  1. I'm so sorry! ((((Hugs)))) I hope for you that it's not food related as I know how much you've enjoyed getting foods back. Maybe try just the basics for a week to see if things settle down? When my gut gets bad I do chicken in the crockpot in broth, potatoes or sweet potatoes and a well cooked veggie. I agree with Gemini on the possibility of another...

    ARCHIVED Lost

I thought synchroid was not gluten free? I could be misinformed though. Have you checked the rest of your thyroid levels? Holter monitor might be needed. Kind of a pain. I had to wear one once a few years ago for a week. My problems turned out to be related to synthroid and switching meds fixed those. I understand the feeling of being sick and tired...

    ARCHIVED Lost

Hi Beth...I'm so sorry you are having such a rough time still. ((((Hugs)))) A few things...If you get generic thyroid medicine it can vary who makes it each time. My endo switched me to name brand Levoxyl for consistency and it is gluten free. When you say your TSH is normal, what is your #? Also, have they checked free T3 and free T4? Those tell...
  4. I haven't seen it, but I contacted the manufacturer of Florajen 3, as it's the one I use. Here's their statement: The FDA states “gluten free” is less than 20ppm. All Florajen probiotics test at less than 5ppm. Florajen probiotics are “gluten free.” Sincerely, Judy Myhre American Lifeline, Inc. Makers of Florajen So I'm continuing on with...
  5. Thanks Always! Good ideas. We leave in a few days and I'm excited, but anxious. I've got a little stash planned to bring...bananas, lara bars, cashews, snackaroons and chex...All things I eat safely. Wish me luck!
  6. I just wanted to share that I heard back from the makers of florajen 3 and this is their statement: The FDA states “gluten free” is less than 20ppm. All Florajen probiotics test at less than 5ppm. Florajen probiotics are “gluten free.” Sincerely, Judy Myhre American Lifeline, Inc. Makers of Florajen Sounds good to me!
  7. Thanks as always Gemini. I've been taking Florajen 3 as my probiotic for a while and have done well on it. My D is from Nature's Bounty and it says gluten free. I may change some things up based on your recommendations though.
  8. Aww...I'm so sorry. ((((Hugs)))) I don't have experience with what's going on with you but I understand your frustration. Another celiac and I have a couple of acronyms we use for all of this. WWIEE (when will it ever end) and IAS (it's always something). It definitely does feel like that at times...and when I walked out of my Dr's office with my diagnosis...
  9. That sounds awful...I'm sorry. (((Hugs))) You could give your Dr's office a call to check on the tests? Just a thought. Otherwise...hang in there.
  10. Thank you bart and Gemini! To me it's comforting to know celiac veterans use a product and feel good.
  11. Hi Lisa, I've been on Levoxyl since March. My Dr wanted to put me on a name brand since the pharmacies switch up generics and there are sometimes variations in the amount of medication between name brand and generic. Interestingly I was on 100 mcg of the generic and then switched to Levoxyl 100. Ended up hypo. It was awful. Switched me to Levoxyl ...
  12. Hi Gemini...would you be willing to share the brands you use, especially for probiotics. With your great blood work I would feel comfortable taking what you take. I will be getting mine done next month when I see my GI. I don't feel like I'm getting gluten...but I do continue to have some issues and reading the article certainly scared me. My D and ferritin...
  13. You have mentioned it before bart and your story has inspired me! The stories make me feel conflicted. Would you be willing to share the brand you are using safely?
  14. Chilly, rainy day here. I'm making chicken enchilada soup and corn bread.
  15. I hear you! After reading the article about probiotics testing positive for gluten I got scared. What if my probiotic has gluten? What about my thyroid med or D3? What if all 3 are under 20 ppm..but are each at 15. Would taking 3 things a day with that much gluten do something to me? I just don't know...but I don't like being scared. I eat a really...
  16. I'm so sorry. This situation sounds very difficult. ((((Hugs)))) I care about you. And everyone on here does too. I'm glad you are venting and really hope that it helps you. I wish I could do something else to help.
  17. I'm going to stop mine too and see if I notice a difference. It feels weird though as I've been taking them since diagnosis and was convinced I had to take them to get better.
  18. Well, that's not good. I'm wondering about mine now. It says gluten free...but I guess that doesn't mean anything?
  19. Sent this to my husband at work. His response..."my mom is the bread offerer!" Oh yes she is. She came to visit when I was 6 months into my diagnosis and brought a large bag of homemade gluten cookies that she continually offered to us. Then eating out she had a quesadilla and when she didn't finish it offered the rest to me. I said no I can't eat that...
  20. Goodness that's hard. I'm so sorry you are going through this. ((((Hugs)))) The ideas above are really good...I hole things get better for you quickly.
  21. Tonight I'm making grilled honey lime chicken, baked parmesan squash and something with rice or potatoes that I still need to decide.
  22. Something got me too...but I can't for the life of me figure out what. So...yesterday I prepared my standard I feel awful but need some nutrition meal...chicken cooked in a crock pot in broth, boiled potatoes and steamed carrots. Will be eating that until the tummy settles. So much to do here too...we have less than 2 weeks left of school and there's...
  23. Fantastic! Cristiana, you and I have discussed this cycle of stress before...good reminder.
