    Thanks everyone for the support! We haven't set a date yet but are thinking of this summer. It is a second marriage for both of us and we have a total of 5 kids between us.     Al, The GI that did my biopsy recommended that I have my GP refer me to a dietition. He said that although there is alot of great info on the internet, it would be best to seek the advice of a professional (face to face).     Carrie, Thank you for posting this. I have been using this lotion for about a month and haven't had any issues. (I read the label and didn't see anything that looked like gluten.) But, it is good to get confirmation from manufacturers as well. Thanks again,

    Sorry that I don't have any advice for any cheaper breads. I know that many on this forum make their own (bread machines), but I have not attempted that yet. I found that at first, it was best for me to just forget about bread. For me, I would rather go without, than eat something that I thought tasted like crap. I am not implying that quitting bread...

    I have been on the gluten-free diet since the end of October and definitely remember what it feels like at first. I felt the same way that you are describing that you feel. It does get easier (althought I'm not sure that I will ever feel 'normal' about all this, but only time will tell). Another thing - I am noticing that my taste buds are adapting...

    I have been prescribed betamethasone ointment before (years ago - before dx). If I recall correctly, it is a type of corticosteroid (sp?) ....... but don't quote me on that.

    Elonwy, I do the same thing! Today at work I went into our kitchen and there was a huge platter of deli sandwiches on the counter (crumbs everywhere of course). I was ranting and raving about their nasty "gluten- infested"food.

    Also, some of us who have DH are super-sensitive to gluten-containing skin products. As a matter of fact, that bothers me more than ingesting gluten (symptom wise, anyway). Before being dx, I was using Aveeno Mediacated Lotion because I thought the menthol in the lotion was soothing. But the funny thing was, a couple of hours after applying it, any relief...

    I was very sure that I had checked 'maltodextrin' before and thought that it was safe. I just googled it and from what I can see, it is made from 100% corn starch. But now, I am wondering - does it depend on the manufacturer?

    I thought that I saw this product listed somewhere before (in one of my various lists), but I can't seem to find it now....sorry Personally, I find it easy to just stick with Kraft products - I think their French Onion Dip is yummy!

    Icing from a can.......bowl.............mixer.................spatula.............you name it - I've done it! But, how many of you have ever eaten DRY cake or brownie mix??? (Before going gluten-free of course!) Honest to goodness.......I would get really bad cravings for it. Sick, I know.

    I had some New Year's Eve in some coffee (to try and make it to Midnight). I don't know if it bothered me or not as I have only been gluten-free for about 3 months.     I just tried the sugar-free pancake and waffle mix from Namaste. The pancakes were AMAZING! I couldn't believe how good they were. We doctored them up a little with a little sugar and some extra vanilla. I am very picky and still trying to get used to the gluten-free diet and I LOVED THEM! I froze the leftovers and will use them for breakfasts at work...

    I guess I was VERY lucky - my GP sent me to a dermatologist for the ugly, ugly, excrutiatingly itchy, burning, rash (did I say ugly?). Of course that was only after treating me for various other skin conditions (including scabies! That was a fun time......terrible lotion with potential terrible side effects, disinfecting the entire house, plus the embarrassment...

    Wendy's lists salsa among their menu items that are gluten-free. However, there is a disclaimer that theycannot guarantee foods to be gluten-free (big surprise).     Why no salsa at Wendy's with the taco salad? I thought it was listed on their gluten-free menu? Did I misread it?

    Judy, Personally, I like the guide. It lists restaurants by state, and indicates if they have a gluten-free menu, an extensive gluten-free menu, a chain restaurant with a gluten-free menu, or if the restaurant does not have a specific gluten-free menu, but the staff has been accomodating to other Celiacs. There is also a section of gluten-free menus...

    I have it too and am on Dapsone - it is an oral antibiotic that really helps, but has some potential side effects. It cleared it up - about 85% - within 48 hours. I don't using anything topical except for regular skin lotion. I was diagnosed with this first - before the celiac. That is how I found out that I had it - I didn't really have much problems...
