  1. GV products are great. They're often as good as the name brand, or better. It's awesome that they label if they're made in the same facility with wheat or not. I avoid all of their products that are made in the same facility as wheat and only use the products that are actually labeled gluten free. I have never gotten sick off of GV brand and I use multiple...
  2. I was told by B&BW that they would clearly label any gluten. Their lotions clearly label oat flour. I would call the 1-800 number and ask, but this used to be their policy last time I checked. Most of the lotions are NOT gluten free. They contain oat flour. I don't know about any of the shampoos or makeup. I think most of the regular body washes are...
  3. You should be able to hook your laptop up to another computer and view the files. I hope that helps.
  4. My husband much prefers the Bard's Tale as well. He's does not have Celiac, but he drinks Bard's Tale by choice. He thinks it's just a good, hearty beer.
  5. Yeah, I know, right? He said they said something about brownies, but he didn't hear the rest. He didn't really tune in until they said gluten free. Hopefully he'll hear it again today.
  6. I have an awesome recipe for cut-out cookies. Just made it today for the first time and it turned out excellent! I didn't roll and cut them, but the dough was firm enough that I'm pretty sure it would work with cookie cutters. This recipe is adapted from www.topsecretrecipes.com to be gluten free. It's their version of Nabisco Nilla Wafers. 1/2 cup powdered...
  7. My husband just screamed for me like he had chopped his finger off. So I ran out to the garage, expecting the worst, and he's standing there (half jumping up and down) and he said "Guess what was just on the radio?!?! A commercial for gluten free something!" He was so excited. I'm the one that has Celiac, but it was so cute that he got THAT excited. He didn...
  8. I don't buy many specialty foods at all. For us, going completely gluten free in the house has actually saved us money. We don't buy a lot of junk food anymore, no more tv dinners, no expensive processed canned foods... We buy fresh meat, fruit, and vegetables for dinner, for lunch I make something special like homemade pizza or lunchmeat pinwheels, for breakfast...
  9. I've only ever tried the Bard's Tale and the New Grist. Hands down I prefer Bard's Tale. It's very full in flavor. The New Grist just seemed slightly lighter to me, it also got me drunk much more quickly which I wasn't too keen on. Anyone know the alcohol content of these? I couldnt' find anything about the New Grist when I was poking around.
  10. Yes, you should definitely have a seperate gluten free toaster (or use toaster bags) and butter plate. Make sure they are clearly labeled to avoid any mistakes. Other things to think about are PB or jelly jars, really anything that comes in a jar. Make sure your family knows to NOT touch the tips of condiment squeezers to their glutenous food. Also, shared...
  11. Wow, am I the shortest one??? I'm 5'2-3/4"
  12. Dizziness can absolutely be a symptom of Celiac. As well as the tummy aches, chest pains, etc.
  13. Yeah, the muffin tins are really nice for making roll-like breads. Just remember if you're making a yeast bread that it will likely more than double it's size. I learned that the hard way. Ugh... They make like super-sized muffin pans that are shallow, but really large, almost as big as a hamburger roll. That's what I bought. I don't know what it was actually...
  14. Patti, you may want to try making bread in large muffin tins. I've done this before. They're just slightly smaller than rolls and work very well for sandwiches or a side dish with a meal. The mini-loaves also work extremely well. I've just found that the muffin tin rolls are easier to package and freeze in single serving sizes. Yum... Banana bread.....
  15. That's awesome news! Glad you were able to enjoy the pizza.
  16. For me, I could NOT get the center of bread loaves to cook without having a blackened crust. When I make mini loaves and cover them with foil for the first 30-40 minutes of baking, they turn out great. I'm sick of mini-sandwiches though. I can make awesome muffins, cookies, mini-loaves, quiches, etc... It's just the full sized loaves that I can't make work...
  17. Without burning the crust?
  18. I've found that the only way I can successfully cook gluten free bread loaves is by doing them in mini loaves, otherwise they're always uncooked in the middle no matter what temperature I try the recipe on. My oven is accurate, so I don't know what the deal is.

    ARCHIVED Red Robin

Which Red Robin location did you visit? I know others have had bad experiences at other Red Robin restaurants. The Red Robin in Exton (while Dave is working) is excellent. I had a less than excellent experience there the second time I visited, but Dave was not the manager on duty that time. I got sick.
  20. Ditto what Carla said on starting the gluten free diet immediately. If you have Celiac/gluten intolerance it will still show up on the Enterolab test, even if you're eating gluten free. Good luck! I hope you get some answers!
  21. I imagine these cookies would be fabulous with red and green M&M's pushed into the top of them. This would make them look Christmas-y.
  22. Cheetohs, at least in the US, are gluten free. They are made on the same lines that the glutenous stuff is made on though. They scrub the lines, but there's a possibility of CC. They're also made in the same facility as wheat products, so CC is possible there too. Perhaps though you are having a reaction to something else in the Cheetohs OR was someone (who...
  23. The manufacturer may be listed wiht an abbreviation. That's how mine usually are. You may have to call your pharmacy to find out what the abbreviation means. Either way, calling the manufacturer is definitely your best bet.
  24. Woo-hoo! You brought a smile to my face. I love hearing good news. Thanks, I really needed to smile today.
  25. Thank you everyone. Carla, I think I will ask her if she would do the Enterolab test if I bought it for her. I will also ask her if she will follow through with the diet once she recieves the results. If she says yes, then I will buy it for her. If she says no, well, I guess my hands are tied on that one. I was also at the point, pre-diagnosis, where I couldn...
