  2. They sell them here in Seattle Northgate Target as well. I cant have them but my daughter can.
  3. HA! I remember when I thought I could eat McDonalds Fries because they are just potatoes! HAhahahaha

  4. Yes this too. Fret not though! Either way, it is going to work itself out. I AM SO allergic to corn blah.... I have been gluten-free for over a year and so I tried it the other week for just the reason NVSMOM said. It still did not work out for me, but I am going to try again in a few more months before I give up. Meanwhile, I will stand here making my...
  5. Hot dogs sormally have corn syrup in them and if i remember correctly, you are allergic. also beware that they cacn have any number of other fillers. Ham can as well. Johnsonvill makes a great ground sausage tht is corn free. Not the one in the casing though, you have to get the one that is just ground sausage. Corn could have also been in the crackers....
  6. Gluten/Grain Free Tortillas from: Open Original Shared Link I've made these a few times. Easy , quick, and delicious. You really do want to get them as thin as you can, though. Use a LARGE frying pan or griddle. The recipe calls for a small 8" on but I find it easier with a larger one so I can control size better. I will be making a casserole...
  7. Campbell's Tomato Soup Copycat I adapted this recipe from produceonparade.com The first time I tried this recipe was last night. I WAS FLOORED! It is such a good copy cat.. MY GOODNESS! I am still smiling. I used it to make a stuffed pepper stoup. But all of those things you can make with the canned stuff you can now make with this! Stuffed...
  8. I concur, even when you thought you were being gluten free, it seems you probably were not. One of the best things you can do is follow the directions to the letter of getting gluten out of your kitchen (from pans to cutting boards to toasters) I know there are some great "how to" links out there for that. 2nd read EVERY label. not just that but learn all...
  9. haha !! I would love to cook for non whining dish washers! :D Come over anytime! Tonight is left over night. That Stuffed Pepper Soup I made last night was fantastic..and there was a lot of it. We all had 3rds. The recipe I tried for copy cat cambells tomato soup was astounding! just WOW!!! Just like the real thing and all gluten/grain free. YES...
  10. Ah this evening I will be making a Stuffed Pepper Soup. Before I get started on it, I will be making copy cat Campbells Tomato Soup , and THEN we will get busy! I just finished a Salted Caramel Fudge that is chilling in the fridge. I even did dishes today as the others were complaining that I "only" cook. Someone needs to have a talk with them! LOL
  11. Salted Caramel Fudge I was shopping and looking for caramel that was grain free. I found ZERO corn syrup free offerings so I bought some heavy cream and went home to make my own. If you need to be dairy free, You can actually use coconut cream from the can and vegan margarine. Apparently it works wonderfully. I cannot vouch as I've never tried it but...
  12. Nothing wrong with adding chocolate to ANYTHING! MOUHAHAHA How about these stuffed with chocolate instead? With a paring knife, cut off the strawberry stems. Cut around the inside of the strawberry, hollowing out slightly and creating a well for the cheesecake or chocolate (mousse?). Cut off a small portion of the pointy strawberry tip, so that each...
  13. OK hmmm... Is there a vegan version of cream cheese or something in similar consistency? Because cream cheese stuffed strawberries seem very very valentiny to me!
  14. Eggs in Purgatory 2 Ways Tonight we are indulging in some simple but fresh and delicious Italian fare. There are not a lot of ingredients so be sure to use the BEST ingredients. If you go for the 1st way, as I have this evening, be sure to find the darkest red tomatoes you can find. Actually use fresh basil and grate your own parmeggiano (or pecorino...
  15. OOHH I had my gall bladder out last year ON Valentines day. Unfortunately they started it laproscopically but then had to slice me wide open. Apparently the stones had worked their way down into the bile ducts of my liver or some such. It was a hard and long recovery. Infection, slow healing, horrible pain... It took 3 months to even be able to sit up...
  16. What is wrong is they give the impression (like they did to her friends from church) that she would be ok. People who do not deal with this directly, do not pay such close attention. As you can see was the case when they explained to her that she could someday eat wheat again...even though it was stated that this did not apply to celiacs. What if some well...
  17. UHmm "dr" Oz is in so much trouble for doing so many bad things that even CONGRESS has taken him to task. I am glad you are taking care of YOU, that is perfect, but please ...somehow explain to these ladies what a crack pot this guy is!
  18. OH MAI MAMAW!! You need to stock pile *nods* vigorously*
  19. Right?? I would LOVE to host you! haha It would be great to host people that were able to feel 100% safe about eating at my home simply because my kitchen is gluten free on top of a tasty gluten-free meal. I keep that recipe blog here because I hope that newly Dx'ed people will be able to have a look/see and feel a bit better because a person CAN MAKE ANY...
  20. Oh sounds like so much fun! I do not know anyone to invite to dinner parties yet, here in my new city. I LOVE to have dinner parties haha I never even bother to tell them it will be grain free. Except if those choose to bring any alcohol, anyway. Dont work too hard, that is a LOT of oysters!!!
  21. Thats great!! I take 3 times the recommended dose because I do not absorb things well. Nothing happens if you take more, you pee out the excess, as far as I know. It is also a safety thing if you plan on children to protect them from spinal issues during gestation. I am so glad to hear youre feeling better!
  22. I have tried to get her to go gluten free. Just to see if she would get better. She is aware of how ill I am and have been over it. She has read all of what Ive sent her. She did go gluten free at home. She is 17 though and she has a job and a life and I am not her master. She would buy Cookies at the cookie corner, and snacks at the grocery store after...
  23. That is what I was getting at.
  24. You should be able to get a doctors note regarding it as medically needed. It Seems your Pediatrician may be willing to do that. On a more practical level, you may want to ALWAYS pack her lunches and even with the note, personally speak to her teachers directly. if she is so sensitive. JMHO
  25. I really don't think too hard on it anymore either. It just "is" now. I do feel a bit sad when I see people so upset about it though. I remember being so upset. Over time, I really have learned that anything a person can make with gluten, can be made without. It is not the end, it is just a change. I do a form of paleo called primal. Only because my body...
