  1. Taco Bell has gluten free options on their website. As far as I can remember the only thing that is safe is the pintos and rice or something like that. I can't remember. We stay as far away from Taco Bell as possible.
  2. I definitely wouldn't take any extra vitamins unless recommended to do so by your OBGYN. The best thing for you and your baby is probably to relax as much as possible, drink extra water, and make sure you're getting a healthy, well rounded diet including snacks. I know you're probably already doing that, but when I get glutened I take it to the extreme and...
  3. Throw me your best apple cinnamon flavored anything recipes: cakes, doughnuts, danishes, pastries, etc... I'm having an apple cinnamon craving and I just don't know what to make.
  4. I would call Enterolab and discuss things with them. I had to call them about a year ago regarding having my daughter tested. They were very open and honest and actually discouraged me from testing her since she was so young and had been gluten free for several months. As a matter of fact, I ended up ordering the test anyway for her just to support them....
  5. Ok, so we've been really struggling with my daughter's potty training lately. She had been potty trained without any accidents for over two months, then all of a sudden she started having accidents after eating out. We assumed this was due to gluten. Then, over the past two or three weeks she's started having daily accidents right in front of the toilet....
  6. For the trip I would highly recommend getting a few Thermos food jars, the more expensive the food jar, the longer the food will stay hot. Fill them up with things like pasta w/ sauce, mashed potato, chicken in gravy, hot dogs in boiling water, or even a casserole. If you get the good food jars, it will definitely stay warm for 10 hours. I think I paid roughly...
  7. I have found the coolest product ever! It makes your clothes so unbelievably soft and clean feeling, no more itchies... Open Original Shared Link I confirmed that it is gluten free and it's also labeled as hypoallergenic. It appears to just be cloth of some sort with perhaps some rubber or something lining it??? I'm not sure. I do know though that it...

    ARCHIVED Mcdonalds

Well, I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I guess tonight will have been my last McD's trip then. There's no WAY I'm sitting down and planning a whole menu for my family before leaving to get fast food. Totally not worth it. Tori will be sad.

    ARCHIVED Mcdonalds

I can't find the gluten free menu online anywhere on McDonalds site. I found the old menu by googling, but the menu items have changed quite a bit since that menu was published. The newer menu items don't list the grilled chicken breast as gluten free as it contains hydrolized wheat gluten. Can anyone else find the gluten free menu on McD's website or have...
  10. Wow, I must be really lucky. My McDonalds has a dedicated fryer at the opposite end of the kitchen from the other fryers. They have a dedicated fry person during busy hours that touches nothing but the french fries and the french fry fryers. This McDonalds is one of the few places I have NEVER gotten glutened. I always get a side salad and an order of fries...

    ARCHIVED Tbtests

I don't think having an autoimmune disorder should affect immunizations. In fact, my immune system seems to be on hyperdrive all the time. Since going gluten free I get sick far less than my friends and when I do get sick it's often much lesser than the people around me. Even with being pregnant and therefore immune system weakened, I am still getting sick...
  12. Your health food store is correct. Potato starch flour is the same as potato starch. Potato flour (minus the word starch) is the one that's different.
  13. My daughter (not dx'd) wets herself for approximately 3 days after going out to eat generally. I'm assuming it's a gluten issue. She's already strictly gluten free, but it's likely she's getting trace amounts of gluten when we go out. She's not very careful about where she shoves her fork or her fingers, she's only 3. Anyway, I would check into everything...
  14. If you're having problems with salad dressing, I suggest making your own. You can get a salad dressing shaker on amazon .com for about $5. I just mix equal amounts of lemon juice, oil, and rice vinegar (test yourself on this to make sure you don't get sick), then I add sugar and cilantro to taste. It's very good and tastes great on both regular salads and...
  15. If they are truely that negligant, I would be in contact with my lawyer. That's just absurd. I could understand one mistake, but not that one mistake and then the ongoing mistakes with the food. That's just unacceptable. Can you transfer her to another hospital?
  16. It would probably be in her best interest then if food were brought from home. If you can't make time for that, there are several programs that will deliver pre-made gluten free meals. They're expensive, very expensive, but it may be your mother's best chance. If she's being forced to eat gluten or not eating at all that leaves her body with very little resources...
  17. Bring food from home that is gluten free in the meantime. Then speak to the hospital's nutritionist.
  18. Does anyone make a casein free pudding? That would probably work for a substitute. Perhaps applesauce and gelatin would work as well? I'm just guessing here. Maybe a gelatin mix with water would work??? Lemon would probably be really good in a danish.
  19. Kinnikinnick has awesome donuts!!! Especially the chocolate glazed ones... I'm not much for chocolate, but these are divine!!!
  20. If you are in one of the Disney parks, have no fear... Gluten free food is EVERYWHERE!!! They even have gluten free brownies at some of the Disney parks. Call ahead and have them e-mail you a list of gluten free foods in each park, this way you'll be able to easily help the group decide where to eat based on selection. Disney is the easiest place to vacation...
  21. Gluten includes wheat, barley, rye, and oats. Things labeled as wheat-free can still contain barley, rye, and oats. This would NOT be considered gluten free. Things that are gluten free are always wheat free.
  22. These danishes are incredible!!! I made a double batch and I used cherry preserves for the fruit topping. WOW!!! I don't think it could have possibly tasted any better!!! These would be good without the fruit topping as well with just the cream cheese mixture. They would also be great with just the fruit topping and a light icing drizzled over them. For...
  23. This sort of, kind of relates. Last pregnancy (pre-dx) I had normal platelet counts. This pregnancy (gluten free) my platelet counts are high, but not abnormally so. Perhaps it does relate.
  24. This is my 2nd. I'm due August 31st. It's a girl! We had a 3d ultrasound done, so we're sure on the sex. Celiac hasn't affected my pregnancy at all other than making it about 50 times easier than my last pregnancy. It's amazing how much energy you can have while pregnant.
  25. Tori is doing well. She finally got to feel the baby moving, so she's pretty excited about it now. She puts her head up to my belly "just to make sure Annika isn't needing something." She's such a sweetheart. I'm so glad that it's finally warm out. Tori has been eating it up. I've taken her to the park and Dutch Wonderland so far as well as just playing outside...
