  1. Josh, in a bar you could have a 7&7 (Seagrams and 7-up), a Rum (Captain Morgan) & coke, a Woodchuck cider, Jack Daniels on the rocks, or a glass of wine. Forgive me if the latter is slightly feminine. You could always drink a few at home and then order a soda at the bar. As for bar food, you could always ask them to carry special tortilla chips and...
  2. Woodchuck cider is gluten free. I believe all flavors of Woodchuck are gluten free. I have seen it on tap in pubs, but I'm not sure that I would trust it. They are wiped down with the same rag used to wipe down the beer taps. Eek.
  3. Woo-Hoo!!! Tom, that's such good news. I was gearing up to call A-B while my little one took a nap. Now, I guess you saved me the trouble. Thanks. I hope you're able to get some in your area soon.
  4. Hey, I would've been on here asking the same question. Better to play it safe, then to be sorry. At least now you know and you can relax a little bit.
  5. I wouldn't think there would be any extra concerns for a Celiac. Just make sure that the medication you use on her skin is gluten free.
  6. Hey Josh, how far are you from Maryland? Bard's Tale beer is ALL OVER Open Original Shared Link.
  7. Hey, Tom, I thought I might see you rear your head here. Just for the record, I wanted to let you know that our local Outback has a bar and they carry Bard's Tale beer. Josh, try approaching your local bars and see if one of them would carry gluten free beer for you. All we had to do was ask and they were happy to help us out.
  8. Try www.shopbydiet.com. They have tons of other awesome gluten free products too, plus a HUGE selection of cereals.
  9. I bought my first case of Red Bridge a few weeks ago. I guess my area must have been a test market or something. It's really good. I found it to be a relatively light beer compared to Bard's Tale. It has a slightly perfume-like quality to it. It's very good though. I got a case at my local distributor, but I imagine it will be in bars soon. I heard rumors...
  10. Anheiser-Busch came out with a mainstream gluten free beer called Red Bridge. It's pretty good. Also, Bard's Tale makes a great gluten free beer called Dragon's Gold. You can also brew your own beer using malted sorghum. There are tons of articles online about how to brew your own gluten free beer.
  11. Kraft mayonnaise is gluten free. As always, read labels.
  12. That's easy for me... Dr. Fine and Dr. Peter Greene, both Celiac experts. My third person would have to be Tim Burton.
  13. I would call the airline AND the airport and explain your situation. See what they say. Be fully prepared to furnish a note from your doctor saying the gluten free diet is medically necessary.
  14. Crest and Colgate are both gluten free.

Some Celiacs react to gluten free oats, others don't. Most oats in the US are contaminated and gluten free oats are hard to find and expensive. I steer clear, but that's my own personal preference. To me, the risk isn't worth damaging my body. Coke is definitely gluten free. Crest toothpaste is gluten free. Kidney beans should be fine, just make sure the...
  16. Ditto that on Red Star... I have problems with other kinds of yeast. Plus, Red Star labels their yeast gluten free.
  17. My recommendation: Bard's Tale or Red Bridge beer. They're gluten free and delicious. I also like Parrot Bay coconut rum for rum n' cokes. Martini and Rossi Asti Spumanti is gluten free as well. Most wines are gluten free, you should always check with the company though. Many distilled liquors are also safe for Celiacs.
  18. Try this flour combination and see if it helps. Don't forget to use xantham gum. 3 parts white rice flour, 2 parts potato starch, 1 part tapioca starch Use approx. 1 teaspoon xantham gum per 1-1/2 cup of flour mix.
  19. I love selling on eBay. I don't do it often, but when I do I generally make over $500. Baby clothes sell really well, especially brand name clothes. I love Gymboree clothing and they sell phenomenally well on eBay. Make sure you take lots of pictures. If you can, find a free hosting service for your pictures so that you don't have to pay the fee per picture...
  20. I don't know about that brand, but I just wanted to add that One Source by Perrigo labels gluten free. I found prenatal vitamins at Wal-mart today by them. Woo-hoo! Sorry to hear that you've been glutening yourself. That is SOOOOO frustrating. At least you figured out now what's been plaguing you for the past month. Ugh...
  21. I agree with the above post, the more you call or e-mail companies, the more likely they will label their foods gluten free. Eventually, if their phone operators are spending enough time on the allergy questions, they will decide that it would be cost effective to label gluten free. Phone seems to be the best way to get answers from a company. E-mail...
  22. I'm finally done shopping, just finished up today... If your parents are hard to buy for, I definitely agree with the idea of giving them a gift certificate. Gift certificates are so nice to receive. Or perhaps they've talked about liking a musician or sporting event... You could get them tickets to a performance... Or, you could just handmake goodies for...
  23. I would wait until she's old enough to tell you if she's having any Celiac symptoms. That way you can take her back of off gluten if it's really affecting her negatively. When you do introduce gluten into her system again, take it VERY slowly. She may have a violent reaction even if she's not a Celiac or intolerant if you inundate her system with it.
  24. This is the current list. My SIL sells Lame Advertisement and she had them e-mail her the latest list.
  25. Tyler is a great name. Plus, if he really hates his name when he gets older, he will be able to go by TJ, that's cute too. So it's kind of win win. I love it.
