca Starch (ouch)! At least I still have potatoes
  24. Bev--when I first went gluten-free, I was actually having fun baking and enjoyed making "safe" goodies. I happily switched to gluten-free products, and really wasn't missing much. I loved WF breads. The honeymoon only lasted for a few months. I couldn't figure out what was up--I had been doing so well. The long and short of it is that I had to look at...
  25. No, he didn't really say. The first time I saw him was about a year before I was diagnosed. At the time, I had not even heard of Celiac. He did muscle testing on me, and told me I should not eat wheat, oats, barley or rye--that's the first time I had ever been told that. I didn't know at the time that that was a gluten-free diet! There were several other...
