  1. I think I'm the only one in the US that DOESN'T have a Whole Foods close by. Ugh... I feel so deprived...
  2. I've found that to be the case with most Enjoy Life foods. I don't buy that brand anymore. Frankly, it's not worth it for me. I have a snickerdoodle recipe that's wonderful. PM me if you want it.
  3. Check out the bacons made by Kraft Foods. They will clearly list gluten on the label if it contains any.
  4. I don't have any suggestions on a bakery, but I would recommend no matter where you choose to get your cake made, you should get a sample first. I'm sure they deal with that kind of request a lot.
  5. I have no clue!!! They put so much crap in some of that stuff anymore... It wasn't even *clears throat* "wild" type lube. And I wondered why I got a burning rash from that stuff... Hmmmm...
  6. ChelsE, that sounds AMAZING!!! My poor dieting butt is drooling all over the thought...
  7. Patti, imagine weak apple cider, mixed with weak white wine with kind of a beer-like sensation. That's my best description for hard cider (at least Woodchuck, that's all I drink now). If you don't like one, you may want to try a few other brands (there are several that are gluten free).
  8. Ewwww.... I agree w/ Tarnalberry... No offense, but that doctor should be canned!!! You absolultely have Celiac w/ results like that. Starting the gluten free diet immediately will help prevent you from doing any further damage on your body. Good luck and please listen to the people on this board about your diagnosis. They know what they're talking about...
  9. What part of stomach bile??? I mean, what exactly is your question? I hope you don't think I'm being rude, that just isn't specific enough for us to be able to help you.
  10. I don't live in Canada, so please keep in mind that some of this stuff might not be available there. For sleepovers you could do Amy's rice crust pizza. Some on here have had problems with it, but others eat it regularly with no problems. I'm one of those who love it and eat it all the time with no problems. You could do popcorn too, some brands are gluten...
  11. I actually had a bottle of lube that I had to throw out because of wheat germ oil... Ugh...
  12. Could CC have been an issue? Was there a language barrier? Did they truely understand what gluten was? Was the tea gluten free? I hope you're feeling better.
  13. My migraines also got significantly worse after going gluten free. It took about two years for them to start clearing up. I've been on Imitrex most of that time. I still get them maybe once a week, but there for a while I had a migraine every other day, so one day a week is good for me. I'm on the same page with Tarnalberry. I tried and tried to figure out...
  14. I drink the Woodchuck Granny Smith and it does wonders for my beer urge.
  15. If you want to have something a little lighter, you may want to consider Woodchuck cider. It's gluten free.
  16. Celiac can cause canker sores. And gosh are they painful. I hope it goes away for you quickly. As far as the gas-like thing you describe. I used to get that all the time. I still do sometimes. I think it's pretty normal. Has your doctor checked you for other intolerances? Other intolerances can impede your progress immensly.
  17. Yeah, where do you get it? I got myself Candy Tree Strawberry Vines and YUCK!!! I need a Twizzlers substitute. I live like 40 minutes from Y&S so the Twizzlers that are stocked in local stores are often super fresh and super soft. I'm spoiled.
  18. They are safe. I just asked that question a few weeks ago and was told they're fine.
  19. Oh... I forgot to mention this... If you're a beer-lover, you'll appreciate this website: Open Original Shared Link.

    ARCHIVED Applebees

Lister, was it a manager you spoke to or just an employee? If it wasn't the store owner/manager, I would call back and ask to speak to the manager, he/she may be more knowledgable.
  21. Romapo Valley, New Grist, and Bard's Tale all make gluten free beers. I find it easier to just enjoy a hard cider. Woodchuck is gluten free. It's much cheaper than gluten free beer and, though it may be an acquired taste, it satisfies the beer urge for me.
  22. Call corporate to ask about the accuracy of the old list. Then, when you go in, ask to speak to the manager and explain that you have a "very violent, immediate reaction from gluten and you don't wish that kind of clean-up on any restaurant's crew". He he he... Or something of that nature if you're really worried about it. If you speak to the manager, he...

    ARCHIVED Applebees

When I asked Applebee's about their gluten free status I got a very rude response and have decided I will never go to Applebee's again. They absolutely do not have a gluten free menu. Have you tried Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill, Macaroni Grille, Olive Garden, Carrabba's Italian, or Chili's? All of them have gluten free menu items. You will have to...
  24. Thanks Carla. Now a big question before this post gets deleted. If the protein makes me sick, is it likely that it's doing celiac-like damage?
  25. I'm so jealous! I need to find family in FLorida! Maybe I'll adopt a family down there. ***Sorry, Tammy... I didn't mean to steal your post. ***
