  1. Glad to hear you're doing well. How are you feeling about the whole Celiac thing now? Is this still a trial period?
  2. Patti, so glad to hear that things went well... I'm still sending you lots of love, prayers, and hugs. Does anyone know how long she'll be in the hospital? I don't know what the standard stay is for that procedure.
  3. Is this Disneyland in CA that you guys are talking about?
  4. Your immune system is weakened when you're pregnant. This may keep your glutening reactions at a minimum. Though, I would stay vigilant with the diet while pregnant, I wouldn't stress yourself out if you get glutened. Your baby will pull all the nutrition he/she needs to develop properly and you will likely be the only one lacking nutrition, if at all. Many...
  5. Unilever's Popsicle brand appear safe.
  6. Jerry, any chance you could set aside a full day and do some baking so you have convenience foods there that are gluten free? I have some wonderful, and easy to make, recipes that I would be happy to share with you. I make pizza, breadsticks, and hamburger buns all with the same recipe. I generally make a triple batch at a time and then make one pizza and...
  7. I agree... I think it may have even been better after being frozen.
  8. I just wanted to comment on Tinkyada since it's the common favorite around here. A few weeks ago I made a HUGE lasagna. We put a few pieces in the freezer since there was so much left over. I just took out the first piece today for lunch. Wow!!! It's really good reheated out of the freezer. I heated it on low heat in the microwave. The noodles are wonderful...
  9. What brand of diapers is best? generic diapers should be fine for during the day when you'll be closely monitering whether or not the baby needs a diaper change, we prefer Pampers for night time and long car rides What brand of wipes is best?We like Pampers unscented wipes, they are gentle and soft and they don't leave a funky slime behind like some of the...
  10. :)
  11. I'm always here... Does Sprite count for doing a toast???
  12. Milk could possibly cause these symptoms, but it would be best to ensure that you eliminated all gluten from your life first. Have you checked all of your makeup, shampoo, soaps, lotions, hairspray, mousse, dishsoap, dishwasher soap, household glues, art/craft materials, etc? Do you have other family members in the house that aren't gluten free? Are you still...
  13. Jerry, I can assure you no one wants you to starve. We only want you to get better. I hope you don't take offense to this, but let me just tell you how I see things. You came to this forum in search of answers. Obviously you felt/feel as though there's a problem. Then some very heavy denial set in when you were getting closer to some answers. Since then...
  14. The Gluten Free Pantry's Favorite Sandwich bread is awesome. I add onions, green peppers, black pepper, garlic powder, and cheddar cheese to it. I generally make my moist breads (ie: pumpkin, banana...) in the oven.
  15. I just wanted to let you guys know that the following items are on sale right now... I'm in no way affiliated with the company, just wanted to pass along the savings.
  16. I use Mission brand corn tortillas for burritos and they turn out really well. I actually just made some last night. Yum!
  17. They e-mailed me back and said some of their products contain trace amounts of gluten, but they couldn't (wouldn't) verify which ones. They said they don't test for gluten. Maybe I'll try it though since you guys haven't had any problems. I'm pretty sensitive so I'll know if I'm getting glutened. Stretch marks can appear at any time. Sometimes they even...
  18. Too much liquid could cause that, so could baking too quickly. You may try adding a teaspoon of plain unflavored gelatin to your mix and see if that helps. Also, try reducing the liquid if the gelatin doesn't help.
  19. I used Palmer's stretch mark cream all through my first pregnancy and managed to walk away without a single stretch mark. I'd like to use it again if it's gluten free. Anyone have any ideas? I e-mailed the company today, but I wanted to go buy some at the mall today if anyone knew for sure. If it's not gluten free, anyone have a good substitute?
  20. I second the notion on Gillian's. They do fall apart easily, but they taste so "normal" that it's worth the little bit of extra mess. All of the other gluten free breads fall apart too, so why not choose the one that tastes great. I also make my own buns and rolls using Bette Hagman's Easy Pizza Recipe with my own flour mix. They hold together really well...
  21. They're fabulous. They're especially good if you add lots of extra brown sugar and take them on the road. They stay nice and moist so long as they're room temperature or warmer. If they get cold, they have to be heated to soften back up.
  22. Good for you, Jerry! I hope this is the first step towards your recovery.
  23. I make pumpkin pancakes and they are fabulous. Sometimes I add much more brown sugar so we don't need syrup. This is great for breakfast on the go. If you leave the sugar as is, serve with warm maple or cinnamon syrup. Yum! These are the best pancakes I've ever eaten, gluten free or not. INGREDIENTS * 2 cups flour mix (3 parts white rice, 2 parts...
  24. Here's the link to a slide show I just found online at celiachealth.org. I don't agree with all of the information that was stated, but there was a lot of useful information. It listed celiac.com as one of the reputable celiac resources online. Open Original Shared Link
  25. Anhueser-Busch's new beer is called Red Bridge. It's great. However, if you're avoiding corn it probably is out of the question for you as it's cut with corn. I think Bard's Tale is corn free.
