  1. Yes, absolutely gluten free.
  2. I have a silicone cupcake pan and I LOVE it! Can't imagine how I lived without it. I use liners, so I don't grease the cups. However, if I were making something without liners I would definitely grease them. Though, now that I think about it, if I have a cupcake that overflows out of the liner, it comes right off the sheet, so maybe you wouldn't need grease...
  3. Just saw your post now. Welcome welcome welcome!!!
  4. I had itchy eyes until I switched my mascara. My old mascara had wheat germ oil in it. Ugh...
  5. Too cute. I love the way children interpret the world. My daughter, when getting gas for the car, asks me "mommy, are you done passing gas now so we can go to the mall?" She's two.
  6. For those who want to know, here's the gluten-free list.
  7. Okay, I just called Signature Brands for their gluten free products list, but they're not in until 8am this morning. I need to make my daughter cupcakes for a birthday party she's going to on Saturday. I want to put some of those Cake Mates flowers on it so that it looks fancier than the cake that they will be serving. If she has to be different, the least...
  8. Wow, they mentioned to use seperate utensils!!! That's pretty good for a short blurb. Thanks for sharing.
  9. Congratulations! The first year is the hardest. It just gets easier by the day from this point on. Hope you can make a few moments to celebrate this "anniversary".
  10. Hearty, not healthy.
  11. Shopbydiet.com has bi-aglut stuff... And it's cheaper there than at many other places.
  12. Mmmmmmm.... Almond Joys.... I could eat ten of those in one sitting!
  13. Ok, I have some good news for you... If you DO have celiac disease, you can get all those recipes of gluten-filled foods that your grandma makes and convert them to being gluten-free! I've had great success with making gluten free goodies from glutenous recipes. I simply sub a white rice flour blend for all-purpose flour. They almost always turn out tasting...
  14. If she needs more prompting to go gluten free, she may be interested in getting him tested through Open Original Shared Link.
  15. Welcome, Amy!
  16. I totally agree with the Enterolab suggestion. They test for gluten intolerance, not specifically for Celiac Disease, though they can do a genetic test to tell you if you have the celiac disease genes and which ones. However, it seems to me that you already have your answer. If you're breaking out while eating gluten, the easiest way to be tested would be...
  17. Could candida be a possibility??? Doesn't that feed off of sugar and yeast? I could be completely out in left field with this. Just a suggestion.
  18. Excerpt from page 4 of The Gluten Free Kitchen by Roben Ryberg "Guar gum is known to be a mild laxative. While eating an entire batch of cookies could cause a bit of gastric distress, moderate portions are usually well tolerated." Perhaps it was the guar gum, though I know that Bob's Red Mill has a bad reputation for CC. There are plenty of people that are...
  19. I stear clear of the salt and pepper shakers in restaurants. Though the actual spices themselves may be gluten free, who knows how many times they've been dipped in pasta or gravy since they were washed last. I doubt that they are washed every night. Plus, chances are they ARE wiped down every night with the same rag that is used to wipe up crumbs and such...
  20. Just something to think about... Are there any cracks or areas that would be impossible to clean? Flour could be trapped in there and slowly leak itself out into your food. If the rolling pin is only being used for gluten-free foods, I think I would just invest in a new one. Better safe than sorry.
  21. Before we all went gluten free, I used to keep containers of baby wipes around the house. Also, gluten items were limited to the kitchen and everyone had to wash their hands after eating. I would recommend doing the wipe thing. It's easier than washing your hands non-stop.
  22. Have you mentioned your suspicions to the doctor? Was he unwilling to do the test? I would start with talking to your doctor. If he refuses to do the blood testing, I would try going gluten free and see if it helps. Even if you get a negative restult on the blood test, if they can't figure out what's going on, I would try going gluten free anyway, just to...
  23. This would make a great side dish for Thanksgiving dinner. It's relatively easy to make and it only takes about 30 minutes of cooking time (20 of those are just boiling the potatos). Ingredients: 5 large potatos (I used baking potatos), peeled and diced into 1" pieces 5-10 strips of cooked bacon, crumble(I like a lot of bacon, you may prefer less)...
  24. Okay, bear with me because I don't measure anything when I add it. You may need to adjust amounts slightly. Trust me though, this recipe is well worth the trouble. My daughter gobbled it up and she doesn't like any meat. Ingredients: 1/2 stick butter (or the margarine equivalent) 1 lb. boneless pork chops, trimmed 1 thinly sliced apple (red or green...
  25. Anything Kinnikinnick is great Glutano (not glutino) is great for the most part Bulk items like flours would probably be good sellers (I usually buy Kinnikinnick) Chebe mixes seem to be popular, though they're not a fave in my house LaraBars The Gluten Free Pantry Mrs. Leepers Tinkyada Namaste Please consider carrying some gluten free/dairy free...
