  1. Watch out for those anti inflammatory drugs. They are really harsh, thats why im in the position im in with the ulcer.Beth you should really try sucking down some ginger, it really is the only thing that helps my back. Although nothing seems to help today. I have a endoscopy for the ulcer and celiac tomorrow. So nothing that might potentially thin the...
  2. Interesting. That would I could eat out once in a while without giving myself an anxiety attack about cross contamination.
  3. Could you provide a link to the product info? I don't have a kroger here. Red beans and rice is super tasty! I make dishes like that alot but i always change it up. Do you have a crock pot or other slow cooker? I would imagine it would be pretty easy just to throw everything in there and let it cook all day. You would also save yourself from weird unknown...
  4. Mashed cauliflower, I just use olive oil and herbs and stuff. whatever im in the mood for.I have been liking mashed white beans with onions and oregano lately. Take about a 1 inch ginger root and puree it in my nutribullet with about a cup of water. Then I pour it into a pot and simmer it with about a tablespoon of honey on the stovetop for a few minutes...
  5. Yes, I was tested for h.pylori. it was negative. Ulcers can also be caused by over using nsaid drugs like aleeve, Advil and aspirin. Before I discovered that ginger helped the arthritis in my back, I was taking 4 Advil at a time, and it only made the pain tolerable. Let's not forget the chronic headaches and other pains. I've taken a lot of Advil and aleeve...
  6. Some of those before and afters it looks like they are bloating out their bellies in the before. I actually did a little looking into those wraps. They are made from stuff that reduces bloating and tightens skin (think hemorrhoid cream for puffy eyes) and it wears off in a month. It's not for real. Also their supplements and diet are common sense stuff that...
  7. Beth, i hope the pain gets better. Keep us posted on how you are feeling and what the doc says. My boyfriend is very supportive, but I really don't like to feel like a stick in the mud so I kind of keep to myself about the crazy health stuff. It's been one of those months though. You know, where everything goes wrong and im just always back and forth...
  8. Did you say you were expecting? That is wonderful! I would suspect that celiac disease is why you were not able to conceive for so long. I am glad you are feeling better. My doctor just told me to do whatever I can to avoid gluten. He didn't say anything about 'square one'. I personally have a whole slew of issues when i consume gluten (knowingly...
  9. Currently I have an ulcer in my stomach, endo coming up this friday. Have you been tested for celiac or are you just assuming you are only GI ? I know inflammation is a hallmark of celiac disease. A few years ago, before I ever had an idea that i might have celiac disease I had a really bad pain above my right hip. I was really concerned that it was my appendix...
  10. Also you are not the only one to be getting the run around from doctors and insurance companies and this and that! Its a common issue!
  11. I was gluten free for 3 1/2 months and my blood results still came back off the charts positive. Of course I was new and missed some things, like soy sauce and eating cross contaminated french fries. Everyone is different i suppose. So who knows?
  12. I am glad for it. The first few days off gluten was tough, but after 2 weeks i had insane energy. Then now with the ulcer, ive been feeling like crap for over a month. I have some other strange symptoms like my arms and legs going asleep really easy and feeling like i have burns on random parts of my body. im really hoping i dont have nerve damage. Does...
  13. Thank you Sara. I have been really trying the past few days to get my mind off things, but with little results. I find it so hard to stop worrying, its nearly impossible sometimes. I had been taking zantac and it helped when I just had heartburn, but then it started wearing off and stopped helping. Zantac is an H2 blocker which is effective for regular...
  14. I have been taking probiotics for years, I credit that with my ability to tolerate dairy the little bit that I can tolerate. The doc says dairy is acidic, so i should cut out the little bit that i do eat. I know what aggravates the ulcer. Mostly just stuff like coffee, but avoiding coffee still doesnt change the fact that its still there, and still hasnt...
  15. I use bobs red mill coconut flour. I love it, plus you use half as much as regular flours. The brownie recipe i posted is made with coconut flour already, so you dont need to do any math, just bake! I would add chips of some sort, chocolate or something.
  16. I recently used this recipe, It was like real baking! Open Original Shared Link I really loved the results, they were good but not quite moist enough! I used sugar instead of honey or maple. I was talking to my sister in law and she suggested using vegetable oil instead of butter to fix the moistness problem.
  17. I could be wrong, but i think people have problems with certain combinations too. I know someone who gets terrible stomach issues from eating dairy with spicy food, but separately they are fine.
  18. I would agree that it might be something else you are putting in the salad. I have also had this problem, but not recently. It used to be when i would have a salad with gluten. err basically anything, i had stomach problems every day of my life. Then when i went to the bathroom there would be whole pieces of lettuce in there. Gross and TMI i suppose. As for...
  19. Oh and bananas!, ive been eating those at least 1 a day, which i was always told they will make you constipated if you eat more than 1 a day.
  20. Nature chick- I have tried so much other things to heal this ulcer, with no luck. Because of the arthritis in my back, ginger is a regular thing for me. I have read about all the items you listed. I was at a steampunk convention a couple weekends ago and I was so happy to find all different kinds of honey sticks! They made it alot easier to get through the...
  21. Their Oreo type cookies are amazing. Fooled non-Gluten-Free people
  22. The arthritis shows up on an xray in my back, I wonder if t will ever get better? I have noticed if I make a tincture of ginger, water and honey it is the only thing that helps the arthritis. Ginger is a very powerful anti inflammatory. It seems to last for a few days if I make it strong. My fave was when I was eating super healthy and the doc runs tests...
  23. I stopped eating beef almost 10 years ago because it made me nearly sick to my stomach every time I ate it. That was the first time I cut something from my diet. I would check spices and do elimination of some ingredients next time.
  24. Some days I just can't tell the difference between the physical and emotional pain. You would think dx would make me feel better, but I think it actually brought out more anger, because I don't think I'm crazy anymore because I know I'm not. I know they were the stupid wrong ones all these years, not me! I now know it wasn't my fault all these years, but...
  25. I know how you feel and have been trying to get used to it too. I have been enjoying using coconut flour. I ended up baking twice last week because it all got ate up! I used regular recipes and used 1/2 c coconut flour instead of 1 cup regular. But you need to increase eggs to 3-4, or about 6 per cup of coconut flour.I made brownies, which were very good...
