  1. Vincent, I know this is a long shot, but... Any chance you know if the Bluebird cafe serves gluten free beer???
  2. I don't, but I would like to add that these rolls are 100% delicious when warmed up in the microwave. They are by far the best roll that I've tried to date, including ones that I've made myself.
  3. Hey Lindalee, I live only about 45 minutes south of Reading... Lititz...
  4. Okay, I don't mean to get all mushy here, but I just had a revelation. It just occured to me that I haven't had a craving for a glutenous goodie in ages. When I look back, I realize that it was about the time that I found this message board that my cravings disappeared. You guys have offered so much good advice and I've made so many good friends here, it...
  5. Do you smoke cigarettes or regularly drink coffee and soda?
  6. My best advice is to buy several gluten free cookbooks. This is what made it totally easier for me. I bought the Incredible Edible Gluten Free Food for Kids book by Sheri Sanderson and the Gluten-Free Gourmet cooks Fast and Healthy by Bette Hagman. These two books have saved my sanity. I try to order a new book once a month because they each have at least...
  7. That's why I was questioning it, because my old bottle of ketchup DIDN'T have the 57 on it and this new bottle does. I figured it was the same stuff, but I wanted to make sure. That would've been a silly slip up.
  8. Whew.... Thanks! That's what I thought, but I wanted to be sure before diving in.
  9. I know that the Heinz 57 isn't gluten free, but how do I know which ketchup this is? My DH just got me a bottle of ketchup on it that says 57 on it. I need to know if I can still use it.
  10. How odd... This is totally off subject, but on my way home from the races tonight we followed a van whose license plate read CIN ROLL. Ha. Just had to share.
  11. I don't know about that stuff, Lister, but Red Bull is gluten free.
  12. When I was first diagnosed I used to eat the Thai Kitchen stuff all the time. I never got glutened by it.
  13. One of the gluten free companies makes an oat replacer. It might be Ener-G. I have no clue what it is, but I remember seeing it on one of my online stores.
  14. Ooooohhhh... They look SO good! Darn this diet!!!

    ARCHIVED Fast Food?

Wendy's and McDonalds both have gluten free menus online. Beware, however, of McDonalds menu as they've been known to "lie" about ingredients before. Most people on here try to stay away from fast food due to the high risk of cross contamination.
  16. Did you make sure that the figs aren't rolled in flour? Just wanted to make sure. I've made that mistake before.
  17. I believe Mountain Dew is gluten free.
  18. It acts kind of like an opiate in your system. I think Tarnalberry has more info on this. I looked for an old post with this info, but I couldnt' find it. Maybe someone else will have the link.
  19. The skin sensitivity (like when DH scratches your back) sounds like some sort of neuropathy. I used to have that same reaction for years prior to diagnosis. It flares up now whenever I get glutened. I would say that it is very probably related to gluten. It took about a year for all of that to begin to subside for me. Cold things used to make me feel like...
  20. Gerber freeze dried fruits, Gerber wagon wheels, Perky-O's cereal, Envirokidz berry bars, Kinnikinnick crispy rice cereal (like rice crispies), small chunks of fresh fruit, Kraft 2% american cheese singles, you can make your own zwieback-style toast with rice bread, Mi-del animal cookies, Glutano crackers (like Ritz meets a saltine and melts easily in mouth...
  21. It gets better, I promise. As for taco seasoning, I stick with McCormick.
  22. Does anyone know about the little prepackaged Kahlua brand mudslides, white russians, B-52's, etc? I'm dying to have something pre-packaged to drink for an outdoor party. I can't get any of the gluten free beers here where I live.
  23. I use the bagel recipe in Bette Hagman's fast and healthy cookbook. It's like a hard roll. I really like it for sandwiches. I omit some of the sugar and I don't boil them like the book says to. They come out really well. They're a staple in our household.
  24. Wow! Thanks for that information on Turkey Hill ice cream. I used to adore Turkey Hill ice cream before gluten free and after, but I was never positive that it was actually safe.
  25. The Gluten-Free Gourmet Cooks Fast and Healthy has an excellent bagel recipe that I use for sandwich rolls. They're much better as rolls than they are as bagels. I just omit the sugar from the recipe. They even make good lunchmeat sandwiches!!! BLT's are divine on them.
