  1. Could try causally asking your family to get the blood test done next time they are at the doctors. They could have it and only have minor or no symtoms to it. There is a form of it called silent celiacs with no outward symptoms but it is still destroying your villi and causing your body to slowly degrade. Doing so could shed some light on other issues, make...
  2. It will prolong your life....celiac is a autoimmune disease that causes your own immune system to attack you. The longer your eating gluten the worse it gets, I mean all kinds of other autoimmune disease, food allergies, food intolances. One day you could lose the ablity to eat carbs, or sugars, or become randomly allergic to tomatoes or corn all cause...
  3. Yeah I think it has something to do with our overly aggressive immune systems. not gotten virus sick in over 2 years despite being around people who are sick, sorta miss getting sick cause of a virus instead of getting sick cause I ate something that makes me throw up.
  4. It is gluten free, and often featured at gluten free expos I have attended. It is quite trusted by the community to be free of most allergens. I personally make and sell my own artisan blends of almond butters and prefer those, But I have used sun butter as a tahini substitute in some recipes as I have a issue with sesame seeds. Oddly enough it is and non...
  5. The Rash and various other symptoms are strong signs of Celiac, multiple people in your family also have it. I see several of your symptoms as very familiar to me myself, and I know that supplementation will help resolve the rest of your issues with a gluten-free diet. While we do suggest getting tested for confirmation if your limited as you say with insurance...
  6. ...ON a side note this is quite easy, you can make your own out of any gluten-free Bread mix, I recently started using a coconut flour blend for this.......Most often people associate caraway with Rye Bread so you just add caraway seeds to the dough and a bit more vinegar to sour it a tad and BAM gluten-free Rye Bread knock off. I think Authentic Foods even...
  7. As mentioned before you said she had rashes, have they checked if that is DH? That is a positive sign of celiac and those with the DH manifestation can have problems getting a postive with the gut biopsy. Here are some links. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Please read up on this. She can get the rash tested for the disease...
  8. I use Swirve Sweetener, Pyure , Xlear brand Xylitol, and for a mayo sub I use Walden Farms, There was a avocado oil based one I use sometimes forgot the name. >.> I can not have sugars due to UC. But I might suggest using Big Tree Coconut Sugar for a deep rich low glycemic sugar. I still use them in my bakery. I will admit some stuff with dextrose...
  9. I use almond, and coconut a lot now my bakery used to use oat and almond blends. We never used rice, or starches as our goal was to keep it low glycemic. Now days we are transitioning to cut out oats. I started having....ok I omitted and gave in after being in denial a similar reaction to oats (10% of celiacs do if I recall) over a year ago. Anyway as for...
  10. I would say get retested, to be sure, do a gluten challenge with her where she eats gluten for 12 weeks, not much just a half slice of bread a day or a wheat cracker for the blood test and 2 weeks for the biopsy. You mentioned bumps, and dry patches...this might be DH from celiacs and if it is you can go to a dermatologist and they can test it. In some people...
  11. WE all react differently to different amounts, but regardless any amount will trigger the antibodies that damage our body. Gluten is a protein, like blood proteins, if you do not trust cleaning it where a CSI tech will not find it then do not trust it. As it is a protein molecule,.....it is smaller then a germ. As it is a protein it can be destroyed by extremely...
  12. Jack Fruit, has the same texture as meat. Use Naked Jackfruit for a roast texture extra tender, Upton has a tough meat texture. Grind it up for homemade sausage in a meat grinder, you can texture it a bit with ground flax seed, cumin adds a meaty flavor. I use the stuff all the time in my recipes I currently have huge batches of various flavors in my freezer...
  13. I had alot of the nerve and mental issues with this disease. I WAS going crazy, like the brain fog and confusion topped with the anger of not knowing why my mind was looping on thoughts and not moving forward, and my hands were not moving like I wanted them to, so I could not work on stuff or play games. It was so frustrating, I was banging my head on walls...
  14. We are all different in the way celiac effects our body. I would suggest either Doctors Best Magnesium powder as it is easier on the stomach. Or natural vitality calm, tad harsher but great if you have constipation also. Both of these I suggest starting at 1/4 dose then slowly adjusting it up. I personally get my vitamin D from almond milk and other sources...
  15. Specialty Pizza Options Open Original Shared Link ^Grain Free Pizza They use Dairy Cheese blended with chicken breast to form personal pizza crust. You can order them frozen and shipped to you. Open Original Shared Link ^Grain Free Pizza using eggs, coconut and arrowroot for a base crust blend. The Naked pizza crust is dairy free. Order...
  16. Yeah DO not eat out for a few months, and only eat after talking to the chef, and manager about your issues. Check FindMeGluten Free app and look for places with MULTIPLE good reviews in your area. The gluten free menu is for health fads not the medical required gluten-free diet. Eat whole foods only for the next few weeks or months to boost your healing...
  17. Sweating and chills at night are a constant for me and have been for years. No real cause behind them, now my lymph nodes swell and tighten up in my neck as a first sign to gluten, and a few others have similar issues. Oddly enough this only happens with inhaled flour or eating something highly contaminated IE I need need to go home and get in bed with a...
  18. Update going in next week for xrays, The pus is gone now, it just drains clear fluid and blood now, no lancing just gets a tad bit of pressure pain and when I rub above the gums under my nose it just drains out that little spot that used to have the pimple like thing seems to be a duct for draining now. I have also incorporated using a hydrogen peroxide...
  19. Creamy Butternut and bacon soup This soup is great for recovery. Older recipe I used to live on 1 chopped onion of choice (360g) 2 tbsp minced garlic 2-4 chopped Strips of turkey bacon (Vegan Version sub in 2-4tsp of liquid smoke if you wish to keep that smokey flavor or omit) 4 cups almond or cashew milk (use 2 cans coconut milk and 1 cup water...
  20. OMG I can smell things like that too on people, I can tell what someone ate often. My issues is taste, my taste and mouth nerves are damaged.....SOO wish you lived closer I could hire her to taste my deserts for markets lol. I tend to over season things to compensate at times. She sounds so fun to cook for and seems so well behaved with the way you describe...
  21. Thoughts on blending veggies into dips? I oddly enough have made a taco dip out of asparagus and peas, and made a queso out of egg plant blending them. Should I share these? Might be a way to implement more veggies into the diet. I also have recipes for making Alfredo sauce out of cauliflower, and a lovely creamy butter nut squash soup recipe.
  22. As mentioned corn which is another semi common issue like oats, and the fact that 10% of celiacs react to oats just like gluten grains is another thought that popped up. Hopefully she is not one of those, I have the oat issues and allergic to corn. It is quite a pain and limits me more so to only a few brands. Might see how just some corn treats her on a...
  23. If sugars are causing you bloating also it could be a issues with a fructose or sugar intolerance, a odd allergy, etc. Might try doing a very very simple diet. I could also be CC from your pan. Try eating WHOLE foods only nothing processed ,no sauces, condiments etc. Just try eating very simple 2-4 ingredient meals bland as possible to see if you can narrow...
  24. Actually transitioning to a grain free line. Both my adopted parents are diabetic, so my earlier lines where already focused on low glycemic and used oat, bean, and almond bases for muffins, brownies, cookie cakes etc. But as I later started reacting to ALL oats like gluten (I am that 10% of celiacs that do it seems) and then discovered I had UC. I moved...
  25. Yep 3 years in for me, spent life the same way pretty much. Looking for a partner in crime to help run my gluten-free bakery business and spend my life with is a pain. Well at least I have requirements down lol. Who knows might get lucky and find someone with celaics, I keep looking and posted here even, dating sites, etc. Trying to pick people up at a...
